There's more that goes into it than what's apparent on the surface though. People understand and process information in different ways. Intellectual capacity and biases are two things which play a heavy role in determining what someone gets out of the communication of ideas, which aren't clear to outside observers (though not at all the only things). On the flip side, no statement made is a perfect vehicle for communicating the idea which inspired someone to attempt to communicate it.
Ultimately if you want to communicate you've got to do the best you can to express the ideas you're trying to impart, then accept that beyond that it's entirely up to others as to whether or not they're capable of interpreting what you've expressed, knowing it's never going to be perfect and being willing to live with that.
