Five killed, 12 injured in drone shelling on Zalingei in Sudan’s Central Darfur
Tuesday, April 28, 2026
The Sudan Doctors Network says drone shelling hit Zalingei in Central Darfur State, killing five civilians and injuring 12, including women.
The group reports patients were moved to medical facilities as health and humanitarian conditions deteriorate.
Five civilians were killed and 12 others, including women, were injured following shelling on the city of Zalingei in Central Darfur State by a drone.
The Sudan Doctors Network on Tuesday said the wounded were transferred to medical facilities for treatment, amid deteriorating medical and humanitarian conditions and a severe shortage of resources.
The Network called for an immediate halt to all forms of targeting of civilians by the parties to the conflict, stressing that targeting civilians and the use of civilian sites as military barracks exacerbate their suffering.
It also appealed to the international community and humanitarian organisations to urgently intervene to protect civilians and support the health sector, which it said is facing rapid collapse amid ongoing military operations.
The incident came days after seven other people were killed and 22 were injured following an alleged Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attack on El-Obeid in North Kordofan on Saturday.
The Network said the attack involved suicide drones targeting residential neighbourhoods within the city.
“The network condemns the deliberate targeting by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of civilian and densely populated neighbourhoods, stressing that the objective is not military but rather to inflict the highest possible number of civilian casualties.”
“This constitutes a grave violation of all humanitarian and international laws and norms. The targeting of residential areas with drones reflects a clear disregard for civilian lives, especially amid the deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions in the country,” the doctors said, adding that they have appealed to the relevant authorities to support health institutions in El-Obeid with medical supplies and personnel to help manage the growing number of injured and prevent further deterioration of the health situation.

IAF Seeks Three-Layered Drone Interception Architecture After Op Sindoor to Counter Emerging Swarm Threats
April 28, 2026 at 7:12 PM
Following the events of Operation Sindoor in May 2025, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is rapidly accelerating its efforts to establish a robust, close-range shield against enemy unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
The South Western Air Command (SWAC), based in Gandhinagar, has officially released a Request for Information (RFI) inviting domestic defence manufacturers to propose indigenous technologies capable of identifying, monitoring, and destroying hostile drones.
A Strategic Doctrinal Shift
This recent procurement effort highlights a major evolution in military doctrine, prioritising economical yet highly effective counter-drone measures.
During Operation Sindoor—a brief but intense conflict sparked by the Pahalgam terror attack—India faced a wave of retaliatory swarm attacks utilizing drones and loitering munitions from Pakistan.
While those threats were successfully neutralized by India's integrated air defence grids, the IAF now seeks to expand its capabilities with dedicated, autonomous platforms designed specifically for the modern, high-volume drone battlefield.
"Launch-and-Forget" Interceptor Drones
The primary objective of the RFI is the creation of a new generation of compact, "launch-and-forget" interceptor drones.
These advanced platforms will be engineered to pursue and eliminate threats independently once deployed. By utilizing built-in sensors, artificial intelligence for targeting, and automated guidance algorithms, these interceptors will operate without the need for constant manual piloting.
This technological leap will drastically minimize operator burden and ensure lightning-fast reaction times against agile, fast-moving swarms.
The Three-Tiered Defensive Shield
To ensure a secure and impenetrable airspace across varying altitudes and distances, the IAF's requirement details a comprehensive, three-stage interception network:
Tier 1 (Close-Range Protection): The foundational layer will feature a man-portable system designed for immediate battlefield use by frontline personnel. This easily transportable unit must detect and intercept low-altitude drones at heights up to 1,000 metres and within a 5-kilometre radius.
Tier 2 (Mid-Range Mobile Defence): The intermediate layer requires a vehicle-mounted platform capable of firing multiple interceptors in rapid succession (salvo firing). This system will target threats flying at altitudes of at least 5,000 metres and up to 10 kilometres away, specifically aimed at breaking up coordinated swarm formations.
Tier 3 (Long-Range Command Node): The apex layer involves a highly advanced system that serves a dual purpose: intercepting targets at altitudes of 7,000 metres and distances of 25 kilometres, while simultaneously acting as a centralized command-and-control hub. This node will fuse data from various sensors and seamlessly orchestrate multiple interceptors across the entire engagement zone.
Driving Indigenous Defence Innovation
Initiated by the Regional Aerospace Innovation Division in Gandhinagar (RAID-GN)—which recently also spearheaded the development of the 'Vayu Baan' helicopter-dropped drone—this effort underscores the IAF's commitment to harnessing the expertise of India's domestic aerospace industry.
By prioritizing homegrown technologies, the initiative directly supports the national pursuit of self-reliance in the defence sector, ensuring that the resulting military systems are perfectly adapted to India's unique terrain and operational challenges

How Neuralink allows man to fly drone with his mind
Updated: Apr 27, 2026 / 10:55 PM CDT
(NewsNation) — The second man to receive a Neuralink implant tells NewsNation his life has been changed immeasurably.
Alex Conley spoke exclusively with “Katie Pavlich Tonight” on Monday about how he can build things with a robotic hand and fly drones with his mind following the implantation of a brain chip.
Before Neuralink’s assistance, Conley suffered a spinal cord injury during a car rollover in 2021, leaving him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.
Conley has since regained his independence, with Neuralink allowing him to send direct signals to machinery, such as a drone or robotic arm.
“It’s kind of like going from not being able to do anything and confined to my chair and confined to a room. If a door is closed, I have no way to open it or get outside without aid from a caregiver or a family member,” Conley said of the arm.
“With that arm, it would allow me to actually open a door on my own and get outside without the help,” he added.
Before his accident, Conley loved using his hands as a welder, fabricator and mechanic, and thanks to Neuralink and computer-aided design software, he is back building again.
Using those systems, he built a holder for the Neuralink charger.
“The Neuralink engineers sent it to a guy in Phoenix, and he printed me my first part, and I had it the next day,” Conley said.
A big goal for Conley would be to build a part for Musk’s spaceship.
“But I don’t know if I’m quite qualified for that,” he said.
According to its website, Neuralink‘s brain-computer interface turns neural signals into actions, allowing computers and robotic arms to be controlled by thoughts, subsequently allowing “autonomy to those with unmet medical needs and unlock new dimensions of human potential.”
“I feel very honored that they decided to go with me” as the second implant recipient, Conley said.

US partnership aligns drone innovation for national security
April 28, 2026
From the skies over Ukraine to the southern U.S. border, drones are transforming the nature of global conflict and domestic security. Unauthorized unmanned aerial systems, and efforts to detect, track, identify and mitigate them, shape homeland security operations daily.
Drone-delivered kinetic attacks perfected in war zones are increasingly used to threaten critical infrastructure and mass gatherings at special events. At U.S. borders, transnational criminal organizations use UAS to transport illegal items and monitor law enforcement activities.
During the last six months of 2024, more than 27,000 drones were detected within 500 meters of the U.S. southern border, as reported in a recent Senate hearing on law enforcement, drone use and public safety.
Further, interference from UAS operations – both intentional and unintentional – impacts safety and efficiency at airports.
A strategic alliance with national impact
A new partnership aims to ensure America is leading in UAS/counter-UAS capabilities even as the technology and corresponding threats rapidly evolve.
In November, West Virginia University, Summit Point Training Facility and the Idaho National Laboratory signed a memorandum of understanding to create a collaborative framework uniting academia, national laboratory expertise and industry.
This partnership will establish a hub to develop, test and train UAS and counter-UAS technologies for national security.
The new collaboration will drive solutions focused on:
Early-phase UAS/counter-UAS system evaluations
High-fidelity data for smarter algorithms
Advanced sensor integration for real-time threat detection
Controlled, multi-environment testing to validate performance
Ensuring interoperability and readiness across systems
Border security applications
Air-based technology testing for layered defense
A national-scale effort
Together, WVU, SPTF and INL align the UAS/counter-UAS technology life cycle from early discovery at WVU, to applied science, engineering and validation at INL, to operational evaluation and industry engagement at SPTF.
Oversight and rigor: INL’s National and Homeland Security Testing Facilities, managed by Battelle Energy Alliance, support a wide variety of research, analysis, testing and validation opportunities for defense, federal and industrial collaborators.
“INL’s collective unmanned aerial system capabilities encompass a diverse range of UAS platforms with varying payload capacities,” said Bob Schumitz, director of INL’s Defense Systems Division.
“The 8,000 square miles of airspace provide an opportunity to conduct comprehensive and integrated research, development, testing and evaluation of solutions.”
1/2
INL’s co-located test beds allow exploration of commercial and military drone platform integration with advanced sensors for radiation detection, hyperspectral imaging and encrypted communications.
The site supports simulating congested and contested communications environments, and testing transmission, distribution and cybersecurity systems with the safety methods, rigor, data integrity controls and mission-risk focus of a national lab.
R1 Academic Research: As an R1 research institute — the highest classification of research activity in higher education — WVU’s department of mechanical and aerospace engineering brings nearly two decades of expertise in UAS research to the collaboration.
Across five specialized groups focused on applied aerodynamics, flight control, flight safety, autonomous navigation and cooperative robotics, the department is shaping the autonomy science narrative and standards participation for the field.
Operations Readiness: Just over an hour from Washington, D.C., SPTF brings a unique blend of proximity to the capital region, infrastructure and operational readiness to the partnership.
SPTF’s secure, adaptable range, unrestricted airspace, autonomous testing systems and connection to industry for quick solutions make it a go-to authority for government-sponsored live flight operations for homeland security applications.
“SPTF doesn’t require years of planning,” said National Security Programs Director Michael Norman. “It just requires a green light.”
The facility supports every phase of research, development, testing and evaluation. SPTF ensures swift technology transfer and intellectual property development from lab to field, accelerating solutions for the nation’s most pressing security challenges.
The partnership combines a DOE national laboratory’s test infrastructure, an RI research university’s autonomy expertise and a D.C.-proximate operational range to accelerate field-ready UAS and counter-UAS solutions.
Securing the skies
The partnership is positioned to deliver innovation in response to policy directives, technological advancement and imminent historic events.
Recent federal executive orders related to drone technology advancement, airspace sovereignty and state and local preparedness underscore the urgency for states and interagency partners to strengthen UAS and counter-UAS capabilities.
State, local, tribal and territorial governments are on the front lines of protecting critical infrastructure and must be equipped with tools to monitor and secure their airspace against evolving threats.
The Department of Homeland Security’s newly established Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems is supporting investment at all levels with industry engagement, expanded authorities for enforcement partners and rapid grant deployment to develop capabilities.
This imperative coincides with a historic wave of innovation driven by artificial intelligence, which is transforming both technology and regulatory frameworks, enabling proactive security measures while introducing new creative risks.
Looking ahead, major national events, including the FIFA World Cup, America’s 250th anniversary and the 2028 Olympics, will demand cutting-edge solutions to ensure safety and resilience.
Investing in drone research and development today positions the United States to meet these challenges, securing its skies and its future.
“Outside of defense applications, which are primarily focused on overseas threats, the partnership between WVU, SPTF and INL, combined with government investment, is the most significant coordination of UAS/C-UAS efforts in support of domestic national security we’ve ever seen, said INL’s Chief Homeland Security Advisor Ollie Gagnon.
“This is a great opportunity to deliver impact at an important and exciting time for our country.”

Horror as plane crashes in South Sudan and explodes into fireball - all passengers killed
Updated: 22:30, Mon, Apr 27, 2026
A Cessna aircraft crashed Monday in South Sudan's killing all 13 passengers and the pilot, the civil aviation authority said. The plane crashed and burst into flames in poor weather on the outskirts of South Sudan’s capital, Juba.
Preliminary reports indicate that the plane arriving from Yei town may have crashed due to weather conditions that caused poor visibility. The civil aviation authority said the dead included two Kenyans, and the rest were South Sudanese.
The authority said a team was dispatched to the site about 12 miles outside Juba. The Cessna 208 Caravan, which was operated by CityLink Aviation, lost communication while flying from Yei to Juba International Airport.
Air traffic control is understood to have lost contact with the plane after 30 minutes into the journey which would have been a distance of around 80 miles. Videos of the crash site shared on social media showed remains of the aircraft in flames.
The aviation authority also said a team has been sent to the site to gather information and support emergency services.
As reported by the BBC, more than 55 planes crashed in the country, resulting in dozens of fatalities, in the decade following independence in 2011.
In January 2025, 20 oil workers died after their aircraft, which was headed for Juba, came down three minutes after take-off near the oil fields of Unity state in the north.
The worst plane crash occurred in November 2015, when an Antonov plane crashed near Juba airport, killing 41 people, the BBC also wrote.

Man, 89, arrested after ‘four people shot and wounded’ in Greek capital
April 28, 2026
Police in Greece on Tuesday arrested an 89-year-old man who allegedly opened fire with a shotgun in a social security office and a court building in central Athens, wounding at least four people.
Law enforcement authorities said the man was arrested near the city of Patra, some 130 miles west of the Greek capital.
The gunman initially opened fire at the social security office, wounding an employee, police said. Officers who arrived at the scene treated the man, but the gunman fled.
Media aired security camera footage that it said was from a shop near the social security office, which showed a man walking calmly across the street carrying what appears to be a short-barrelled shotgun in his right hand.
The same man was suspected of later opening fire on the ground floor of a court building in another part of central Athens, with several people wounded there, police said, adding that authorities had found the shotgun.
Television footage showed ambulance crews taking at least three people from the court to waiting ambulances.
The head of the Athens Judicial Employees Union, Stratis Dounias, said that initial information indicated that the man had shot at the floor inside one of the offices in the court building.
At least three female court employees were slightly wounded by ricocheting shotgun pellets, while media reports said that a fourth female employee was taken to hospital without physical injuries.
The motive for the shooting was unclear. State broadcaster ERT said that the gunman had reportedly left envelopes with documents after the shooting at the court, saying those were the reasons for his actions.
Alexandros Varveris, head of the National Social Security Fund known by its Greek acronym EFKA, said the gunman had gone to the fourth floor of the social security fund’s offices in the Kerameikos area of central Athens and opened fire after calling out to an employee to duck.
His shot hit another employee, who was wounded in the leg, Mr Varveris said, adding that the gunman had been wearing a trench coat under which he had hidden the shotgun.
“He went in, went up to the fourth floor, raised his shotgun, told an employee to duck, and hit another one,” Mr Varveris told ERT radio. He said the gunman did not appear to specifically target the employee he hit.
The wounded employee was taken to hospital after police applied a tourniquet to his leg at the scene.
Gun violence is relatively rare in Greece, where firearm ownership is allowed but tightly regulated.

Pentagon Report Debunks UFO Claims as Navy's Tim Gallaudet Calls Ex-Chief Sean Kirkpatrick a 'Liar'
28 April 2026, 2:00 PM BST
A fierce public row has erupted over UFO claims after a Pentagon backed report dismissed alien theories, only for retired Navy figure Tim Gallaudet to hit back and accuse former government scientist Sean Kirkpatrick of spreading lies, turning what was meant to be a scientific conclusion into a bitter personal and political clash.
The dispute centres on findings released by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, the unit tasked with investigating unidentified aerial phenomena.
Under the leadership of Sean Kirkpatrick, the office produced a detailed report in 2024 examining decades of UFO sightings and claims.
Pentagon Reports Dismissed UFO Claims
The conclusion was clear. There was no credible evidence to support the existence of extraterrestrial technology or alien craft visiting Earth. Instead, many sightings were attributed to misidentified objects, natural phenomena, or classified human technology.
Officials described the findings as grounded in evidence and scientific analysis, aiming to bring clarity to a topic often clouded by speculation.
However, the report did not put the issue to rest. Instead, it appears to have deepened divisions between those who accept the findings and those who believe information is being concealed.
Why Tim Gallaudet Is Challenging The Findings
Tim Gallaudet, a former Navy rear admiral and oceanographer, has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the Pentagon's stance.
He has argued that the government has not been fully transparent about what it knows regarding UFOs and has accused officials of downplaying significant evidence.
In public statements and planned congressional testimony, Gallaudet has gone further by claiming that elements within the government are engaged in disinformation.
He has also suggested that unusual phenomena, including those in the oceans, may point to non human intelligence.
His criticism has not been limited to policy. Gallaudet directly targeted Kirkpatrick, labelling him a 'liar' and questioning the integrity of the investigation process.
The remarks have intensified an already heated debate and drawn attention to the growing divide within the UFO research community.
1/2
Sean Kirkpatrick Hits Back
Sean Kirkpatrick has responded forcefully to Gallaudet's accusations, rejecting them outright and defending both his work and the integrity of the investigation conducted by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office.
In a detailed statement, Kirkpatrick suggested that Gallaudet's views are rooted in conspiracy thinking rather than evidence. He argued that the Pentagon's findings are supported by both classified and public data and that claims of disinformation are a predictable reaction when conclusions do not match expectations.
Kirkpatrick also revealed tensions behind the scenes, claiming that some individuals associated with UFO advocacy had attempted to bypass official channels or avoid sharing information with investigators.
He described this as a barrier to objective analysis and insisted that the office had maintained transparency with authorised congressional committees.
He further acknowledged that minor errors were present in parts of the report but stressed that these did not affect its overall conclusions.
The UFO Debate
The public fallout between Gallaudet and Kirkpatrick highlights a deeper struggle over how UFO claims should be investigated and communicated.
On one side are officials emphasising evidence based conclusions. On the other are figures who believe critical information is being withheld from the public.
The dispute also reflects a broader cultural divide. Interest in UFOs has surged in recent years, fuelled by declassified footage, whistleblower accounts, and online discussion. At the same time, official efforts to provide explanations have often been met with scepticism.
For now, the Pentagon's position remains unchanged. The available evidence does not support claims of alien technology. Yet the intensity of the backlash suggests the conversation is far from over.
As figures like Tim Gallaudet prepare to bring their concerns to Congress, and voices like Sean Kirkpatrick continue to defend the scientific findings, the debate over UFOs appears set to remain one of the most polarising issues at the intersection of science, government, and public belief.

UFO Entities Warned US Officials Their War On God Has Begun In Chilling Secret Contact Claims
28 April 2026, 9:20 AM BST
A documentary released this week is drawing attention online for claims that unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) may be linked to 'interdimensional entities' described in religious texts, including warnings of a coming 'war on God'.
The film, produced by Fall Brothers Productions and published on YouTube by End Times Productions on 27 April 2026, features researchers Justin and Wes Fall.
They argue that UFOs are not extraterrestrial spacecraft but non-human entities with a supernatural origin, a view they say aligns with certain biblical interpretations.
The claims have spread widely across social media. However, no publicly available evidence from US government agencies or scientific institutions supports the conclusions presented in the film.
FBI Memo at Centre of Claims
At the centre of the documentary is FBI document 6751, a memo from the late 1940s available through the FBI's online archive.
The document describes alleged 'visitors' from another plane of existence, claiming they are human-like, larger in size and capable of travelling between dimensions. It also states the information was obtained through 'so-called supernormal means.'
In the film, the Falls present the memo as evidence that US authorities were aware of interdimensional beings decades ago.
Historical records provide important context. The document was an unsolicited letter sent to the FBI by a private individual. It does not represent an official investigation, conclusion or verified intelligence assessment by the agency.
Claims of Contact Remain Unverified
The documentary also includes claims that US officials may have had contact with non-human entities.
Some accounts suggest these beings warned of a future conflict involving humanity and a divine power, described in the film as a coming 'war on God'. No declassified records or confirmed government reports support these claims.
The US Department of Defense's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which reviews UAP cases, has stated that its investigations have not found evidence of extraterrestrial technology or hidden government programmes involving non-human entities.
Historical Events and Groups Cited Without Evidence
The film also links its argument to the 'Babalon Working', a series of occult rituals carried out in 1946 by rocket engineer Jack Parsons.
Parsons' involvement in occult practices is historically documented. However, there is no evidence connecting those activities to UFO sightings or to any government programme involving non-human entities.
The documentary also references a supposed group known as the 'Collins Elite', described as a faction within the US government that viewed UFO phenomena as demonic. No public records confirm the existence of such a group.
NASA and Pentagon Reviews Find No Supporting Evidence
Government and scientific reviews of UAPs have focused on aviation safety, sensor data and national security concerns.
A 2023 report by NASA found that many UAP sightings cannot be explained due to limited or low-quality data and called for improved data collection. The report did not identify evidence linking UAPs to extraterrestrial or interdimensional origins.
US defence assessments have similarly attributed many sightings to airborne objects, sensor anomalies or misidentification, while some cases remain unresolved.
Public Interest Continues Despite Lack of Proof
Interest in UAPs has increased in recent years following the release of military footage and congressional briefings.
The documentary's claims rely on interpretations of historical material, religious texts and personal testimony. While the FBI memo referenced in the film is authentic, its contents originate from unverified claims submitted by a private individual.
No official investigation has concluded that UAPs are linked to interdimensional or supernatural entities.

First Alien Contact In 2026? Baba Vanga's Prediction Warns Of THIS Month
Updated Apr 27, 2026, 10:55 IST
Baba Vanga, also known as the 'Nostradamus of Balkans', is known for her bang-on predictions over the years. From Princess Diana's death to the COVID-19 pandemic, she predicted all of it.
Her prophecies make headlines every now and then, and especially when a new year is about to begin. And then they keep resurfacing throughout the year.
For 2026, among her most debated and mysterious visions are the ones that have been linked to extraterrestrial life.
Yes! A prophecy that has resurfaced says that 2026 might finally be the year when aliens will make first contact with humans - up front!
As per the prediction, the contact will be made in November next year. She reportedly went as precise as talking about a spacecraft entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
This is when, on July 16, 2025, the preprint server arXivAs published a report cited by the New York Post and South West News Service, which claims that a team of scientists have warned of an alien spacecraft heading toward Earth.
They could launch an attack as early as this November. Named 3I/ATLAS, the object was first detected on July 1 and is racing toward the Sun at over 130,000 miles per hour. Just a day after its discovery, astronomers confirmed that it originated from outside our solar system.
Initial observations suggested that it might be a comet, approximately 15 miles in diameter.
However, in their paper, researchers Avi Loeb, Adam Hibberd, and Adam Crowl from the Initiative for Interstellar Studies have also propose that 3I/ATLAS might not be a natural object but rather a piece of extraterrestrial spy technology in disguise.
How true is this going to turn out? Only time can tell!
What Else Did Baba Vanga Predict For 2026?
Global War: This is one of the most scary forecasts. Vanga has predicted the possibility of a Third World War. As per reports, she foresaw some major clashes between powers.
This includes a potential Chinese offensive against Taiwan and a scenario of direct military confrontation between Russia and the United States.
Natural Disasters: One of Baba Vanga's most alarming predictions for 2026 is about extreme natural events. According to reports, she foresaw many massive earthquakes, violent volcanic eruptions and extreme weather conditions.
AI Domination: Lastly, as per Vanga, 2026 could be a turning point for artificial intelligence. Machines will start dominating massive key sectors, raising concerns about mass unemployment, ethical dilemmas and loss of human agency.
Economic Crisis: Baba Vanga predicted a major economic downturn in 2026. This may include a collapse in currency systems, banking failures, market crashes and even lead to high inflation rates.
Asia To Become A Global Power: As per prophecies, 2026 could mark a significant shift towards Asia's dominance, especially China. This may also include increased influence over Taiwan or strategic expansion in the South China Sea
