Joby and Air Space Intelligence Partner to Prepare U.S. Airspace for Scaled Electric Flight
April 7 2026
Joby Aviation, Inc. (NYSE: JOBY), a company developing all-electric aircraft for commercial passenger service, and Air Space Intelligence (ASI), a leading U.S.-based aerospace and defense software company, today announced a partnership to accelerate the integration of advanced air mobility (AAM) into the U.S. National Airspace System.
Building on ASI’s Flyways AI Platform – an open AI-powered airspace intelligence platform that uses high-fidelity 4D modeling to optimize flight operations – Joby and ASI plan to work together to advance how scaled eVTOL operations can be safely integrated into dynamic, increasingly complex and high-traffic airspace. Joint demonstrations, including live operational exercises, are expected later this year.
With the FAA’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) set to form the foundation for the next generation of air traffic management, the partnership will also explore how more automated, software-defined approaches to airspace coordination can enable increasingly autonomous flight operations.
"America has long set the global standard for aviation, and modernizing our airspace is key to maintaining that leadership," said Greg Bowles, Chief Policy Officer, Joby Aviation.
"By combining Joby's operational capabilities with ASI's advanced AI-driven Flyways platform, we're helping build the intelligent infrastructure needed to integrate electric air taxis seamlessly into the NAS — one of America's most important national assets."
"Scaling advanced air mobility requires more than new aircraft — it requires a new operating system for the airspace," said Bernard Asare, President, Civil Aviation, Air Space Intelligence.
"Our Flyways AI platform gives operators and controllers the predictive awareness to coordinate high-density operations proactively, not reactively. This partnership brings that same capability to eVTOL operations from day one.”
Together, the companies will leverage Joby's operational experience and aircraft capabilities alongside ASI's AI-driven airspace intelligence to develop joint solutions that demonstrate how eVTOL operations can scale safely within the existing airspace framework.
Initial results from the partnership's live operational exercises are expected by the end of 2026.
Last month, Joby completed a series of piloted demonstration flights across the San Francisco Bay Area, showcasing the company's operational readiness.
Joby was also recently selected as a partner in multiple winning applications under the White House-backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP).
Through the program, Joby has the opportunity to begin early operations this year in 12 states, marking a major milestone for the U.S. air taxi industry and potentially accelerating Joby's path to commercial service.
ASI is leading operational transformation and delivering mission-critical decision-making systems to aviation, defense, logistics, and energy organizations operating in dynamic, complex environments.
The partnership with Joby extends ASI's proven airspace intelligence capabilities to the emerging eVTOL sector, helping ensure that as electric flight operations grow, the airspace system is ready to support them safely and efficiently.

Planet Successfully Runs AI in Space
Apr 7, 2026 9:04 AM Eastern Daylight Time
SAN FRANCISCO(BUSINESS WIRE)Following the announcement of a strategic initiative with NVIDIA, Planet Labs PBC (NYSE: PL) announced a landmark technical achievement:
the successful deployment and execution of AI-driven object detection directly onboard its Pelican-4 satellite, paving the way toward on-orbit compute for rapid insights, a capability Planet calls Planetary Intelligence.
On March 25th, 500km over Alice Springs, Australia, Planet’s Pelican-4 captured an image of an airport, then successfully utilized its onboard NVIDIA Jetson Orin module to run an AI model to detect airplanes in moments.
This represents one of the first times an Earth imaging satellite has moved beyond simple data capture to onboard AI inference and analysis.
“This success is a glimpse into the future of what we call Planetary Intelligence at scale," said Kiruthika Devaraj, VP of Avionics & Spacecraft Technology.
"By running AI at the edge on the NVIDIA Jetson platform, we can help reduce the time between 'seeing' a change on Earth and a customer 'acting' on it, while simultaneously minimizing downlink latency and cost.
This shift toward integrated AI at the edge is a technological leap that can help differentiate solutions like Planet’s Global Monitoring Service (GMS), providing valuable insights for our customers and enabling rapid response times when it matters most."
“This step with NVIDIA can help speed the pace of insight, reducing the time to potential answers from hours to minutes. This can be the critical difference-maker for our customers from disaster response to security and beyond,” said Will Marshall, Planet CEO and Co-Founder.
“Bigger picture: this is an exciting milestone towards delivering Planetary Intelligence. We’re moving AI from the internet into the physical realm, effectively connecting the ‘eyes’ of our satellites with an onboard ‘brain’ to create a nervous system for the planet.”
This breakthrough can help progress Planet’s Pelican and forthcoming Owl constellations into a near-real-time intelligence network. Leveraging NVIDIA Jetson and high-speed inter-satellite links, Planet is working to effectively close the latency gap.
Rather than waiting for data to download and then be analyzed on the ground, customers could receive actionable insights within minutes of capture. The end-to-end process, spanning initial data generation, deep-net object detection, and full geo-rectification, is designed to occur entirely in orbit.
By producing GeoTIFF and GeoJSON insights within isolated Docker containers in space, Planet is striving to be able to generate intelligence about events in minutes.
While the onboard models are in their early stages and will continue to be refined, the successful integration of AI applications in space paves the way for a new era of flexibility for satellite constellations.
By placing this compute power on the satellite itself, Planet aims to unlock the future of Earth intelligence at a planetary scale with near real-time insights.

Doubling ESA’s deep space capabilities at New Norcia with deep space antenna 4
07/04/2026
ESA’s newest deep space antenna – DSA 4, also known as New Norcia 3 or NNO-3 – officially entered nominal operations on 1 April 2026.
The 35 m dish, located at the New Norcia site in Western Australia, is ESA’s third deep space antenna in the southern hemisphere and the second at the New Norcia site.
This new addition represents a major leap forward in ESA’s ability to stay connected with spacecraft venturing into increasingly distant regions of deep space.
DSA 4 features the ability to downlink in X‑, K- and Ka‑band and uplink in X-band as well as K-band in the future. It is also equipped with cutting‑edge technologies, including cryogenically cooled receivers operating at −263°C.
By cooling the link between the physical antenna and the receiver to near absolute zero, background interference, or “noise,” can be dramatically reduced, improving the antenna’s ability to detect signals weaker than a whisper from billions of kilometres away.
DSA 4 is also equipped with a 20 kW radio transmitter, which is comparable to the power a small car uses while accelerating onto a motorway.
Radio waves weaken as they travel – much like ripples spreading out on a pond – so signals sent to distant spacecraft often become extremely faint.
Thanks to its powerful transmitter, DSA 4 can send commands that remain strong and easy for spacecraft to detect even from across the Solar System.
DSA 4 is the newest member of ESA’s Estrack network, a global system of ground stations that link satellites in orbit with the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), ESA’s mission control hub.
Expanding ESA’s global Estrack network
ESA ground stations provide the communication lifeline to missions across the Solar System: essential telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) services that keep spacecraft safely connected to Earth.
They receive telemetry, the continuous stream of health, status and scientific data sent down by a spacecraft; perform tracking by precisely measuring a spacecraft’s distance, velocity and position using radio signals; and transmit commands that control onboard systems, adjust trajectories, or update mission configurations.
With DSA 4, the network now includes four 35 m deep space antennas and three near‑Earth stations as part of its core infrastructure. DSA 4 complements Estrack’s existing 35 m dishes in:
New Norcia, Australia (DSA 1)
Cebreros, Spain (DSA 2)
Malargüe, Argentina (DSA 3)
1/2
The other three ground stations in Estrack’s core network are used for tracking satellites or launchers near Earth and feature 4.5 or 15 m dish antennas in Kourou (French Guiana), Santa Maria (Portugal) and Kiruna (Sweden).
All stations in this network are remotely operated around the clock by ESA’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) at ESOC, which oversees antenna pointing, signal acquisition and continuous monitoring of the global system.
Estrack supports all ESA mission families, including deep space missions, as part of a large, diverse operational infrastructure.
Bringing DSA 4 online: testing, calibration and first signals
After inauguration on 4 October 2025, DSA 4 embarked on an intensive commissioning phase. This meant months of fine-tuning everything from the dish surface to the ultra-precise timing systems.
Combined end‑to‑end testing was the first step to confirm that signals could pass through every component of the station. During this phase, engineers checked the performance of the antenna’s mechanics, radio frequency stages, frequency and timing equipment, power systems and back-end modems.
Once the technical checks were complete, engineering teams prepared the station for real operations. They refined the control software and configured the ground system to work seamlessly with the new antenna as well as integrated DSA‑4 into ESA’s scheduling and network‑control workflows together with the NOC.
In the final phase, teams tracked multiple ESA deep space spacecraft to ensure each could communicate with the new antenna.
With commissioning complete, responsibility formally shifted from engineering to operations. ESA’s newest deep space antenna is now operated remotely from ESOC as part of Estrack’s 24/7 global network.
“This is an exciting moment,” says Harald Ernst, one of ESA’s New Norcia station engineers who has been working with DSA 4 teams since before commissioning began. “After so much testing, experiencing the moments when the antenna finally goes online is very rewarding.”
Euclid was the first ESA spacecraft to be tracked on 1 April after DSA 4 entered nominal operations, marking the moment the antenna came alive as a working part of ESA’s deep space network.
New capabilities with two deep space antennas in New Norcia
Bringing a second deep‑space antenna online at the Australian site boosts ESA’s global coverage, providing greater availability and built‑in redundancy.
This expanded capacity enhances support for ongoing deep space science and astronomy missions. Together, the two antennas can operate in combination to emulate a virtual giant dish, allowing them to capture faint signals from spacecraft far across the Solar System.
DSA 4 also brings next-generation X‑band transmission features that expand the link configurations possible from New Norcia, providing capabilities and operational flexibility that are unique within the Estrack network.
Looking ahead: deep space antenna 5
As humanity pushes deeper into the Solar System, missions will demand stronger links, higher data rates and extreme reliability back on Earth.
While DSA 4 begins operations, preparations are already underway for DSA 5, ESA’s next 35 m deep space antenna. ESA member states approved funding for the project at the November 2025 Ministerial Council.
With DSA 4 online and DSA 5 in the works, Estrack is continuing its evolution as the communication backbone that will support the next generation of space exploration for decades to come.
This growing capability will provide the enhanced coverage, redundancy and technical readiness required to support ESA’s expanding presence across the Solar System and deepen Europe’s role in global space science.

Massive explosion rocks bridge in Panama (VIDEOS)
Updated 7 Apr, 2026 07:41
A huge fireball and towering columns of black smoke erupted beside the Bridge of the Americas in Panama on Monday, with dramatic videos on social media showing flames tearing through the fuel terminal next to the landmark crossing.
The blast, reported in La Boca, Balboa, was caused by a tanker truck explosion and forced the immediate shutdown of traffic on the bridge, one of the country’s most important transport links.
While the explosion did not occur directly on the bridge, flames billowing beneath the crossing fueled concern over its structural integrity.
Panama’s fire service said the emergency was first reported at around 4:12 PM local time and that crews arriving at the scene found multiple trucks ablaze, along with additional tanks under threat.
Reinforcements from several stations were called in as firefighters battled to stop the flames from spreading further.
Officials said two people with second-degree burns were rescued during the operation and treated by firefighters. Fire crews were also searching for a possible trapped person while carrying out cooling operations.
Later local reports said one person was confirmed dead and two firefighters were injured while tackling the blaze.
Authorities suspended transit across the Bridge of the Americas as emergency teams worked at the scene and inspectors assessed whether the intense heat may have affected the structure.
The public was urged to avoid the Balboa area and keep routes clear for emergency vehicles.

Ukrainian drone strike kills 12-year-old boy and parents in Russian region
Published 7 Apr, 2026 11:01 | Updated 7 Apr, 2026 12:05
A twelve-year-old boy and his parents have been killed in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack in Russia’s Vladimir Region, according to Governor Aleksandr Avdeev. The family’s five-year-old daughter survived with burns.
Emergency crews extinguished a fire that broke out after the family’s home was struck in the attack. Residents in a neighboring apartment of the two-apartment block in the Aleksandrovsky municipal district were unharmed.
The boy killed in the strike had celebrated his birthday just the day before, Anna Kuznetsova, head of the district, said.
Moscow has accused Kiev of attacking civilians because it cannot halt Russian advances on the battlefield.
Also on Tuesday, Zaporozhye Governor Evgeny Balitsky reported that a Ukrainian drone had struck a school in the village of Velikaya Znamenka, injuring five children and one adult.
The Russian Defense Ministry has said 45 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight over several regions. UAVs were shot down over the Leningrad, Voronezh, Belgorod, Vladimir, Bryansk, Volgograd, Penza, and Krasnodar regions, as well as over the Black Sea.
Leningrad Region was among the hardest-hit, with military forces continuing to repel a massive wave of Ukrainian drones.
Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said that, as of the latest update, 22 UAVs had been shot down. St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport was also forced to introduce temporary flight restrictions due to the drone incursions.
In recent months, Kiev has intensified strikes on Russia’s regions, including civilian and oil infrastructure, in an effort to disrupt the country’s ability to export crude.
Ukrainian officials deny deliberately targeting civilians, claiming that their goal is to inflict economic damage to pressure Russia to abandon its objectives in the four-year Ukraine conflict.
Moscow has accused Kiev of resorting to terrorist tactics and inflicting damage on third parties not involved in the conflict between the two nations.
The Kremlin has also noted that US-mediated talks with Ukraine have been placed on hold due to the US-Israeli war on Iran.

What US rescue of shot down pilot means for Hormuz, Kharg, potential invasions in Iran - analysis
Could the success of the operation enhance the chances of US President Donald Trump approving a ground invasion of the Straits of Hormuz or of Kharg Island?
The US military's impressive rescue of its shot down F-15 weapons officer airman from deep within Iranian territory, requiring hours of searches and a relatively large scale special ground forces deployment could be bigger than the event itself.
While Trump is notoriously spontaneous and can experience sudden shifts of increased confidence after a prior success (many argue he decided to attack Iran thinking it would be not much harder to handle than his coup in Venezuela), the answer is still probably no.
On one hand, the rescue operation showed America's vast ability to act within Iranian soil.
It did not just send troops into one area of Iran, but rather three.

Iran distributes 180,000 iodine tablets to Bushehr residents
Health authorities in the southern port city of Bushehr, home to Iran's only nuclear power plant, have distributed 180,000 iodine tablets among residents as part of a crisis preparedness plan, a local official said.
The deputy for health at Bushehr University of Medical Sciences said the distribution began prior to the 12-day war in June 2025 based on a decision by the national crisis management headquarters, according to the state-run Young Journalists Club (YJC).
The official said the rollout initially prioritized areas surrounding the nuclear power plant before expanding to cover the entire city. The tablets have been made available through all comprehensive health centers across Bushehr.
“Since the beginning of the plan, all comprehensive health centers have been distributing iodine tablets using prepared forms and guidelines, and they are now available to all residents,” the official said.
Authorities said the tablets are intended for use in the event of a radiological incident. Residents are advised to take the tablets from 24 hours before to up to four hours after a potential exposure, with one tablet allocated per person, though dosage varies by age.
Health officials explained that radioactive iodine may be released during nuclear incidents, and the thyroid gland readily absorbs iodine. By taking iodine tablets, the thyroid becomes saturated with stable iodine, reducing its ability to absorb radioactive iodine and lowering the risk of thyroid damage.

Russia, China veto UN resolution on Hormuz shipping security
Russia and China vetoed a UN Security Council resolution aimed at protecting commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The resolution, put to a vote in a significantly watered-down form after China’s initial opposition, received 11 votes in favor, with two abstentions by Pakistan and Colombia.
The latest iteration, seen by Reuters, dropped any explicit authorization of the use of force.
The resolution's text "strongly encourages States interested in the use of commercial maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz to coordinate efforts, defensive in nature, commensurate to the circumstances, to contribute to ensuring the safety and security of navigation across the Strait of Hormuz."
It said such contributions could include "the escort of merchant and commercial vessels." It also endorsed efforts "to deter attempts to close, obstruct or otherwise interfere with international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz."

Trump warns Iran of attack it 'has not seen', says 8 pm deadline stands
US President Donald Trump said his 8 p.m. (EST) deadline remains in place and warned Iran of a potential attack “like they have not seen,” according to remarks made in a phone interview with Bret Baier on Fox News.
“I just got off the phone with the president… I said, listen, if you were to put odds on it, what were the odds that this is going to end up being a negotiated deal? He said he wasn't going to put odds on it. But he said, ‘8 p.m. is happening,’” Baier said, recounting the call.
“He said, ‘it is—if we get to that point—there is going to be an attack like they have not seen.’ Now he's sticking to that at this point… it is moving forward with the plans that we have. That's a huge deal,” he added.

Iran cuts off 'direct' communications with US not talks with mediators - WSJ
The Wall Street Journal, quoting Middle Eastern officials, reports that Iran has only cut off its "direct" communications with the US not its talks with ceasefire mediators.
While the move has temporarily complicated efforts to make a deal by Trump’s 8 p.m. deadline, it hasn't ended the talks, the report said.
"Iran intended to send a signal of disapproval and defiance by severing communications," one official was quoted as saying.
Iran's state-run Tehran Times later reported that "diplomatic and indirect channels of talks with the US are not closed."
The Tehran-based paper had earlier reported that Iran had cut "all diplomatic and backchannel talks" with the US.

North Korea Rejects South's 'Friendly' Drone Regret as Warning
Updated 2026.04.08. 00:01
President Lee Jae Myung’s expression of regret regarding the “unmanned aerial vehicle incident with North Korea” drew a response from Kim Yo-jong, a vice departmental director of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee, who issued a statement on the 6th emphasizing that the focus was a “clear warning” rather than a “friendly response.”
This came after the South Korean government assessed Kim Yo-jong’s statement as a “meaningful step forward,” which North Korea dismissed while reaffirming South Korea as the “most hostile adversarial state.”
Jang Kum-chol, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the 10th Bureau in charge of inter-Korean relations, stated in a statement released via Korean Central News Agency on the 7th:
“If the South Korean side interprets our government’s swift response as an ‘unprecedented friendly reaction’ or ‘rapid mutual confirmation of intent between leaders’ and spouts nonsense like that, it will be recorded as the ‘hopeful delusions of foolish fools’ that astonish the public.”
Jang Kum-chol clarified that the core of Kim Yo-jong’s previous statement was a “clear warning.” This was a rebuttal to interpretations that Kim Yo-jong’s evaluation of President Lee’s expression of regret as “very fortunate and a wise move for oneself” signaled conciliation.
Jang Kum-chol argued that Kim Yo-jong’s statement should be understood as: “If you want to live safely, you must also know how to honestly admit your crimes”; “It won’t be fun if you keep provoking us”; and “Do not bother us if you want to live comfortably.”
He also revealed that Kim Yo-jong had described South Korea as “miserable dogs barking along with neighborhood dogs.”
Jang Kum-chol added, “The identity of South Korea, the most hostile adversarial state, cannot change under any circumstances, regardless of what words or actions its authorities use.”
The day before, when President Lee expressed regret over the unmanned aerial vehicle incident during a Cabinet meeting, Kim Yo-jong issued a statement within about 10 hours stating, “Our leader (North Korean leader Kim Jong-un) praised this as ‘demonstrating the attitude of a frank and bold person.’”
The Ministry of Unification assessed Kim Yo-jong’s statement as a “meaningful step forward toward peaceful coexistence on the Korean Peninsula.” However, North Korea issued a rebuttal through Jang Kum-chol’s statement less than a day later, directly refuting this interpretation.

General Atomics Drone Prototype Crashes in California
Apr 7, 2026
Flight tests are grounded and an investigation is underway.
On Monday, at approximately 1 p.m. PT, an experimental test drone crashed in the California desert. In a statement, General Atomics said the platform experienced a "mishap" after takeoff from a company-owned airport.
The drone was a YFQ-42A Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). The CCA is a new type of autonomous, uncrewed drone designed to fly alongside manned U.S. fighter jets, like F-35s, to provide the U.S. Air Force with surveillance and strike capabilities.
Most popular manufacturing content:
No one was injured in the incident, but the defense contractor says flight tests have been temporarily paused in an abundance of caution.
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, the subsidiary responsible for designing and manufacturing military drones and radar systems, is assessing the aircraft's condition and investigating to determine the incident’s root cause.
The company said it is too early to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
"As with any program, we follow a disciplined investigation process to understand exactly what occurred, and our focus right now is on gathering data and ensuring we learn from this event," the company said.
The aircraft was one of several production-representative YFQ-42A CCA test aircraft currently in the technical maturation and risk reduction phase of the program for the U.S. Air Force.
General Atomics said the jets regularly fly at company-owned facilities as part of their operational test and evaluation program. Flight operations will resume when deemed appropriate.
“Safety is our top priority, for our people and the public. In this case, established procedures and safeguards worked as intended, and there were no injuries,” said C. Mark Brinkley, a company spokesman.
“We’re going to take a close look at what happened, gather all the data, and allow the investigation to guide us moving forward.”
In April 2024, the U.S. Air Force picked General Atomics and Anduril to lead the CCA program. The news came as a shock to the industry that saw stalwarts like Boeing and Lockheed left in the lurch.
In 2023, Anduril purchased Blue Force Technologies, a company that had developed a large unmanned aircraft system called "Fury." In January 2025, the company announced plans to make the Anduril Fury (YFQ-44A) at a massive new factory in Columbus, Ohio.
The Fury completed its first test flight in California on October 31. Production of military drones and autonomous air vehicles is scheduled to begin in Ohio in July 2026.

Watch: UFO Cluster Astonishes California Family
April 06, 2026
A California family cruising down the highway could not believe their eyes when they spotted a curious cluster of UFOs that appeared and subsequently vanished from the night sky.
The wondrous moment, filmed by one of the witnesses and subsequently shared with the National UFO Reporting Center, occurred shortly before midnight on April 3rd near the community of Winterhaven.
In the amusing footage from the family, featured above, the mother can be heard marveling to her adult children that they are witnessing a "freakin' UFO" comprised of four lights that are seemingly flying in formation.
The family's amazement at what they were seeing was compounded when the peculiar cluster of UFOs slowly began vanishing from the night sky, going from four orbs to none.
"It's leaving," exclaims the mom as the final illumination disappears, musing, "you guys, this is crazy to me." As for what the odd lights could have been, setting aside the proverbial extraterrestrial hypothesis, many viewers online have suggested that the family probably spotted some flares likely being deployed as part of some kind of military exercise.
What do you think they witnessed on Friday as they cruised down the highway? Weigh in with your thoughts at the C2C Facebook page.

UFO Expert Nick Pope, Who Knew 'Secrets', Dies After Stage 4 Cancer Battle
07 April 2026, 10:03 AM BST
A legendary figure who spent years investigating the unknown for the British government has passed away at home after a courageous health battle.
Known for his insights into the nation's most guarded aerial mysteries, he spent his final months sharing his journey with the world before succumbing to a terminal diagnosis.
His death marks the end of an era for those seeking the truth behind the secrets he once protected.
Nick Pope, the face of the UK's official UFO investigations, has died. News of his passing was shared by his wife, Elizabeth Weiss, on X. Having dedicated decades to uncovering the unknown, Pope was in his early sixties.
Accompanied by a photo of the two together, Weiss posted a heartfelt message on X and Facebook on April 7, announcing that Pope had passed away at their home.
She expressed her deep love for her husband and reflected on how fortunate she felt to have shared her life with him. Even during his final weeks of suffering, he remained dedicated enough to conduct several interviews from their home.
Understanding Nick Pope's Final Battle
While the exact cause of his passing has not been officially confirmed, his wife's comments about his recent struggle point toward his previously disclosed illness.
In early February 2026, the former official shared the news that he was battling Stage 4 esophageal cancer. After revealing that the condition had reached his liver, he spent his final months facing the advanced diagnosis before he died on April 6.
Five Key Facts About the Life of Nick Pope
A fixture on television for years, he was a mainstay on 'Ancient Aliens', the History Channel's longest-running documentary series.
He built a diverse career as a British media commentator and author, following a distinguished tenure as a civil servant.
During his time with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), he famously oversaw the official 'UFO desk', investigating sightings for the British government.
Though originally from the UK, he relocated to the United States in 2012, where he later married Elizabeth Weiss, an American anthropologist.
His body of work includes influential books like Open Skies, Closed Minds, which detailed his fascination with ufology—the study of what are now commonly known as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).
A Look at Nick Pope's Family and Career Legacy
Pope and Weiss tied the knot in 2011. A distinguished academic, she serves as Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at San Jose State University and is a board member for the National Association of Scholars.
The couple decided to marry while Pope was appearing at the International UFO Congress in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Their wedding followed a brief courtship, with Pope previously sharing that they had been dating for only '16 weeks' before they wed. Responding warmly on X, Weiss explained that when someone finds their perfect partner, there is no reason to delay.
Estimating Nick Pope's Financial Legacy
While Nick Pope's exact net worth was never publicly confirmed, his diverse career across government and media suggests he achieved significant financial success.
During the peak of his popularity, his 'Ancient Aliens Live' tour frequently played to sold-out audiences, with Financial Times reporting ticket prices ranging from $39 (£29.47) to nearly $200 (£151.15).
Beyond his live events, his earnings were bolstered by numerous television appearances, several published books, and his long-term tenure with the British government, with many experts believing his total wealth reached into the millions.

Rep. Eric Burlison calls for FBI probe into ‘deeply concerning’ scientist and military personnel disappearances and deaths
12:32 PM – Friday, April 3, 2026
The list of U.S. scientists and military personnel who have gone missing has grown in recent months, beginning with the July 4, 2024 disappearance of Frank Maiwald, a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory researcher.
Following several more high-profile disappearances—including a senior aerospace engineer and a retired Air Force General, Representative Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) is demanding a federal investigation.
Citing the “deeply concerning” ties these individuals share with advanced research, Burlison revealed that he has asked for the involvement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to determine if these incidents are connected or represent a targeted threat to national security.
“The disappearance of multiple scientists and military personnel with ties to advanced research is deeply concerning. I’ve already requested FBI involvement, and we will keep pressing for answers,” Burlison said Monday on X.
Most recently, William Neil McCasland, a retired Air Force general, went missing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on February 27th. He previously held a senior leadership role in the U.S. Air Force, overseeing technology and space research.
However, McCasland’s wife, Susan McCasland Wilkerson, said in a Facebook post on March 12th that she did not believe her husband’s disappearance was related to the classified information he had access to.
“It is true that when Neil was in the Air Force, he had access to some highly classified programs and information.
He retired from the AF almost 13 years ago and has had only very commonly held clearances since. It seems quite unlikely that he was taken to extract very dated secrets from him,” she wrote.
His disappearance has drawn significant attention to the case of Monica Reza, who vanished just months earlier while hiking. Notably, Reza had worked on a government-funded rocket materials project that had been overseen by McCasland.
“It’s remarkable that General McCasland apparently walked out of his home, left all of his devices and never came back,” Burlison told Fox News. “And Monica Reza, she was on a hike as well and mysteriously disappeared. And I’ve heard of others.”
When asked if authorities believe something nefarious may have happened on the disappearance of McCasland, Lieutenant Kyle Woods of the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office stated, “We haven’t ruled anything out, but we have nothing pointing to it either.”
Congressman Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), a member of the House Oversight Committee investigating UFO reports, weighed in, saying he believes the number of deaths in these research fields is too high to be coincidental.
“There have been several others throughout the country that have disappeared under suspicious circumstances. I think we ought to be paying attention to it,” said Congressman Burchett.
Timeline of Disappearances and Deaths (2025–2026)

Humans already in contact with aliens – US lawmaker
7 Apr, 2026 16:28
Extraterrestrial beings do not pose a threat to humanity, Tennessee Republican Representative Tim Burchett has said
Aliens have visited our planet traveling in an otherworldly craft and have made contact with humans, US Congressman Tim Burchett has claimed, citing unnamed government officials.
In the US, interest in UFOs and related phenomena has grown in recent years, due to the federal government backing the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and established channels for pilots and the public to report sightings.
“And they gave specifics, they gave addresses, they gave times and dates and people that were in the meeting,” Burchett said during a Monday livestream interview with TMZ. “And this went all the way up to the executive branch of previous presidents, not this current president.”
Answering the hosts’ questions, the 61-year-old congressman stressed that the claims referred both to “life that is not earthly” and to “something mechanical that’s not earthly.”
Burchett also said that he does not believe extraterrestrial beings pose a threat to humanity.
“I don't think we’re at danger of this. I mean, these things exist as I think they do, and they could have destroyed us with the blink of an eye, I just don’t see that,” he stressed.
In an interview with Newsmax a week earlier, the lawmaker also warned that releasing classified information about alleged alien encounters could shake public confidence.
“I’ve been briefed by just about every alphabet agency there is, and if they released what I’ve seen, you’d be up at night worrying about it,” he said.
Tim Burchett has emerged as a leading voice on disclosure of files regarding unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), pushing for greater government transparency.
He has alleged that various agencies, including NASA, have been “lying” about what they know and claims that many files on the subject remain undisclosed.
In February, US President Donald Trump announced plans to order the Department of War and other agencies to release government files related to UAPs and UFOs due to “tremendous interest.”
Shortly after that, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth confirmed that the American public would learn whether his department holds records proving the existence of aliens, but cautioned against expecting a swift release.
In March 2024, the Pentagon said it had no proof that any unidentified aerial phenomena are in fact alien technology, adding that many cases involved weather balloons, spy planes, satellites, and other routine activity.

New book uncovers secrets of government funded UFO investigation program: exclusive interview
Updated: Apr 7, 2026 / 11:17 AM PDT
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – In the early days of 2006, a career intelligence analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency named Dr. James Lacatski began a conversation with a colleague named Jay Stratton about UFOs and related phenomena.
The conversation focused on whether repeated UFO intrusions at sensitive military assets might represent a national security threat.
Both Lacatski and Stratton read a book about alarming reports of persistent UFO activity and seemingly paranormal phenomena at a remote ranch in northwestern Utah.
How might UFOs and the paranormal be related, and is it possible UFOs might be inadvertently generating other bizarre phenomena, including unidentifiable creatures, poltergeist-type events, animal mutilations, and more?
Lacatski received approval from higher-ups in DIA to visit the ranch property, accompanied by the property owner, Robert Bigelow, a Las Vegas businessman and aerospace tycoon.
While visiting the ranch, Lacatski and Stratton outlined a possible program to investigate UFOs and other unusual phenomena.
Lacatski convinced Nevada Senator Harry Reid to secure funding for such a program.
Bigelow and his subsidiary company, BAASS, obtained a contract from the DIA and the classified project known as AAWSAP, the Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Application Program, was born.
Over its 27-month existence, AAWSAP became the largest acknowledged government-funded UFO investigation in history, with 75 employees, including 50 full-time investigators, and hundreds of citizen personnel involved at some level.
It created the world’s largest UFO data warehouse along with more than 100 highly detailed scientific reports, none of which have been made public since AAWSAP ended.
Lacatski served as the director of AAAWSAP. Stratton was directly involved as well and later became the first director of the UAP Task Force.
Dr. Lacatski has authored or co-authored four books about AAWSAP and its findings. Every page of those books had to be approved by intelligence agencies and Pentagon sensors.
His fourth and final book about AAWSAP has just been published, “Final Visions.”
Lacatski spoke with George Knapp about the book and a possible follow-up program. This is that interview:

'What was that?': SpaceX rocket launch lights up Central California sky
Monday, April 6, 2026 11:38PM
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – A sight in the skies over Central California left many people wondering… "What was that?"
It appeared as a towering plume of white smoke, dotted with glowing spots.
That was a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, launching from Vandenberg Space Force Base along the Central Coast.
The rocket was carrying 25 Starlink satellites into lowEarth orbit.
About two and a half minutes after launch, the rocket's first and second stages separated.
The second stage continued on into space, while the first stage returned to Earth, making a safe landing on a drone ship off the coast of Baja California, Mexico.
SpaceX launches rockets from Vandenberg about once a week, but this one stood out.
Clear skies, combined with a twilight launch just after sunset, meant the rocket was still catching sunlight at higher elevations, making it especially visible across much of the Valley.
