"Senators from both parties accused the Defense Department…of obstructing an investigation into whether a highly classified intelligence program known as Able Danger did indeed identify Mohamed Atta and other future hijackers as potential threats well before the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The Pentagon blocked several witnesses from testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The officers have said they were prevented by the Pentagon from sharing information about Mr. Atta and others with the [FBI]. The Pentagon has acknowledged that at least five members of Able Danger have said they recall a chart produced in 2000 that identified Mr. Atta, who became the lead hijacker in the Sept. 11 plot, as a potential terrorist."

Hijackers Were Not Identified Before 9/11, Investigation Says

The Defense Department's inspector general has concluded that a top secret intelligence-gathering program did not identify Mohamed Atta or any other hijacker before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, determining that there is no evidence to substantiate claims that Atta's name and photograph were on charts collected by military officials before the strikes. Pentagon officials said that the recollections of several officials involved in the "Able Danger" data-mining operation "were not accurate" and that a chart they said included a blurry image of Atta and his name never existed. The report concluded that there were no efforts to prevent contact between the Pentagon group and the FBI. The investigation began after members of Congress raised concerns over reports that Navy Capt. Scott Philpott and Army Reserve Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer remembered seeing Atta's photograph on documents collected by the intelligence program, and that the commission investigating the attacks had ignored their assertions. The assertions gained considerable steam when Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.) said…that, two weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks, he presented White House officials with a chart that depicted people affiliated with al-Qaeda, including lead hijacker Atta. "I am appalled that the DoD IG would expect the American people to actually consider this a full and thorough investigation," Weldon said. "I question their motives and the content of the report, and I reject the conclusions they have drawn." Shaffer has consistently maintained that he believes he saw Atta's image.

 

Note: This article is a prime example of how the media at times is seriously biased to support the official story of 9/11. I invite you to read the article and then read the many articles below. When a prominent Republican congressman and several military officers have clearly stated the opposite, is it really possible to conclude that "there is no evidence to substantiate claims that Atta's name and photograph were on charts collected by military officials before the strikes." Were these military and government representatives all lying, and if so, why?

More than 6,000 indecent images found on guilty ex-BBC producer's devices

 

A former BBC Wales producer has been found guilty of possessing or making more than 6,200 indecent images of children.

 

Dylan Dawes, 50, had been downloading the images over a 16-year period, using a hard drive, a compact laptop and two iPads.

 

His catalogue of images also included 192 of the most serious kind - classed as category A, the most serious.

 

The four-day trial at Cardiff Crown Court heard Dawes searched the term "jailbait" in Google, and all of the indecent images were saved in a file named, "Dylan Account" on his computer.

 

He was found guilty on all six charges.

 

Dawes claimed he allowed BBC colleagues to use his devices and hard drive for work, and someone else must have downloaded the images.

 

But judge Eugene Egan said the jury found Dawes guilty on what they found to be "overwhelming evidence".

 

Dawes joined the BBC in 2001. BBC Wales declined to comment.

 

He will be sentenced at a later date.

‘HUMILIATING DEFEAT’: UK Prime Minister Pulls Deal to Sacrifice Islands Housing Key US Military Base

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has pulled the deal to transfer sovereignty of the Chagos Islands—home to the pivotal U.K.-U.S. military base Diego Garcia—from the United Kingdom to Mauritius,after President Donald Trump fiercely opposed the measure.

 

While the U.K. and Mauritius signed a preliminary deal in May 2025,it still required parliamentary approval, and the United States has substantial input in the decision, as well. Britain had exiled the inhabitants of the Chagos Islands—a small series of atolls in the Indian Ocean strategically located between Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands—when detaching the islands from Mauritius before Mauritius gained independence in 1968.

 

“The decision by Britain’s Labour government to drop the Chagos bill from the king’s speech is a massive and humiliating defeat for Keir Starmer,” Nile Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal after the news broke Friday.

 

“Keir Starmer had made the Chagos surrender deal his top foreign policy priority, and the fact that this deal is no longer going through Parliament is a huge blow to Starmer’s far-left agenda,”Gardiner added.

 

While the Labour Party had hailed the deal as an effort to decolonize the Indian Ocean islands,critics warned that the deal would undermine the Diego Garcia U.S. military base. The agreement would have given Britain a 99-year lease for Diego Garcia.Critics also characterize Mauritius as a close Chinese ally, so surrendering the islands could strengthen China’s influence in the region.

 

The U.S. used Diego Garcia to launch some of the attacks in Operation Epic Fury.

 

“As the president has repeatedly stated, Diego Garcia’s strategic locationmakes it of great importance to the national security of the United States,” White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told The Daily Signal in a statement Friday. “He will never allow the U.S. presence at Diego Garcia to be undermined or threatened for any reason. Recent developments have proven him right once again.”

 

“Diego Garcia, a strategically placed island base, has enabled U.S. power throughout the Indian Ocean region, directly supporting and engaging in strike missions today in Iran, and during the Global War on Terror in Afghanistan,” Brent Sadler, a 26-year Navy veteran and senior research fellow at Heritage, told The Daily Signal.

 

“Loss of this base or compromising its operational viabilitythrough Chinese (or other powers’) encroachmenton it would be a severe blow to U.S. and Western influence and power projection in the region not easily replaced.”

 

Gardiner credited Trump’s opposition for the bill’s defeat, sayingTrump was the “key reason” behind it.

 

“The United States has stopped the Chagos surrender deal from moving forward and this is great news for the American people,and also, frankly, for the British people, as well,”he said.

 

“TheHeritage Foundation has led the fight against the Chagos dealin Washington for the last 18 months,” Gardiner added,calling the deal “one of the most dangerous threats to U.S. national security in many decades.”

 

“As long as President Trump is in office, there’s zero chance of the Chagos deal moving forward,” he concluded.

 

Liu Pengyu, a representative of the Chinese Embassy in the U.S., disputed concerns that China might have supported the Chagos Islands deal in order to weaken the U.S.

 

“China adheres to the fundamental principles of international relations, including mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs,” Liu told The Daily Signal.

 

“China firmly supports the United Nations decolonization process and fully understands and supports Mauritius’s legitimate and reasonable claims on decolonization.”

In a statement, the department said Secretary of State Marco Rubio had terminated the green card status of Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi and their son, who are now in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending removal.

 

“Eissa Hashemi is the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, also known as “Screaming Mary,” the infamous spokeswoman for the Islamist militants who stormed the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days,” read the statement.

 

The department said the three entered the United States in 2014 and were granted permanent residency in 2016 through the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.

 

It also said Rubio had recently revoked the legal status of relatives of former IRGC commander Ghasem Soleimani and of the daughter and son-in-law of former Iranian official Ali Larijani.

 

Rubio had earlier terminated the lawful permanent resident status of the niece and grandniece of former IRGC commander Qasem Soleimani, leading to their arrest by federal agents last week.

 

Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter are now in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the State Department.

 

The department alleged that Soleimani Afshar had publicly supported Iran’s government and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps while living in the United States, including through social media posts praising attacks on US forces and promoting regime messaging.

 

The statement also said Rubio earlier terminated the legal status of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, daughter of Ali Larijani, along with her husband Seyed Kalantar Motamedi, both of whom are no longer in the United States and are barred from reentry.

Péter Magyar is the leader of the Tisza Party and the main opposition candidate challenging Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in the upcoming April 12, 2026 Hungarian parliamentary elections.

 

A 45-year-old former Fidesz insider and lawyer, Magyar emerged as the most significant threat to Orbán's 16-year rule after publicly resigning from government positions in February 2024 following a presidential pardon scandal. He took over the previously minor Respect and Freedom (Tisza) Party, leading it to a historic 29.6% share of the vote and 7 seats in the 2024 European Parliament elections, currently positioning himself ahead of Orbán in national polls.

 

Background: Born in 1981 in Budapest, he previously served as a diplomat, head of the EU Legal Directorate at MBH Bank, and CEO of the Student Loan Center before breaking with Fidesz.

Political Platform: He campaigns on a "Now or never" slogan, promising to unlock frozen EU funds, tackle corruption, raise defense spending to 5% of GDP, and restore constructive relations with the EU and NATO.

Campaign Strategy: Magyar has built a massive support base through a marathon nationwide tour and by capitalizing on public discontent with Fidesz's handling of the economy and alleged collusion with Russia.
