Well, there's a lot of moving parts in those.
Lots of tiny, delicate parts in mechanical clocks. Any shaking and those parts can go out of place and throw the whole mechanism out of alignment and it'll stop working nothing secret about that. Same principle for the bigger mechanical clocks in public.

I haven't had a cellphone attached to the cell network since like 2008 or 2009, can't remember exactly the last cell phone I had. Wasn't a smartphone either, just a standard fliptop phone.

It's just strange to me now, an imbecilic oddity, like just watching a bunch of jealous losers pretend to be someone else in front of the person they're pretending to be.
