Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and five other Republican secretaries of state have signed onto an emergency Supreme Court brief asking the justices to make sure a new U.S. Postal Service mail-ballot rule does not govern the November 3, 2026 election.
The filing is styled as a brief of amici curiae “in support of neither party.” The bottom line is not neither-party at all. The signers want the November midterms run under the same mail-ballot system that was in place before President Trump’s election-integrity order and the Postal Service’s final rule.
The six current Secretaries of State listed in the filing are:
Brad Raffensperger, Secretary of State of Georgia
Michael Adams, Secretary of State of Kentucky
Michael Howe, Secretary of State of North Dakota
Monae Johnson, Secretary of State of South Dakota
David Scanlan, Secretary of State of New Hampshire
Scott Schwab, Secretary of State of Kansas
Utah Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson, who serves as the state’s chief election official, also joined the brief.
