A US destroyer tests the strength of the truce

The American destroyer USS Michael Murphy emerged from radio silence after 43 days of quiet and set course for the Strait of Hormuz — at a speed of 20 knots. Data from MarineTraffic and VesselFinder recorded its AIS signal on April 10, for the first time since the start of the truce between the US and Iran.

According to available information, it was this maneuver that provoked a sharp diplomatic episode. Iran, through Pakistani intermediaries, who had already been the architects of the two-week truce, warned: any uncoordinated passage would be considered a violation of the ceasefire. Tehran has already officially notified all ships — passage through the strait is only with the permission of the IRGC fleet. The destroyer turned back.

At the same time, Trump claims that the US is starting to clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz as a service to other countries, including China, Japan, and France.

The reality on April 11: the strait is formally open, but practically blocked. More than 800 ships are stranded in the Persian Gulf. Iran only allows through select countries — China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Iraq.

🚨🇮🇷🇺🇸🇨🇳🇷🇺 BREAKING: Iran has recovered a key component of one of the world's most advanced military aviation defense systems from the wreckage of a U.S. C-130 aircraft destroyed in Isfahan.

The part in question is the movable laser turret from the AN/AAQ-24(V) Nemesis system, better known as LAIRCM (Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures).

AIRCM is a sophisticated active defense system designed to protect large transport, refueling, and special operations aircraft from heat-seeking (infrared) missiles.

China & Russia will be very interested to compare designs, I'm sure…
