For the end times beast system one world govt they will have control (at some point in the future). We just don't know when. Until then, we fight. It almost happened (they had all the mechanisms in place) but the Lord didn't allow it. Which is humbling and "should" cause humanity to turn back to Him.
The wicked ones and their minions will just go underground like they have in the past and since we are dealing with deceiving eternal entities, they can come in and deceive future generations as they have in the previously.
We are a primary example with first hand experience.
We as simple humans tend to focus on the here and now and immediate history.
Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it, etc.
The human element can be dismantled and disrupted to a point but since this is the Prince of the Power of the Air's dominion until his time comes, the world network he has built will take a miracle and concerted effort on humanity's part.
The patriots are only in control so much as the Lord allows. If He has seen enough evil and we don't turn back to Him in true repentance, this whole thing could be a wash, operating on our own strength.
Since the plan is the ONLY game in town that is working toward righteousness even though we are flawed humans, those with the gift to see know it is the noble fight to join.
