The United States plans to open two new military bases in Greenland, an expansion made possible by a new security agreement between the US, Denmark, and the semi-autonomous Danish territory of Greenland.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen signed the new security agreement during a trilateral ceremony at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The "agreement," which amends a 1951 defense treaty, allows the US "to establish an additional Defense Area at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig in accordance with modalities and technical details to be mutually agreed by the Parties," which is where the two new military bases will be created.

Narsarsuaq hosted the US Bluie West One military base in the 1940s and 1950s. Mestersvig is a current military outpost used by the Danish special forces unit called Sirius Dog Sled Patrol.

The agreement also allows the US to "modernize and expand its activities" at its existing Pituffik Space Base in northwestern Greenland, create additional military facilities on the island, and enjoy greater military access by land, air, and sea.

It also bans non-NATO nations from establishing a military presence on Greenland and provides the U.S. with economic privileges (such as “minerals cooperation”) in the resource-rich island.

During a speech to assembled world leaders at the UN before the trilateral ceremony, Trump spoke of the "unprecedented agreement regarding the northern frontier of North America, the large and strategically vital piece of land known as Greenland."

This rhetoric tracked with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s vow in March to establish a "Greater North America." However, the agreement does not have the US take over Greenland, as leaders on the island, in Denmark, and throughout Europe had feared earlier this year.

Such fears were well placed, considering that the US conquered Venezuela in January, has been working toward regime change in Cuba, and is currently at war with Iran.

On Hormuz and the question of negotiations, he said that the strait cannot be used for passage of weapons that will be used against Iran. While Iran is ready for diplomacy it strands ready to keep using its military power, the Iranian leader said. Overall, the speech did not focus very heavily at all on the prospect of new talks with Washington - something perhaps intentionally left out to appease domestic hardliners in the Islamic Republic.

Is Israel committing genocide in Lebanon?

More than 4,300 people have been killed in just over six months, including over 250 children and 130 medics, official figures show

Israel is facing accusations of genocide over its military campaign in Lebanon, where thousands have been killed and large areas devastated. RT correspondent Steve Sweeney reports from Nabatieh, a city in the south of the country that has been repeatedly hit by Israeli strikes.

More than 4,300 people, including over 250 children and 130 medical professionals, have been killed since the latest escalation began in March, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Doctors Against Genocide have accused Israel of pursuing what they called a “genocidal policy of absolute destruction,” targeting the foundations of life of Lebanon’s Shia communities. The groups said attacks on medical personnel were part of a sustained pattern affecting “the very systems necessary for civilian survival.”

Around 56,000 hectares of agricultural land have been affected, with losses to the sector estimated at more than $1 billion, according to Lebanon’s Agriculture Ministry.

Israel denies that its campaign targets Lebanon’s Shia population, saying its operations are directed against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese armed group. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has warned, however, that Beirut’s predominantly Shia Dahiya district would “look like Khan Yunis,” referring to a war-devastated city in Gaza.

The latest Israeli campaign in Lebanon began in early March, after Hezbollah attacked Israel following the start of US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Israel responded with airstrikes and later expanded its military operations in Lebanon.

Israeli attacks have continued despite a US-brokered framework agreed upon in June aimed at ending the fighting. The deal calls for a progressive Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon alongside Lebanese Army deployments and the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah, but implementation has stalled.

Under the 1948 Genocide Convention, genocide requires intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group. RT looks at whether the destruction and statements accompanying Israel’s campaign could meet that definition.

Federal statute required a written informed-consent waiver requested by the Secretary of Defense and signed by the President. That paper was never signed. The troops still took the order — or lost the uniform.

Dr. Terry Adirim’s Sept. 14, 2021 memorandum ordered DoD providers to use EUA-labeled Pfizer-BioNTech and FDA-licensed Comirnaty doses “interchangeably” to vaccinate service members.

10 U.S.C. § 1107a says troops receiving an emergency-use product retain the option to refuse absent a written presidential national-security waiver. The Pentagon’s DoD Instruction 6200.02 says only the Secretary of Defense may ask for one.

Ivan Raiklin says that request never went up and no signed waiver came back. Adirim’s two-page memo told the force to treat EUA doses as licensed doses.

A federal claims court later rejected the argument that medical interchangeability erased the legal difference. It ruled that the Coast Guard, after offering only EUA vials, had to honor the right to refuse or seek the President’s waiver. It did neither.

The Pentagon’s May 2025 remedies guidance called the mandate “unlawful as implemented,” ordered record corrections, and opened a path to reinstatement and back pay. The troops paid first. Congress needs Adirim under oath.

GOP Senator Calls On Senate Judiciary Committee To Investigate Don Jr., Hunter Biden. Most Members Haven’t Even Opened The Letter

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee split along party lines on whether to support Republican Utah Sen. John Curtis’ calls to investigate and subpoena Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden despite not having read his letter.

Curtis urged the committee in a letter to investigate the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit, citing Donald Trump Jr.’s and Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. Some members of the committee appeared interested in supporting Curtis’ requests, though most of them have yet to read the letter.

“I therefore respectfully request that the Senate Judiciary Committee launch an investigation into the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit, preferential treatment, or access by domestic and foreign interests,” Curtis wrote. “As part of that investigation, I urge the Committee to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden to testify regarding their past business dealings, relationships with foreign individuals and entities, gifts, or other benefits they have received, and any instances in which their relationship to the President was invoked or understood to private value.”

Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley told the Daily Caller News Foundation and other reporters that he had not read the letter hours after its release.

“I can’t answer that question for you, or him, or anybody else because I just told a journalist downstairs I wasn’t going to answer the question until I read the letter,” said Grassley, an Iowa Republican.

When asked why he hadn’t read the letter,” Grassley said, “I just got to town.”

Retiring Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis said he would not oppose an investigation.

“I haven’t [seen the letter]. I hear it’s about an investigation. It’s up to the chair, I would oppose it,” Tillis told the DCNF when asked if he would support an investigation.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said he did not know enough about the allegations against Don Jr. and Hunter Biden and said he would defer to Grassley.

Democratic ranking member Dick Durbin said he supported Curtis’ request to open an investigation.

“It was a great letter, I support it,” Durbin told the DCNF. “I think we ought to have an investigation into Donald Trump Jr.”

Durbin said Hunter Biden already agreed to cooperate with any investigation into his business dealings.

Democratic Delaware Sen. Chris Coons praised Curtis for wanting an investigations opened into possible corruption by Donald Trump Jr. He did not mention any possible corruption or wrongdoing committed by Hunter Biden.

“No one is above the law,” Coons said. “I’m glad to see Republican colleagues like John increasingly refusing to turn a blind eye to corruption from this administration and the Trump family. The American people want an equal standard.”

BOEBERT: Drones Are Bringing The Surveillance State To Your Front Door

At the moment, the United States government has no official public count of how many drones law enforcement agencies own and fly in the U.S. There is no list from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Justice (DOJ), or any state agency accessible to the public. Various industry estimates put police drone programs in the thousands — one recently cited as high as about 6,000. Congress should not have to take its numbers from corporate executives on quarterly earnings calls about how many drones are already circling overhead and surveilling the American people. The Department of Transportation, FAA, DOJ, and the Office of Justice Programs should put the fleets on the books and brief the House and Senate.

Until recently, most drones sold to police departments were made in China, raising significant concerns about Chinese government access and influence — either directly from China or through American companies that marked them up and profited. Congress has spent years trying to stop the Chinese drone invasion of our police departments. Those efforts were necessary. They are not finished. Even if new sales slow, fleets of Chinese drones remain deployed across the nation. And there are still continued efforts to keep Chinese components, software, and supply chains in the fleet.

Not one piece of hardware or software from the People’s Republic of China belongs on a police or federal drone in the United States, or in any piece of related equipment for that matter.

Not the chip, camera, battery, flight controller, app, firmware, or cloud login.

Grant funding, FAA registration, and operational approval should not be granted to aircraft or ground systems that contain Chinese hardware or software. American first responders deserve American supply chains.

That is already the direction of federal law, and it ought to be enforced without loopholes. Section 848 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 barred the Department of Defense from operating or contracting for covered foreign unmanned aircraft systems and critical components. The American Security Drone Act of 2023 was enacted as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024. The order on funding Unmanned Aircraft Systems says no Office of Justice Programs funds may go to unmanned aircraft systems manufactured or assembled by a covered foreign entity, with only limited exceptions.

Members of Congress should not have to guess how many drones are flying overhead. Congress must investigate and coordinate with executive agencies to determine the facts: how many unmanned aircraft federal agencies and state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies already fly; fleet size by agency; their missions and payloads; and under what rules, if any, they operate. That is the level of transparency we need for government-used drones. Existing fleets should be registered within 30 days of operational deployment so we can put the brakes on unfettered overhead surveillance.

Federal tax dollars should go to real emergencies — search and rescue, wrecks, officer safety, and a barricaded suspect — not ever-present aerial patrol above American homes.

Those dollars already flow through the Office of Justice Programs, the Community Oriented Policing Services Office, Byrne Justice Assistance Grants, among others. Unmanned aerial systems are an explicit priority for Fiscal Year 2026 Community Oriented Policing Services Community Policing Development. “Drone as first responder” is not a substitute for a warrant. Persistent neighborhood surveillance is a general warrant from the sky, and a microphone on a drone is an intercept. Listening should require the same legal process as a Title III wiretap under 18 U.S.C. §§ 2510–2523, or the state equivalent — no fishing expeditions, audit logs, and short retention.

Weaponized drones bought with Department of Justice grant money are already banned. That ban should apply to all related funding streams unless Congress authorizes otherwise.

No guns. No launchers. No explosives.

An officer with a badge and a lawful use-of-force policy is accountable. Flying weapons over Main Street is not how we support first responders.

Burnham Announces ‘Ministry of Truth’ to ‘Defend Democracy’ From ‘Russia-Amplified Far-Right Narratives’

The belief that the United Kingdom is experiencing decline, the view that there are negative elements to modern life, and the feeling of unrest after terror attacks are among “far-right narratives” pushed by Russian intelligence that bear “no resemblance to reality,” Prime Minister Andy Burnham declared as he announced plans for a new National Centre for Information Defence.

The UK has more experience than most Western countries in being attacked with information warfare and will establish a new government body to disrupt “hostile state information attacks”, Andy Burnham said during his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, while tipping that this model could be exported to other countries to protect them from unwelcome information as well.

Though the wide-ranging speech touched on a series of issues, the lion’s share of the new British Prime Minister’s speaking time was spent explaining how narratives contrary to his view of modern Britain not only bear “no resemblance to reality”, but are engineered by foreign powers to undermine national security.

The country’s deeper experience in this sort of warfare goes back ten years, Burnham said — not naming the defeat of progressive sentiment in the Brexit referendum ten years ago in 2016, but tacitly implying this was the first battle in this shadow war against information — stating British elections had also been targeted by Russia.

Because there is “no national security” without a cohesive society to build it on, Burnham said the level of threat he intended to fight justified extraordinary reach for this new information control body, stating:

The Kremlin spends about £1.3 billion each year on manipulating information. We’re talking about an insidious campaign that reaches into people’s homes and twists what they feel about their own country and community, creating a narrative of decline, stoking division, and sowing despair… we are going to help our people to strengthen their resilience, because faced with their information warfare, security starts in every home.

The variety of opinions being forced on unsuspecting Britons by Russia was, the Prime Minister said, considerable, and conveniently aligns reasonably neatly with practically everything his Labour Party stands against.

This “industrial-scale assault by hostile actors on the information environment in the UK” by “Russian agencies” includes spreading disinformation to prey on ordinary people’s fears, he said, and amplifying “far-right narratives” by stoking “tensions and unrest in the wake of horrific events”, terror attacks.

Pfizer paid $500,000 to two nonprofits that later signed a letter urging Massachusetts lawmakers to eliminate the state’s religious exemption from mandatory childhood school vaccinations, according to the company’s own public grant disclosures and a legislative letter reviewed by The Defender.

The drugmaker’s “US Medical, Scientific, Patient and Civic Organization Funding Report” for fiscal year 2024, posted on Pfizer’s transparency website, lists a $400,000 payment to the American Society for Meningitis Prevention (ASMP) for “Policy Efforts for comprehensive Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccination.”

The same report lists a $100,000 payment to the March of Dimes Foundation in 2024, categorized as a “Vaccine Policy Campaign Maternal Immunization.”

More than a year later, both organizations’ names appear among roughly two dozen signatories on a June 1 letter to the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means urging lawmakers to advance House Bill 2554 (H.2554).

The bill would “remove the non-medical exemption from required school vaccines and enhance data collection and sharing to better track immunization rates,” according to the letter.

Patti Wukovits and Alicia Stillman, ASMP’s co-executive directors, and Chloe Schwartz, March of Dimes’ director of its maternal and infant health initiative, signed on behalf of their organizations.

Massachusetts currently allows parents to opt their children out of school vaccination requirements on religious grounds. The bill would eliminate that option, leaving only medical exemptions.

ASMP separately describes itself as focused on educating young people and parents about meningococcal meningitis. The March of Dimes has publicly credited Pfizer as an “inaugural supporter” of its vaccine-education campaign, describing a partnership that supports work encouraging adherence to the vaccine schedule recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Neither organization has publicly addressed the timing of the donations relative to their support for H.2554.

Pfizer’s disclosure does not indicate the money was earmarked specifically for opposing Massachusetts’ religious exemption. The stated purposes are broader vaccine-policy campaigns tied to meningococcal disease and maternal immunization.

The ASMP and the March of Dimes did not respond to requests for comment from The Defender.

Iran Reaffirms Control Over Hormuz With Deadly Attack (Video, Photos)

A cargo ship caught fire after being struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on September 23, with two casualties reported and the crew evacuated, in the latest attack underscoring Iran’s tight grip on the strategic waterway.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) center, which monitors maritime security in the Middle East, said it received a report at about from the vessel’s company security officer.

“The Company Security Officer of a cargo vessel reports being struck by an unknown projectile,” UKMTO said. “The vessel is on fire and adrift.”

“All crew have been evacuated with 2 casualties reported,” the agency added, advising ships operating in the area to exercise caution and report suspicious activity.

The vessel was later identified by maritime security sources as the Antigua and Barbuda-flagged bulk carrier Cape Dao. The Indian Embassy in Oman said one Indian national was killed in the attack and that it was coordinating with Omani authorities over the safety of the remaining crew, including 19 Indian nationals aboard the ship.

The attack also highlights the gap between Washington’s claims about freedom of navigation through the strait and conditions facing commercial vessels. President Donald Trump said at the United Nations a day earlier that the U.S. military had recently escorted more than 1 billion barrels of oil out of the Gulf.

“We recently announced we have escorted more than one billion barrels of oil out of the Gulf,” Trump said.

Trump has portrayed the U.S. military presence as restoring oil flows through the strategic waterway. U.S. Central Command has also affirmed that more than 1 billion barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz over a recent two-month period with U.S. assistance, alongside more than 2,000 vessel transits.

But the latest attack illustrates that Iran continues to exercise substantial control over the practical use of the strait despite those U.S. claims. Shipping through the waterway remains far below prewar levels, with Reuters reporting that only 17 commodity vessels crossed during one recent weekend, compared with an average of about 125 vessels a day before the conflict.

Iran has also continued to impose conditions on shipping through the waterway. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said this week that Tehran’s conditions for easing maritime restrictions included an end to the U.S. naval blockade, the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to the wider war.

The latest strike therefore comes despite Washington’s assertion that it has reopened and secured the Strait of Hormuz. With merchant ships still being attacked and traffic remaining heavily restricted, the waterway remains under tight Iranian control.

Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Production of Child Pornography

Tallahassee, Florida – Keagan Garrett Bohlinger, 26, of Monticello, Florida, pleaded guilty in federal court to 11 counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography from the internet. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

U.S. Attorney Heekin said: “It is one of my office’s top priorities to target and aggressively prosecute anyone who sexually exploits and victimizes a child. The fact that this defendant served as a public safety officer makes the commission of his heinous crimes even more egregious, and my office will pursue maximum punishment to achieve justice for the minor victim.”

Court documents reflect that the defendant was a Monticello Police Department Officer who sexually abused a young child and produced multiple videos and images of the sexual abuse on three occasions in January 2026. He also possessed videos and images of child pornography downloaded from the internet.

The defendant faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 350 years, which includes up to 30 years per production count, and 20 years for possession, all potentially running consecutively. After his release from prison, the defendant will be a registered sex offender and will be sentenced to supervised release for at least 5 years and up to life.

The case involved an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James A. McCain.
