Fort Knox Standoff: Bessent Says All The Gold Is There, Says America 'Used To Be Backed' By It

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has once again assured the public that America's gold reserves remain fully intact, pushing back against years of speculation surrounding the legendary vaults at Fort Knox. In a Fox News interview with Jesse Watters that aired Monday night, Bessent reiterated his standing assurance that every ounce of the nation's bullion is "present and accounted for" - while making no plans to visit the Kentucky depository himself.

"I am happy to say all gold is present and accounted for. The U.S. has the largest pile of gold in the world, over a trillion dollars, at current market value," Bessent told Watters.

His comments come amid renewed calls from lawmakers and gold advocates for a comprehensive, independent audit - the first large-scale public verification since 1974.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appeared on Fox News business yesterday. During the conversation with Jesse Waters, he made several key statements.

One of them… “we [the $USD] used to be backed by silver, sometimes gold.”

And a few moments later regarding Fort Knox…

“all gold is present and account for… the U.S. has the largest pile of gold in the world, over a $1 trillion at current market value.”

Officially, the United States holds the world's largest gold stockpile, valued at more than $1 trillion at current market prices. According to Treasury data, the Fort Knox depository alone contains 147,341,858.382 fine troy ounces of gold - roughly 56% of the federal government's total reserves, and about 59% of the bullion held in the Mint's deep storage. Additional holdings are stored at West Point, Denver, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Also officially, no gold has left Fort Knox in any significant documented capacity since 1974, aside from limited testing samples. Bessent has said he has no plans to travel to Kentucky himself, pointing instead to the Treasury's annual internal verifications and offering to arrange a visit for any senator who asks.

The U.S. shifted to a pure fiat currency system in the 1970s, ending the requirement to back paper money with gold or silver.

Iraqi Militia Vows To Disrupt Any Future Iraq-Syria Oil Pipeline: US 'Stealing Our Oil'

US and Iraqi officials are set to conclude a major energy deal as part of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s visit to Washington this week, according to Iraqi officials cited by AP Wednesday.

"An agreement is slated to be signed Friday between Iraq, US companies Chevron and TI Capital, and Qatar’s UCC for construction of an oil pipeline that will connect southern Iraq’s Basra to western Iraq’s Haditha," the officials said.

The pipeline is meant to extend from Haditha to Turkiye’s Ceyhan port and the port of Baniyas in Syria.

The details of the reported agreement were not discussed publicly during meetings between Zaidi and US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday. Neither the US president nor the Iraqi premier mentioned the deal. AP referred to it as a “significant energy deal.”

A senior Trump administration official said later on 14 July that Washington is “facilitating conversation” between Iraq and Syria regarding potential future energy projects.

Meanwhile, Iraqi pro-Iran resistance faction Al-Nujaba Movement warned against making deals with Washington in Iraq.

“[Trump] will not continue living under the illusion of stealing Iraq's oil and wealth, whether through direct theft or under the cover of suspicious investments. The Islamic resistance will continue confronting US forces and drive them from Iraq's land and skies,” the movement’s leader Akram al-Kaabi said in a statement on Wednesday.

The new Iraqi prime minister’s visit to Washington is expected to last until Saturday.

‘Oil for everyone or no one,’ Iran warns

Tehran says it has struck major US Navy facilities in Bahrain in response to recent American actions in the region

In a statement on Tuesday, the IRGC accused Washington of acting like “pirates” by restricting energy flows in the region and warned that other export routes serving the US and its allies could be blocked in response.

“Regional oil and gas exports are either for everyone or for no one,” the statement said.

The warning came as the IRGC claimed a new strike on US military infrastructure in Bahrain, which hosts the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet and serves as one of Washington’s main naval hubs in the Persian Gulf.

According to the IRGC, the fifth wave of Operation Nasr-2 targeted an NSA management center, a command-and-control center, large warehouses containing military parts and equipment, and fuel storage tanks belonging to the US Fifth Fleet.

The statement said the facilities had been “smashed and destroyed” in the early morning strike. The US military has not commented on the claim.

The latest warning follows Tehran’s decision to declare the Strait of Hormuz closed until the US ends its “illegal” military intervention in the region.

Washington has said its renewed strikes on Iran are aimed at protecting commercial shipping and freedom of navigation through the strait. US President Donald Trump has claimed that America is now “in control” of the waterway and will act as its “guardian.”

The US president has also threatened to escalate strikes against Iran, including attacks on power plants and bridges, unless Tehran returns to negotiations. In a Fox News interview on Tuesday, Trump refused to rule out a ground campaign, saying “other people” could carry it out, and again referred to Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export hub.

Kharg Island handles most of Iran’s crude exports and has been repeatedly cited by Trump as a possible target. Earlier this year, he said the US could seize the island “to take the oil.”

The interaction lasted almost ten minutes and ended with the deputy giving Read a ticket, the major said.

Under Israeli Pressure, Us Seizes Max Blumenthal’s Devices On Return From Tehran Reporting Trip

The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal was targeted by an Israeli doxxing outfit and Laura Loomer when he arrived in Iran to report on Khamenei’s funeral and the war. Upon his return, US agents seized his electronic devices and subjected him to interrogation. “Our reporting at The Grayzone has clearly become a problem for this criminal cartel,” he commented.

On July 10, 2026, American journalist Max Blumenthal was traveling back to the United States from Iran, which he had visited to report on the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the largest gathering in human history. While in Iran, Blumenthal interviewed members of Iran’s negotiation team, top political officials, academics and average citizens for a series of video and print reports for this news outlet, which he founded.

He also documented several US and Israeli war crimes from the ground, including the destruction of an entire neighborhood in Eastern Tehran which left at least 40 civilians dead.

Upon reentering the country at Dulles International Airport, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) interrogated Blumenthal about his trip, searched his belongings, and demanded that he provide access to his smart phones. When he refused to open his phones, CBP officers forced him to turn them over for detention. Other journalists and travelers have been threatened with the loss of their passports for a month for failing to hand over their devices.

Blumenthal entered Iran exactly as reporters working for establishment media outlets like CNN and NBC did – on a press visa granted by the Iranian Foreign Ministry. While in Tehran, he participated in official press events alongside those mainstream reporters, who were also in the country to cover the Ayatollah’s funeral. When journalists from CNN, NBC, and other American outlets returned to the US, however, they were not subjected to the same harassment Blumenthal experienced, nor were they required to give the US government their electronic devices.

Blumenthal is a widely recognized journalist in American independent media, with a record of reporting spanning 25 years. He is the author of four books, including a New York Times bestselling volume, and numerous widely viewed documentary films. Having reported from numerous countries and conflict zones around the world, he is the winner of several awards, including the Online Journalism Award and, most recently, the Pierre Sprey Award for Defense Reporting and Analysis.

These include Alan Jacoby, a MAGA activist who called her a “sexual predator psychopath” who “groped me in the parking lot, grabbing my crotch very aggressively and demanding I come back to her NYC hotel room to engage in some vile descriptive sexual activities.”

Milo Yianoppolous, Loomer’s former friend and communications director, has branded her a “rapist,” telling reporters he severed ties with her after she sexually harassed a young male campaign aide. MAGA’s Paid Influencer Scandal Exploding Into Full View

To the Israeli government, enlisting former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale to claw back support among young conservatives who increasingly hold negative or downright hostile views of the Jewish state and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu probably seemed like a brilliant idea. Parscale’s digital influence campaign would all be kept under wraps; none would be the wiser. MAGA social media stars would keep pumping out the posts, and Americans would, after all was said and done, have a rosier picture of Israel and Bibi. In other words, a psyop was needed to convince America that Israel was still an ally.

But boy, did it backfire.

Responsible Statecraft, a publication of the Quincy Institute, first broke the story about Parscale’s registration as a foreign agent of Israel and his pro-Israel psyop, all the way back in September 2025. Since then, more and more stories have been written about the burgeoning scandal, which also involves paid MAGA influencers, though it has not quite reached the levels of scrutiny it truly deserves. Both the Daily Caller and the Daily Caller News Foundation have covered it several times, as well as a Parscale firm’s operation to harvest data from unwitting World Cup fans. Tuesday marked yet another report, characterized by some as a “bombshell.”

Indeed, something feels different about the latest revelations. The scandal seems to be picking up much more steam than it has in previous news cycles. It might be because sleazier details are coming to light in TIME Magazine’s new exposé, published Tuesday.

What’s The Deal With Parscale?

Brad Parscale, a veteran of Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns, heads Clock Tower X, an enterprise responsible for building several websites designed to broadcast pro-Israel messaging. Under a lucrative multimillion-dollar contract with a state-guided Israeli PR firm, Havas Media Network, Clock Tower X directed $6 million to SparkFire Technologies. The company uses AI bots designed to “persuade people” and advocate for Israel via text messages, emails, and web chats.

Further details about Clock Tower’s agreement with Havas Media Network emerged in a May Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filing, which highlighted the development of blogs, social media initiatives, and websites.

According to the document, the initiative is designed to generate “content debunking misinformation about the state of Israel”. The same filing reveals that Havas Media Network paid $15 million to Clock Tower X, which subsequently spent approximately $13 million over six months to support the network’s objectives.

Parscale also holds the role of chief strategy officer for Salem Media Group, a conservative media enterprise that owns 117 radio stations across 38 markets, in addition to conservative news platforms Townhall, RedState, Hot Air, and PJ Media.

Who Are These Paid Influencers?

TIME’s story only featured one influencer by name: Eyal Yakoby, a University of Pennsylvania grad who has made a career as a pro-Israel influencer and now has over 300,000 followers on X. Yakoby has worked as a paid influencer for Influencable, a firm in which Parscale owns a minority stake.

TIME’s original version of the story was as follows:

Yakoby confirms he was paid by Influencable to fight antisemitism online. He says the firm never compensated him to promote views he did not already hold. “It’s not like an agency that represents you,” he says. “It’s more like a collaboration.”

However, after the story was published, Yakoby blasted the outlet on X and alleged that he never “confirmed” he was a paid influencer and that the quotes published in the story were inaccurate.

FBI’s ‘Operation Summer Heat 2.0’ Sees Hundreds of Arrests, Drugs Seized, 120 Children Located

FBI Director Kash Patel is pleased with Operation Summer Heat 2.0, and the FBI is revealing new overarching statistics showing the crackdown on crime has been massively effective.

“The historic Operation Summer Heat led by Dan Bongino paved the way for the most prolific run of crime reduction in American history, and this FBI is doubling down,” FBI Director Kash Patel told Breitbart News exclusively. “All 56 FBI field offices nationwide are fully engaged in Summer Heat 2.0 crushing violent crime networks across the country — and at the formal halfway mark, we’ve already arrested over 1,500 violent offenders, conducted 850 drug seizures, recovered 590 kilos of cocaine, and located more than 120 children. This is the life-saving, righteous mission this FBI and this administration are dedicated to — and the results speak for themselves.”

Last summer, the FBI led the offensive against crime — Operation Summer Heat — with then-Deputy Director Dan Bongino. While Bongino is now gone from the FBI, Patel — the director of the bureau — has doubled down and is significantly targeting criminal operations nationwide.

The FBI told Breitbart News there have been more than 1,500 violent offenders arrested nationwide this summer so far and more than 850 drug seizures conducted with more than 590 kilos of cocaine seized. What’s more, at least 120 children have been located.

This summer’s actions kicked off in Pittsburgh’s field office with Operation Turf War — the opening salvo of the FBI nationwide as part of Summer Heat 2.0 — netting 32 narcotics and weapons-related arrests in West Virginia and Maryland back in early June.

“Operation Turf War was this FBI answering the call of a community that needed it the most,” Patel said at the time of the effort. “This was a massively successful operation right in West Virginia with nearly three dozen individuals arrested using sophisticated techniques, confidential informants, and precise collaboration across the entire FBI enterprise with our partners. This is exactly what partnerships are supposed to look like.”

Since then, more efforts have been undertaken from coast to coast from places all over the country. Agents in the Phoenix, Arizona, field office for instance caught 23 violent criminals per local news reports and rescued three child victims there as well.

“In Arizona, the effort has resulted in 23 violent crime arrests and the identification and rescue of three child victims in its first 30 days,” 13 News in Arizona reported.

Agents in Indianapolis caught two different dangerous fugitives wanted on various violence and drug charges.

“The FBI Indianapolis Violent Crimes Task Force and law enforcement agencies arrested Antoine Crenshaw on June 17,” Fox 59/CBS 4 in Indianapolis reported. “He was wanted on various outstanding warrants in Tippecanoe, Benton, and Marion counties. A few days later, on June 23, FBI Indianapolis Violent Crimes Task Force, IMPD and U.S. Marshals located and arrested Kenneth Morris, wanted on felony warrants issued in Hendricks County.”

Peter Thiel and other tech billionaires are publicly shielding their children from the products that made them rich

As far back as 2010, Apple cofounder Steve Jobs told a New York Times reporter his kids had never used an iPad and that “we limit how much technology our kids use at home.”

Since then, the trend of Silicon Valley billionaires keeping their families away from technology has become even more pronounced, thanks in part to the rise of social media and short-form video.

Excessive device use among children has grown more common in recent years as busy parents turn to screens to find some peace. The trend has accelerated so much that some young children accustomed to extensive screen time have been dubbed “iPad kids.” On average, children in the U.S. ages 8 to 18 spend 7.5 hours per day watching or using screens, according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

YouTube cofounder Steve Chen said at a talk at the Stanford Graduate School of Business last year he wouldn’t want his kids consuming only short-form content, noting it might be better to limit kids to videos longer than 15 minutes.

“Shorter-form content equates to shorter attention spans,” he said.

At the 2024 Aspen Ideas Festival, early Facebook investor and billionaire Peter Thiel joined Chen among the ranks of tech leaders who are setting strict limits on screens. Thiel said he lets his two young children use screens for only an hour and a half per week, a revelation that prompted audible gasps from the audience.

Other tech CEOs, including Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Snap’s Evan Spiegel, and Tesla’s Elon Musk, have also spoken about limiting their children’s access to devices. Gates has said he did not give his children smartphones until age 14 and banned phones at the dinner table entirely. Snap CEO Spiegel, in 2018, said he limits his child to the same 1.5 hours per week of screen time as Thiel. And finally, Musk, who bought the social media company X, formerly Twitter, in 2022, said it “might’ve been a mistake” to not set any rules on social media for his children.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, who once said his own children were too young to use TikTok, clarified in 2023 that if his children lived in the U.S. and had access to the rigorous protections associated with the platform’s under-13 settings, he would let them use the app. He said even an 8-year-old could use the platform in the under-13 experience, which, among other protections, includes vetted content, no access to posting, and no advertisements.

Scientific research backs up their parenting instincts. A 2025 study of nearly 100,000 people found that short-form video use was consistently associated with poorer cognition and a decline in many aspects of mental health across both younger and older social media users.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to the United States on Saturday night, a senior Israeli official told The Times of Israel on Wednesday.

Netanyahu is expected to meet US President Donald Trump on Monday, the official added, but that is not yet finalized.

He will attend the Tuesday memorial service for US senator Lindsey Graham, an ardent Israel advocate who died unexpectedly over the weekend.

Netanyahu is eager to meet with Trump before Lebanese President Joseph Aoun does so, according to the Walla news site.

Aoun will be at the White House on Tuesday.

Aoun has refused to engage with Netanyahu as long as Israeli troops are still in Lebanon.

US-brokered talks between Israel and Lebanon wrapped up on Wednesday in Rome, with a State Department spokesperson calling this round’s two days of discussions “productive and positive.”

However, an exact timeline for when Israel will fulfill its pledges to withdraw from two small pilot zones in south Lebanon has still not been offered.

Open Borders Are A Death Sentence To Western Nations

As simmering conflicts between Western citizens and Western governments boil over the next few years, we must never forget how we got to this point: Elected officials and irremovable bureaucrats occupying permanent administrative roles have refused to respect the wishes of the citizens whom they ostensibly represent and serve.

From the United States to the United Kingdom, citizens have demanded that their governments secure national borders and end the steady flow of illegal aliens into their communities. From France, the Netherlands, and Germany to Australia and New Zealand, citizens have demanded that their governments arrest and remove Islamic immigrants who are guilty of rape, murder, or other violent crimes. With the exception of President Trump’s efforts to enforce immigration law and deport illegal alien criminals (despite formidable resistance from the courts, leftist NGOs, and Establishment politicians from both the Democrat and Republican Parties) in the United States, no Western official has done anything to remedy the scourge of unlawful mass invasion in a deliberate, meaningful, and effective way. Instead, Western governments hide from their citizens the true number of illegal immigrants living among them. Western governments hide from their citizens a full accounting of the crimes committed by foreign nationals who should never have been permitted entry in the first place.

Mass illegal immigration is not a new problem. In the United States, President Ronald Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act into law in 1986. Defended by both political parties as a way of combating illegal immigration while providing long-term lawbreakers legal status, it effectively awarded millions of foreign nationals amnesty. Politicians convinced the American people to support this trade-off: In return for citizens’ reluctantly permitting the government to reward the unlawful behavior of foreign immigrants who had no right to reside in the United States, the government would protect citizens by cracking down on future illegal immigration and punishing businesses that hired illegal immigrant workers. The U.S. government never lived up to its side of the bargain.

Instead, U.S. officials have lied to their citizens for forty additional years. Until President Trump entered office, U.S. borders were not secured. Businesses were rarely punished for hiring illegal aliens. Unbeknownst to most American citizens, State and federal welfare programs continued to add illegal aliens to their taxpayer-funded dole rolls. School districts in both cities and small towns continued to enroll illegal alien children. Hospital emergency rooms continued to overflow with illegal alien patients seeking “free” medical care. American jobs — especially blue-collar jobs — continued to go to illegal aliens because employers could pay foreigners less, avoid state and federal taxes, and use the threat of deportation as exploitative leverage over their workforces. Illegal alien workers continued to place downward pressure on hourly wages. Illegal aliens continued to place upward pressure on the costs of housing, energy, and household necessities.

Sometime in the ‘90s, American politicians and government bureaucrats began admitting to Americans that there were roughly eleven million illegal aliens inside the United States. For the next thirty years, politicians and bureaucrats repeated the same “eleven million” figure as if no net-increase in immigration had occurred. Anybody living in small-town America knew this to be a demonstrable lie. In the nineties, local school classrooms were made up almost entirely of American kids who grew up speaking English in households whose families had been living in the United States for generations. As each year passed, those same classrooms were increasingly filled with kids whose parents had come from all over the world, and even small school districts were forced to hire staff who could attend to the needs of an increasingly foreign student body unfamiliar with basic English.

Indictments Unsealed Charging Five Individuals with Sexual Exploitation of Children

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A federal grand jury has indicted five individuals on child-exploitation charges, announced U.S. Attorney Phillip W. Williams Jr.

The following defendants were indicted:

A four-count indictment charges Gregory Alan Lee, 49, of Irondale, Alabama, with coercion and enticement of a minor, possession of child pornography, and solicitation of child pornography. The incidents occurred between September 2024, and November 2025, in Jefferson County, Alabama.

A two-count indictment charges John Spencer Murphy, 65, of Huntsville, Alabama, with transportation and possession of child pornography. The incidents occurred in July 2025, and August 2025, in Madison County, Alabama.

A five-count indictment charges Abigail Marie Roberts, 22, and Michael Clinton Chambers, 26, of Carrollton, Georgia, with conspiracy to engage in the sexual exploitation of children, conspiracy to receive and distribute child pornography, sexual exploitation of children, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography. The incidents occurred in April 2026, in Franklin County, Alabama.

A 13-count indictment charges Landon Chace Williams, 20, of Cherokee, Alabama with sexual exploitation of children, coercion and enticement of a minor, and possession of child pornography. The incidents occurred between June 2024 and February 2026 in Colbert County, Alabama.

Federal Agent Sentenced to 84 Months’ Imprisonment for Role in the Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material

MINNEAPOLIS – United States Attorney Daniel N. Rosen announced today that Timothy Ryan Gregg, 53, of Eagan, Minnesota, has been sentenced to 84 months’ imprisonment for his role in transporting and producing visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

According to court documents, Gregg admitted to knowingly producing child pornography that depicted Gregg engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a minor. At the time of his conduct, Gregg was a Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations based in Minnesota and served as a Task Force Officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
