Trump says ‘I’d pay’ anti-weaponization fund applicants ‘the kind of money they deserve’
In an exclusive interview with Meet the Press, President Trump says “the weaponization fund is a great idea” and if Republicans “don't get it approved, I'd be disappointed.” Asked whether anyone who attacked police officers on January 6 should get taxpayer money, Trump says, “I wouldn't be inclined to say so, but I have to see it.”

in her closing, Kristen Welker said Trump agreed to another sit-down with her, in part due to all the technically difficulties. Hopefully the White House sends her a binder of J6 Truth before then.

The Hidden Regime that Moved Your Rights into Digital Code | Jacob Siegel
There are few people who understand the machinery behind modern disinformation and censorship better than Jacob Siegel. He’s a special features editor at Tablet Magazine and author of the new book “The Information State: Politics in the Age of Total Control.”
In this episode, we trace the origins of modern information control, from President Woodrow Wilson’s propaganda office during World War I and President Barack Obama’s “whole-of-society” framework, to the policing of information during the COVID-19 pandemic. He breaks down how government agencies, major tech platforms, and large nonprofits can work together behind the scenes to control who gets to speak and who does not, and what ideas are expressed and which are obscured. “If you can control the information, you can control the society,” Siegel said. And the digital age makes this possible to a degree never reached before, he added. So, how has this transformed our society and our liberties?
“The principles of the constitutional order, the principles of the liberal nation state have begun to be profoundly eroded by this new kind of information-based political regime,” Siegel said. “Those rights are relocated into the digital code, so the question of who can speak, who can express their ideas, is no longer clearly defined and delimited by these print-era documents. Now it becomes a question of who controls the digital code.” According to Siegel, the transition to the digital era has resulted in a vast “sweeping away of previously existing local organizations [and] civic organizations.” And more recently, we have been witnessing, whether we are aware of it or not, what he calls the “vast acceleration of the erasure of core remnants of civil society.” So how do we navigate this new digital arena, especially with the rise of artificial intelligence?

The Information State: Politics in the Age of Total Control.
The Information State is an incisive examination of how we reached the point where anything that contradicts the dominant narrative can be labeled dangerous disinformation. Tablet contributor Jacob Siegel charts how the technological infrastructure built to make society safer and more rational has steadily replaced democratic freedoms with systems of digital control. Commercial Internet applications now double as military-grade surveillance and influence tools. Government tech partnerships established after 2001 in response to the global war on terror took on a life of their own and now target Americans.
Instead of competing for voters’ support, the information state uses censorship, mass surveillance, and algorithmic manipulation to shape public perceptions as it tries to engineer reality. Government officials requested that social media companies boost stories about Donald Trump’s alleged connections to Russia, while censoring those about Hunter Biden’s laptops, the origins of the COVID-19 virus, and the war in Ukraine.
An alliance between government and tech companies formed to wage the war on terror has evolved into an unholy new kind of technocratic state and turned against America’s own citizens. Laws signed by President Obama as he left office fused together the media, NGOs, the national security complex, and big tech companies into an unelected ruling party. In short, the information war came home and completely overtook American politics during the hyperpolarization of the Trump era and the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Information State is an urgent, necessary book that sounds the alarm on where society is headed in the age of AI if we don’t relearn how to think for ourselves and ask searching questions about whether information can ever be a substitute for truth.
