A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani province in Mindanao early Monday morning, triggering tsunami warnings and causing reported building collapses in the General Santos area.

The quake hit at approximately 7:37 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located roughly 26 kilometers southwest of Kablalan in Sarangani Province. The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the event at magnitude 7.8, while the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) initially reported a preliminary magnitude of 7.0.

Tsunami Warning Issued

Phivolcs immediately issued a tsunami warning for coastal communities across multiple provinces in Mindanao. Residents in Sarangani, Davao Occidental, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and several other areas were advised to evacuate to higher ground immediately due to the risk of waves exceeding one meter. The warning remains in effect as authorities monitor the situation.

Strong shaking was widely felt across Mindanao, including in Davao City. Intensity reached very strong levels in parts of Sarangani and nearby provinces.

No official casualty figures have been released as of this report. Authorities are still assessing the full extent of damage. Aftershocks have continued in the hours following the mainshock, including at least one magnitude 5.0 event.

In other words, as we explained at the time, when all the other sources of funds dried up - clearly a scenario the company is considering judging by her response - the company would have to come to the US taxpayer.

Friar further explained that "Federal loan guarantees would really drop the cost of the financing," enabling OpenAI and its investors to borrow more money at lower rates to meet the company's ambitious targets. Right… because there is nothing like a company with $14BN in revenue, $1 trillion in "valuation" and $1.4 trillion in commitments, than loading up to the gills with government-backstopped debt… if only Enron and Lehman had thought to do the same, both would still be around.

Anyway, after the market vividly demonstrated it was less than enthused by this proposal, sending shares in the AI sector sharply lower as it signaled OpenAI itself doubted it would have the financial wherewithal to meet its obligations, the company promptly shelved any discussion of a taxpayer bailout backstop Federal loan guarantee, and even prompted a rare tweet from Sam Altman to explain why Sarah didn't really mean the things she said.

All that changed late last week, when Donald Trump caught much of the AI industry by surprise when he threw his weight behind a radical proposal for companies such as OpenAI to hand equity stakes to the American people.

Former Supermodel and Movie Star Carré Otis Files a Court Complaint Against Elite Model Agency Head for Raping and Trafficking Her

Even with the statute of limitations in France having expired, Otis wants to help other victims come forward.

The former American supermodel and movie star Carré Otis filed a complaint Friday (5) at a Paris court against the former European head of Elite Model agency, Gérald Marie.

Otis alleges that Marie raped and trafficked her, starting in the 1980’s, in a move designed to encourage other potential victims to come forward.

Otis is known by many as the star of the torrid 1989 Zalman King movie Wild Orchid, in which she co-starred with Mickey Rourke and Jacqueline Bisset.

“Marie has denied the allegations and cannot be prosecuted over Otis’ case because of France’s statute of limitations. But the complaint could allow other women, whether their cases are time-barred or not, to join the proceedings, Otis’ lawyer, Mathias Darmon, said in a statement to The Associated Press.”

The Associated Press is reporting that the complaint alleges ‘rape of a minor’ and ‘human trafficking’.

“Sent to Paris in 1986 by Elite Model agency, Otis, who was then 17, was housed in Marie’s apartment, “mistakenly believing that he wanted to support her modeling career,” according to the complaint. ‘While living in the apartment, she alleges that she was raped on multiple occasions by the accused, who subsequently arranged for her to be provided to other wealthy men across Europe’.”

The case bears striking similarities with the allegations against alleged serial rapist Jean-Luc Brunel, a famous French modeling agent tied to Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his cell in the Paris La Santé prison.

“Otis was never paid for her modeling work, the complaint said. ‘The goal is to give other victims the opportunity to find the courage to join our complaint’, Darmon said. ‘We are opening the door for all those affected by this internationally significant case to come forward and have their voices heard’.

French broadcaster France Info reported Friday that Otis said she wanted to ‘denounce an entire system of sexual abuse of models that lasted for years in the fashion industry’, drawing parallels to the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein case.”

Iran pounds occupied territories with missiles, warns of 'more crushing blows' if Lebanon attacks persist

Iranian armed forces launched a missile barrage at Israeli-occupied territories on Sunday, responding to persistent Israeli attacks on Lebanon in breach of the ceasefire.

Sirens blared in wide areas, including the occupied Golan Heights, Tiberias, Safed, Nazareth, Haifa, and several other cities, according to Israeli media.

The Israeli military said air defense systems remain on high alert, while the regime’s education ministry announced the closure of all schools and educational centers for the coming day due to security conditions.

The Iranian operation came as a direct response to the Zionist regime’s continued aggression against Lebanon, including the use of banned phosphorus bombs and the targeting of Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahiyeh).

A US official reportedly says that the US military did not take part in the overnight Israeli strikes on Iran.

The Axios news site cites a US defense official who also says that the Israeli strikes were “relatively limited.”

US President Donald Trump had urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold off on any retaliation amid ongoing diplomacy, and Axios had earlier reported that the Israeli premier “pseudo-agreed” to the demand.
