The Lebanese Health Ministry has accused the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) of deliberately targeting medics during airstrikes on the country.

Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue to intensify despite a US-brokered ceasefire between the sides, which took effect in mid-April.

The latest wave of IDF strikes on Lebanon left 51 people dead, including two medics, the country’s health ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

“The Israeli enemy continues to violate international laws and humanitarian norms, adding more crimes against paramedics, as it directly targeted two points of the Health Authority in Qalawiya and Tibnin, Bint Jbeil district, in two raids,” the statement read.

According to the ministry’s data, 2,846 people were killed when Israel launched its military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon on March 2, just days after attacking Iran together with the US. More than 550 of those deaths occurred after the truce had been introduced.

The UN said earlier that at least 103 Lebanese medical workers have been killed and 230 injured in more than 130 IDF strikes during the current escalation.

Israel already faces accusations of deliberately hitting ambulances and hospitals during the conflict in Gaza, with West Jerusalem saying they were targeted due to being used by Palestinian armed group Hamas.

War surgeon Tahir Mohammed, who worked in both the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, told Al Jazeera that “we used to see our colleagues in Gaza come through the door all the time. I’ve had colleagues, nurses, medical students killed by Israeli weapons, and so to see the same policy of targeting healthcare workers in Lebanon… it’s consistent.”

The IDF said on Sunday that it targeted more than 20 facilities of Hezbollah in several areas of southern Lebanon, including weapons depots, command centers and other “buildings used for military purposes.”

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam told Al-Arabiya the same day that a total of 86 villages in the south of the country remain under Israeli occupation. The Lebanese city of Bint Jbeil has become “a copy of Gaza” due to the vast scale of destruction, he said.

Euroskeptic FPO leader Christian Hafenecker has called on Vienna’s money laundering watchdog to investigate

A right-wing Austrian politician has demanded that the country’s Finance Ministry explain how nearly $22 billion in cash and gold was shipped to Ukraine from Austria since 2022 without triggering concerns about money laundering or regulatory oversight.

In a statement published on Sunday, Austrian Freedom Party (FPO) Secretary General Christian Hafenecker called out what he described as Vienna’s “two-class justice system” for overlooking massive payments to Kiev, while keeping a tight hold on taxpayers’ purse strings.

“We’re not talking about play money here: 1,030 registered cash and gold shipments, around €12 billion ($14 billion) plus $7.75 billion, physically transported over 1,300 kilometers into the war zone,” Hafenecker said.

“And the responsible finance minister simply tells me… ‘We know nothing, we’re not investigating anything, we haven’t collected any information.’ That’s not an answer, that’s dereliction of duty,” he added.

By comparison, Austrian money laundering rules require a private citizen withdrawing as little as €12,000 from an inherited account to prove the origin of the funds, and any person crossing the EU’s external border with more than €10,000 in cash must declare it, Hafenecker said. “This is a two-class justice system in finance.”

The politician demanded full disclosure on all cash shipments from Austria to Ukraine since the escalation of the conflict, a full audit by the country’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority, and a report by the Austrian Money Laundering Reporting Office in parliament.

Earlier this year, the Euroskeptic FPO party demanded that Vienna cut all financial aid to Ukraine, denouncing the country as a corrupt “bottomless pit,” following a wave of high-level embezzlement scandals in Kiev.

Major probes by Ukraine’s Western-backed anti-graft agencies have implicated senior officials in Vladimir Zelensky’s government since last year. Two ministers and the Ukrainian leader’s chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, stepped down following the massive scandal.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has slammed the current leadership in Kiev, calling it a “criminal gang” sitting on “golden potties,” and interested far more in personal enrichment than in the fate of ordinary Ukrainians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that he plans to “wean” his country off US financial aid within the next decade, while blaming social media “manipulation” for declining public support for his country among Americans.

Israel is the largest recipient of aggregate US foreign aid since World War II, having received more than $300 billion in economic and military assistance from Washington since 1948.

Under a ten-year agreement signed in 2016, the US committed $38 billion in military aid to Israel through 2028, including $5 billion for the Iron Dome missile defense system. Overall, American assistance accounts for roughly 16% of the country’s military budget.

In an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes aired on Sunday, Netanyahu was asked whether it was time for the Jewish state to “reexamine and possibly reset” its financial relationship with Washington.

“Absolutely. I’ve said this to President Trump. I’ve said it to our own people. Their jaws drop,” he replied.

“I want to draw down to zero the American financial support, the financial component of the military cooperation that we have,” the prime minister said, stating that the process should “start now” and be completed “over the next ten years.”

Netanyahu noted that he is well aware of declining support for Israel in the US. A recent Pew poll indicated that six in ten Americans have a very or somewhat unfavorable view of Israel, up seven percentage points since last year and nearly 20 points since 2022.

The Israeli leader outright dismissed the notion that the war in Gaza might have “contributed to this negative impression of Israel,” blaming the shift almost entirely on social media.

“Israel is besieged on the media front, on the propaganda front, and we’ve not done well on the propaganda war,” he said.

“We have several countries that basically manipulated social media with bot farms with fake addresses, to break the American sympathy to Israel.”

Zelensky Touts That 20 Countries Seek Ukraine Drone Deals

Ukraine is emerging as a global drone export powerhouse, coming fresh off vast experience gained in over four years of war with Russia - or at least that's the image Kiev is seeking to present to the world.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that nearly 20 countries are pursuing drone agreements with Ukraine, with four deals already finalized.

Agreements already confirmed include deals with Germany, Norway and the Netherlands, alongside ‌long-term security partnerships with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates which were inked in late March as Zelensky personally toured the Gulf, even amid the ongoing Iran war, according to Reuters.

Zelensky has been offering Ukraine's services and drone supplies to Gulf countries as a cheaper, effective alternative to dwindling and costly American-supplied anti-air defenses.

"Nearly 20 countries are currently involved at various stages: 4 agreements have already been signed, and the first contracts under these agreements are now being prepared," Zelensky has newly proclaimed on X.

"Ukraine has ​already ⁠started to receive the necessary volume of fuel thanks to the agreements," Zelensky also stated. Interestingly, he's also of late been pitching being a supplier of battlefield robots, as we've detailed before.

Starting in April, Zelensky had hailed that Ukrainian personnel were able to help partners build effective air defenses using interceptor drones to combat Iranian Shaheds.

Low-cost interceptor drones deployed by Ukraine are among the most effective ways to combat the inexpensive $20,000 Shaheds, as a war of attrition makes little economic sense when interceptor missiles cost hundreds of thousands of dollars or more.

Ukraine has had four years to develop low-cost one-way attack drones and interceptors during its war with Russia. Now, this technology is clearly being exported across multiple theaters in Eurasia.

Zelensky did not identify the countries or the exact interceptor drones used in his comments at the time, but it is possible that Octopus-100 autonomous interceptor drones were deployed.

The South Carolina Conservative Action Alliance (SCCAA) explicitly told the IRS it did not spend a single dime on electoral politics in 2015.

There’s just one problem:

Federal Election Commission records tell a completely different story.

According to the FEC, SCCAA contributed a massive $140,000 to the Security is Strength PAC in September 2015.

At the exact same time, that super PAC was funding independent expenditures to prop up Graham’s struggling presidential campaign.

That $140,000 contribution accounted for nearly 90 percent of the non-profit's total spending for the entire year.

When pressed on the tax forms, SCCAA claimed the money was spent on "lobbying."

However, neither federal nor state records show SCCAA ever employing a single lobbyist.

This is not an isolated incident.

Another non-profit donor to the same pro-Graham super PAC, Freedom Frontier, told the IRS it raised no more than $50,000 in 2015.

Yet, the Security is Strength PAC reported receiving a staggering $250,000 from Freedom Frontier just months later.

The discrepancy means someone is lying to federal authorities.

Either the non-profits are hiding their political activities from the IRS, or the super PAC is falsifying its donor reports.

The ties between SCCAA and Graham run deep.

The group’s board chairman, David Wilkins, is a former ambassador who has publicly described himself as "good friends" with Graham since 1992.

Furthermore, SCCAA’s records are maintained by the daughter of Richard Quinn, a powerful political consultant currently the focus of an ongoing corruption probe in South Carolina.

In 2015, Graham’s presidential campaign paid Quinn’s firm over $134,000.

“Every small local newspaper must assume legal responsibility if it has disseminated something false or unlawful,” Döpfner said. “But while TikTok reaches over two billion users, the platform bears virtually no responsibility.”

He said Europe should follow the US example and require TikTok to be sold to non-Chinese owners.

WJC President Ronald S. Lauder, who introduced Döpfner, offered his own criticism of international media coverage of Israel.

“This is especially true in journalism and media right now, when it is hard to tell the difference between the BBC and Al Jazeera,” Lauder said.

Lauder praised Döpfner as “a righteous gentile” and described him as a rare media figure willing to defend Israel publicly.

“When journalism distorts the news about Israel every day, Mathias holds fast,” Lauder said.

Former President and CEO of Failed Oklahoma Bank Pleads Guilty to Bank Fraud

OKLAHOMA CITY – DANNY SEIBEL, the former president and CEO of the now-defunct First National Bank of Lindsay (FNBL), has pleaded guilty to one count of bank fraud, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

According to court documents, Seibel, 55, of Lindsay, Oklahoma, was an executive at FNBL from in or around February 2007 until his termination in September 2024. As alleged, Seibel caused FNBL to issue loans to certain customers, many of whom were his personal friends and neighbors, that the borrowers never repaid. Seibel then manipulated the bank’s records and falsified various bank reports to falsely overstate the performance of the loans, including by using new loans or transfers of the bank’s own funds to cover overdrafts of outstanding loans.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency appointed a receiver for the bank in October 2024.

On December 3, 2025, a federal grand jury charged Seibel with bank fraud. Yesterday, Seibel pleaded guilty and admitted he knowingly executed a scheme to defraud the First National Bank of Lindsay. At sentencing, he faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

FDIC-OIG, FBI, IRS-CI, and FHFA-OIG investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Julia E. Barry and Jackson D. Eldridge for the Western District of Oklahoma, and Trial Attorneys Mark Goldberg, Elysa Q. Wan, and J. Ryan McLaren of the Criminal Division’s Money Laundering, Narcotics and Forfeiture Section are prosecuting the case.

The Money Laundering, Narcotics and Forfeiture Section’s Bank Integrity Unit investigates and prosecutes banks and other financial institutions, including their officers, managers and employees whose actions threaten the integrity of the individual institution or the wider financial system.

On April 7, the Department of Justice announced the creation of the National Fraud Enforcement Division (“Fraud Division”). The Fraud Division is laser-focused on investigating and prosecuting those who commit fraud against the American people. The Department’s work to combat fraud supports President Trump’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, a whole-of-government effort chaired by Vice President J.D. Vance to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse within Federal benefit programs.
