Report in The New York Times: US intelligence agencies assess that Iran is not currently ready to enter meaningful negotiations to end the war. According to estimates, the Iranian leadership believes it is in a strong position in the war and therefore does not have to respond to the diplomatic demands of the US. Although Iran is willing to keep communication channels open, it does not trust the US and does not believe that President Donald Trump is serious about negotiations.
