Hilton says a whistleblower from the Pomona Fairplex facility described pressure to speed up the release of children while safeguards meant to vet sponsors were weakened. He and Lara discuss allegations that employees who raised concerns about trafficking, gangs and child labor were ignored or terminated.
Of the 479,000 unaccompanied children Hilton says entered the system, he says roughly 140,000 may still be unaccounted for today.
