From Rationing To Digital Permission: The Food Passport Grid Is Already Being Built

The coming food crisis is not only about higher prices, empty shelves, or broken supply chains. Those are only the visible symptoms. The deeper issue is much darker: even if the shelves are full, even if the product is available, and even if you still have money or credit, the final question may no longer be, “Can I afford this?” It may become, “Am I still allowed to buy this?”

A more detailed video version of this argument is available on my YouTube channel, Financial Argument.

But the core idea is simple: this crisis is worse than the 1970s, rationing has already begun, the digital infrastructure is already being built, and the next stage may combine shortages with much tighter digital controls.

That is the real meaning of the Food Passport.

Not a paper passport.

Not a dramatic announcement.

Not necessarily one single app with the words “Food Passport” on the screen.

A Food Passport is a system where identity, payment, eligibility, rationing, subsidies, quotas, and access are merged into one digital permission layer.

And that system is no longer theoretical.

The pieces are already being placed on the table.

First comes the crisis.

Then comes the shortage.

Then comes the public reaction.

Then comes the solution that was already waiting.

A system that promises stability while increasing control.

That is how rationing becomes normal. That is how digital ration cards become convenient. That is how emergency restrictions become permanent infrastructure. And that is how basic access to food, fuel, electricity, water, and transportation can gradually move from price-based access to permission-based access.

Most people are still watching oil prices, grocery bills, drought warnings, fuel lines, electricity restrictions, and supply-chain disruptions as separate events.

They are not seeing the operating system being built underneath them.

Netanyahu moves NIS 1 billion settlement funding plan to closed security cabinet debate

The proposal would fund temporary housing, public buildings, roads, water and sewage infrastructure in 61 West Bank settlements, including outposts and neighborhoods the government has moved to authorize

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided on Thursday evening to postpone a government discussion on allocating 1 billion shekels (around 337 million dollars) for the establishment of dozens of new settlements in the West Bank. The discussion was transferred to a meeting of the security cabinet in order to keep the decision confidential, apparently with the aim of avoiding international criticism.

Since taking office in December 2022, the government has approved the establishment of 103 new settlements. Some had previously been created as “neighborhoods” of existing settlements, while others began as unauthorized outposts. The decision would enable their formal legalization.

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte: This Northern Border State Still Has a ‘Southern Border Problem’

Montana did not let rogue Democrat-led cities circumvent the state’s law outlawing sanctuary cities, and even though it is a northern border state, it still has a “southern border problem,” Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte (R) said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily.

Gianforte, who is the leader of the Republican Governors Association, walked through what he did in his state on the issue of illegal immigration, offering an example for other red states facing similar opposition.

“I signed a law that said no sanctuary cities, and we had a couple of rogue communities that didn’t want to follow the law,” he said.

Instead of letting it go, the governor “went shoulder to shoulder with our Attorney General and said you might want to reconsider this, because you need to work with law enforcement.”

“And fortunately, it was our capital city of Helena, which happens to be a blue city. They had passed a resolution saying we’re not going to work with ICE,” he said, explaining that his office sent them a “kind letter” warning that they were violating the law. With that, the blue city ultimately rescinded the resolution.

“So, we work with our federal law enforcement partners, and although Montana’s a northern border state, we’ve seen the effect of the Biden open border policy with drugs flooding into our communities,” the governor said, revealing that authorities in his state have arrested “cartel members on our Indian reservations and in Bozeman, Montana.”

Even though they are on the northern border, Montana still has a “southern border problem,” Gianforte said.

“Our drugs that we’re seeing — whether it’s fentanyl or cocaine — it’s coming from Mexico,” he revealed. “We got rid of the Montana meth, now we have Mexican meth, and it’s gotten better, but we need to continue to work to get these criminals off the street,” he said, explaining that northern border security is not much of a problem compared to the continuing impacts of the southern border.

“Montana has the largest border with Canada of any state, and but there aren’t that many crossings, and it’s pretty rural. I won’t say there’s no issues, but most of the drugs we’re seeing coming into Montana are coming up I-15 from Mexico,” he added.
