"subject to the jurisdiction thereof" apparently no longer carries its original meaning (vis-a-vis children of slaves) of "and no other jurisdiction" (albeit the latter language was not spelled out in the 14th Amendment itself).
Next up (as a result of todays ruling)? - Dual citizenship scrutiny through a national security lens (also long overdue, especially in public office and security clearance holders).
