A New Lunar Crater: McGetchin

 

A once-in-a-lifetime crater has appeared on the Moon! A comet or asteroid roughly the size of a humpback whale (approximately 10-20 meters, 30-60 feet) crashed into the Moon sometime between April and May of 2024. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), with its monthly monitoring of the Moon, captured today’s images of the lunar surface before and after the event. The resulting crater, named after Apollo-era lunar scientist McGetchin, is two soccer fields across. Craters of this size are only expected once every 132 years! Follow up thermal imaging revealed a large cold spot that surrounds the warm crater. Surface impacts will puff up the loose lunar sediment, or regolith, making it less dense and harder to retain heat. This event affected an area much larger than the visible crater, which will inform humanity’s understanding of surface impacts and the evolution of the Moon’s surface. It also reminds us all to be thankful for Earth's atmosphere.

Ace got to go home Sunday. One leg less, but undeterred from his K9 duty (which is retirement now).

 

Our K9 hero Ace was shot & critically injured protecting deputies and our community on Thursday night……it’s Sunday now, and he’s coming home.

 

The bad guy who shot Ace was eliminated by his handler and two other deputies at the scene.

 

Ace’s life was saved through the incredible work of a whole lot of people: his loyal partner, Deputy Natalie Oestreich, who quickly attended to his wounds & carried him to safety; the amazing staff and Dr. Aguayo at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Lakeland who stopped his bleeding & stabilized him; the outstanding @TGHCares @Aeromed crew who got him quickly & safely to the amazing Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch, where Dr. Diaz performed the several-hour-long surgery to amputate Ace’s left front leg.

 

Upon waking from the anesthesia, Ace attempted to walk out of there. He has not been deterred since. In fact he outran the camera attempting to film his release this afternoon!

 

We would like to thank the following agencies for accompanying us to pick up Ace today and give him a big “welcome home!” @hainescity PD @LakelandPD Winter Haven PD, @HCSOSheriff @ManateeSheriff

The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land according to the Supreme Clause. First Amendment protects Freedom of Religion. The Supreme Clause states that any law or court order that violates the US Constitution is automatically null and void. If they try to arrest anyone for praying outside an abortion clinic, they will violate their 4th Amendment right to be safe and secure in their persons and affects, and will also violate EO 241. If a cop tries to enforce that illegal order and is armed, they can be charged with kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon, and deadly force can be used against such threats. All these violations can go as high as 25 years to life in prison. Know your rights or lose them.

President Donald Trump allegedly scoffed at fire and safety code issues in the early stages of the White House ballroom project.

 

Sources told The Washington Post the first architect to tackle the job, James McCrery II, stepped down in October after repeatedly pointing out that Trump’s early designs for the project were problematic.

 

Trump, who would regularly mark up images and plans for the controversial space with a black Sharpie, wanted designs that skimped on required emergency exits and didn’t have proper fire safety measures, according to the report.

 

When the fire and safety code issues were pointed out, the president allegedly had only one thing to say.

 

“I am the code,” Trump said, according to the report.

 

The $400 million ballroom project has sparked controversy and legal back-and-forth for months, with Trump repeatedly declaring the space is needed for security reasons.

 

The president demolished the historic East Wing and began work on the ballroom without required approvals from Congress.

 

Overseeing the project is the little-known Executive Residence, an office that’s not required to follow federal rules, according to the report.

 

The question of fire and safety codes lingered for months, The Post reported:

 

Discussions about the life-safety deficiencies in the ballroom’s design continued for months after McCrery resigned, according to White House records. It is not clear from the records reviewed by The Post whether the safety issues he identified have been resolved in more recent designs by Shalom Baranes Associates, the architecture firm that replaced McCrery’s firm late last year.

 

Shalom Baranes Associates declined to comment.

The White House said in a statement that McCrery’s exit from the project had nothing to do with the fire and safety code issue and insisted all such questions “have been addressed and resolved continuously as the design has evolved.”

 

“McCrery was a valued member of the initial design team of the East Wing Modernization Project,” according to the statement.

 

“The decision was made to move in another direction for the second phase of the project and we continue to make tremendous strides in realizing the goal of providing a world class military and functional facility for future Presidents to utilize.”

 

McCrery initially declined to comment but later provided The Post with a statement.

 

“President Trump entrusted me with the earliest stages of the new ballroom design,” the statement said. “I am truly grateful for that honor and for the rich experience of working for him alongside all the highly talented and committed patriots at the Executive Mansion. Having completed the earliest designs, I stepped aside and a new firm was engaged.”

Astronomers just named an asteroid after 'Weird Al' Yankovic

Asteroid Alyankovic was discovered in 1981 and resides in the main belt of asteroids found between Mars and Jupiter.

It may not be a slime creature from outer space, but you can finally find "Weird Al" Yankovic's name flying beyond our planet.

 

The American musician and comedian's name was recently approved for an asteroid, or space rock, that zooms around our solar system about once every four years.

The asteroid is formally known as (14331) Alyankovic, or 1981 EC26. 1981 refers to the year of the asteroid's discovery, and Yankovic's name for it was approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the official body that arbitrates the monikers of things in the universe.

 

Planetary scientist Allison McGraw, an alumna of the University of Arizona who is now with the Lunar and Planetary Science Institute, backed the nomination with several other planetary science researchers, according to the Tucson Star.

On Sunday (Sept. 20), McGraw presented Yankovic backstage with a plaque commemorating the naming of the asteroid, ahead of Yankovic's performance at the Tucson Arena.

 

"I've been working on not being starstruck, the same way I am every time I meet astronauts," McGraw said in the Tucson Star's report, ahead of the meeting. "I'm gonna do my best not to be starstruck, or I guess 'rock struck', but I have the feeling that he's going to be really cool."

Alyankovic (the asteroid) was discovered in 1981 and resides in the main belt of asteroids found between Mars and Jupiter. It is visible from Earth, but only in a good telescope as its absolute magnitude is 16; for comparison, the faintest stars visible to the naked eye are roughly magnitude 5 or 6, under dark-sky conditions.

 

Alyankovic joins several other musical-themed celebrity monikers on asteroids, such as 17059 Elvis, 17473 Freddiemercury, 249516 Aretha (after Aretha Franklin), 10731 Dollyparton, and all members of the Beatles (both individually, and as a group for 8749 Beatles.)

Meanwhile, Al Yankovic (the singer) has been belting out funny space-related tunes for decades, including the rap-like "Sir Isaac Newton vs. Bill Nye", an Obi-Wan Kenobi-centered retelling of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace called "The Saga Begins," and the self-explanatory and classic "Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet Near Mars."

 

While living persons can have their names attached to asteroids and other "small bodies" like comets, the process can take years, and any name must meet a multi-page set of requirements as well as the muster of the IAU's working group that names small bodies.

"Names have traditionally been assigned to many small bodies and have drawn from mythological characters, planetary scientists, astronomers, and accomplished scientists, engineers, and technicians in other fields.

People who have made contributions to the arts, sports, medicine, and other aspects of society are also recognized. Discoverers have also used names of personal significance to them," the IAU states.

The EU has failed to provide sufficient evidence to keep a former Russian official on its sanctions blacklist, the bloc’s General Court ruled on Wednesday. The decision came a day after the EU removed two Russian businessmen from the list as part of a deal to extend restrictions on thousands of others.

 

The court annulled the September 2024 and September 2025 extensions of sanctions against former Russian Senator Oleg Tkach, who represented Kaliningrad Region in the Federation Council from 2004 to 2022. He was also involved in publishing, founding and chairing Olma Media Group.

 

The EU first sanctioned Tkach in March 2022 over his vote to ratify treaties with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, which later became part of Russia following referendums rejected by Ukraine and most Western countries. The case centered on whether the EU Council had grounds to keep extending the restrictions after Tkach left office.

 

According to Wednesday’s ruling, the Council failed to demonstrate that Tkach retained close ties to Russian authorities. The court also found that his failure to publicly oppose Russia’s military operation in Ukraine did not, by itself, constitute continued support for the authorities.

 

Brussels had also cited Tkach’s publishing background, including his links to Olma Media Group and textbook publisher Prosveshcheniye. However, the court found the evidence insufficient to establish his current role or influence at the companies.

 

The ruling does not affect the EU’s most recent sanctions extension from March 2026, which Tkach is challenging separately. He argues that condemnation based on his former Senate position is outdated and that the Council’s evidence is unreliable and lacks a “sound factual basis.”He has also argued that the measures are disproportionate.

 

A day before Wednesday’s ruling, the EU agreed to remove Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from its sanctions list. Both had previously mounted legal challenges related to EU restrictions, while Fridman has also filed a multibillion-dollar arbitration claim against Luxembourg.

 

Their removal came as part of a compromise to renew sanctions against around 3,000 other individuals and entities for three years, until September 2029, replacing the bloc’s usual six-month renewal cycle.

Disgraced Mogul Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison in NYC Court

The long NYC effort to get Weinstein to pay for his alleged crimes comes to an end.

The convoluted legal drama involving the NYC trials of Harvey Weinstein has finally ended as he is sentenced to 15 years in prison after 2 retrials that ended in hung juries.

Quick explanation: the disgraced Hollywood mogul was convicted in California in 2022 for three sex crimes, committed in 2013, against an unidentified Italian model and actress: forcible rape, Forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration by a foreign object.

For the crimes in this California trial, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison, a conviction that he is serving now, although he is to be resentenced in the future.

But in New York, things have been even more complex.

His original 2020 NYC conviction was overturned by New York’s highest court in 2024 due to improper admission of testimony from uncharged accusers.

So, Weinstein had a 2025 retrial, in which prosecutors charged him with crimes against three women: the 2025 jury convicted him of one criminal sexual act count (involving Mimi Haley), acquitted him on another (involving Kaja Sokola), but was deadlocked on the Jessica Mann rape charge — leading to a mistrial.

Weinstein had a second retrial on the Jessica Mann charge in 2026, and a mistriProsecutors declined to try him again, in part because Jessica Mann refused to testify for a third time and face a grueling cross-examination.

So, now, all that’s left if for the decaying mogul to be sentenced for his conviction for a criminal sexual act count involving Mimi Haley from the 2025 retrial.al was declared again.

“Decrepit Harvey Weinstein will finally learn his fate in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday — as the disgraced Hollywood mogul faces up to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a former TV production worker. While the trials and retrials have been going on, Weinstein has been incarcerated at Rikers Island, battling health concerns while serving his conviction and awaiting his LA resentence.

The Baltic states have secretly asked the European Commission for hundreds of millions of euros to boost their defense against drones, citing an alleged Russian threat, the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti has reported.

 

Moscow has repeatedly rejected claims that it has aggressive designs against Europe, saying that they are only made by Western politicians to scare the population at home and justify growing military spending. It maintains that a conflict is only possible if NATO members attack Russia.

 

Iltalehti said on Tuesday, citing foreign policy and security sources, that the defense ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania had sent a letter to EU chief Ursula von der Leyen the previous day, asking Brussels to urgently provide them with €500 million (around $570 million). There has been no public announcement about the request being made, it added.

 

The minister claimed that the funds are needed due to the possibility of Russia trying to test NATO’s resolve by carrying out drone strikes against the bloc’s eastern flank, the report read.

 

Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius expect a positive response from von der Leyen in a matter of weeks, with the money arriving by the end of the year, according to the sources.

 

Last week, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Russia could fire drones or missiles into NATO countries backing Ukraine in “the next few months.” Despite Tusk providing no proof to his claim, French President Emmanuel Macron described it as “sound and well-documented.”

 

On Tuesday, Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius told the BBC that his country feels “constantly threatened” by Russia because of drones entering its airspace.

 

Since spring, there have been a number of incidents of Ukrainian UAVs crossing into Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia or crashing in their territory as Kiev has intensified its long-range attacks on energy infrastructure in Leningrad Region in northwestern Russia.

 

The Baltic states claimed that the incursions happened because of the UAVs being diverted off course by Russian electronic warfare equipment. Moscow has warned Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius that it could act in accordance with its right to self-defense if it turns out that the three countries are knowingly providing their airspace to the Ukrainian military.

 

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics claimed in an interview with the Kiev Independent the same day that his country is facing an “alarming” period due to possible Russian interference in the wake of an election on October 3.

 

On Wednesday, high-ranking Estonian Foreign Ministry official Jonatan Vseviov said that warnings of an alleged Russian attack on the Baltic states were “blown out of proportion.” According to Vseviov, Moscow “ultimately seeks… to change the entire European security architecture,” but it’s currently fully focused on the Ukraine conflict.

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week that “some European leaders are openly declaring that they are preparing for war with Russia” in an attempt to “cover up mistakes in their economic and social policies.”

 

“Instead of stopping and listening to their citizens, who have made it clear during the elections that they don’t want any war with Russia, these leaders continue to escalate the situation,” Putin stressed.

Marshall associate director gives NASA update

NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center associate director Roger Baird said the United States is in a second space race during a NASA update on Sept. 15.

“I think that China is looking at about 2030 and we’re looking at 2028,” Baird said. “It’s a hard business to keep on schedule, so I have doubts on theirs, but I don’t know how far along they are.”

 

He said Artemis III will take flight next year and will be a low-Earth orbit. With Artemis IV taking flight in 2028 and landing on the “south pole” side of the moon, leading to Artemis V – also set for 2028 – where the United States plans to build a permanent moon base.

“We weren’t the only ones to figure out the ‘south pole’ is the best place to have a base. We would like to get there first so they can’t do things like try to take ownership of (the resources and area) we don’t want that to be the case,” Baird said.

 

Baird’s update gave insight into the Artemis missions, saying that the first three missions were designed as “test missions” for the rockets. These rockets are the biggest the United States has seen since 1967 when the first flight-ready Saturn V rocket was completed.

Though the Artemis rockets don’t surpass the Saturn rockets in height or weight, they do surpass in power. Artemis’ Space Launch System produces almost 9 million pounds of thrust at liftoff, while the Saturn launch system produced 7.7 million pounds.

“As far as I know, this rocket (Artemis) is the only rocket that has ever been built that can carry astronauts and payload to orbit on a single launch,” Baird said. “Chemical propulsion is how you launch a rocket like this.”

 

Looking ahead from the Artemis missions, NASA is planning to land on Mars and secure a permanent base. He explained that the Moon is a week away, while Mars is months away.

Using nuclear-electric power instead of nuclear-thermal will be an “awful lot of work” when attempting to get a full rocket to the moon in six months.

 

He then noted that at Marshall, teams are producing and shipping off parts of Artemis to be “stacked to the rest of the vehicle.”

The most recent being the core stage of Artemis II, that was put on a waterway and shipped to Florida. “We also have parts coming by rail and the engines come from Stennis in Mississippi.”

 

Baird also said that when Artemis III is sent into low-Earth orbit, a lot of learning will happen with developments made by Boeing and SpaceX and a lander that was developed in partnership to the mission.

Artemis III and IV focus on this, with the lander being used and brought back after IV.

He explained NASA is looking to build systems that are “super, super effective and reliable” and that can be repaired.

 

These advancements build on research conducted across NASA centers. Baird said some offices still house paper records from earlier studies, while research has also been stored in NASA’s online database and at local centers since each center opened.

“I told you about that area of excellence we’re in, and again, one of ours is infrastructure. … Science is a big part of what drives us into all of the activities we do. For years and years, we’ve been learning and collecting.

So now you can find things like, when is the best time to travel to Mars, or when do we need to shield some of our receiver type communications from solar radiation. It all comes from science.”

NASA-Funded Research Finds Complex Life Defying Record Heat

NASA-supported scientists have discovered an organism that lives at extreme temperatures previously thought impossible for complex life.

High temperatures can cause the destruction of necessary cell components, which is a big problem for cells with complex parts like a nucleus encasing delicate genetic information.

 

In the heated waters of California’s Lassen Volcanic National Park, a team of scientists observed an amoeba that can reproduce by division at an astonishing 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degree Celsius), setting a record for the upper temperature limit for all known eukaryotes. Incendiamoeba cascadensis, also dubbed the fire amoeba, stops reproducing above 145 degrees Fahrenheit but is still active, moving around to search for food at up to 147 degrees Fahrenheit (64 Celsius).

The previous limit of 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 Celsius) for eukaryotes was set by a few species of fungi and red algae. The results were published on Tuesday in the journal Cell.

 

Astrobiologists have long studied the boundaries of life’s survival on Earth to determine how organisms might live on other worlds like Mars where conditions are less hospitable than our home planet.

Organisms that endure at the edges of habitability under extreme temperature, pH levels, radiation, and other environmental conditions are known as extremophiles. Studying them helps scientists understand what life as we know it is capable of.

Extremophiles also produce unique proteins that can have promising uses in biotechnology, from industrial applications to medicine.

 

Previous extremophile research has mostly focused on single-celled bacteria and archaea.

The new study shows that the more complex cells of eukaryotes might be more durable than previously thought and could even help scientists understand locations in the universe where complex life could survive.

 

Complex life on Earth

Life on Earth is broadly divided into two categories, prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Prokaryotes are single-cell organisms that do not have a nucleus or membrane-bound organelles inside their single cell.

This means that they have less cellular ‘machinery’ that can be damaged by extremes, such as blistering heat, bitter cold, caustic acidity, or damaging radiation.

 

Organisms that live in extreme heat are known as thermophiles. To be a true ‘heat-loving’ thermophile, the organism must be able to replicate, move, eat, and survive above 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius).

Prokaryotes include bacteria and archaea, with archaea being particularly adept at surviving extremes. Because of their relative simplicity, scientists also believe that prokaryotes were the first forms of life to appear on Earth, billions of years ago when the environment of our planet was much more inhospitable than it is today.

Eukaryotes are more complicated organisms that are thought to have evolved later in the history of life on Earth.

These organisms have a separate cell nucleus inside their cells that contains fragile genetic information. Eukaryotes also contain membrane-bound organelles, such as mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum.

Complexity in Extreme Heat

High temperatures lead to the breakdown of proteins and other biomolecules that living cells need to function. Heat also can cause membranes to break apart, thereby destroying cells.

It has been suggested that organelle membranes in eukaryotes could not remain stable above 144 degrees Fahrenheit (62 degrees Celsius). The discovery of I. cascadensis proves that assumption wrong.

 

“In part, studies on eukaryotes may have been limited because of assumptions about membrane stability,” says Beryl Rappaport, graduate student at Syracuse University and lead author of the study.

“We are hoping that the discovery of I. cascadensis encourages others to keep searching for high temperature eukaryotes.”

 

The team sequenced the I. cascadensis genome, studying the expression of genes at multiple temperatures. They found many genes that help the amoeba stabilize DNA and protect it from breaking down.

Other genes allow the organisms to sense the external environment. At high temperatures, the expression of certain genes also increased, including those involved in maintaining protein folding.

 

“We were able to uncover many strategies that could help I. cascadensis survive at high temperatures, and some of these strategies could be used by thermophiles across all life,” says Rappaport.

“For instance, some proteins in I. cascadensis have a high positive surface charge that could help them remain stable. These protein charges are similar to those found in thermophilic bacteria and archaea.”

 

The team also compared genetic information from other studies world-wide. In this trove of data, they found similar pieces of DNA from geothermal samples in places like New Zealand and Yellowstone National Park.

This means that additional thermophilic amoebas related to I. cascadensis might be living all around the globe just waiting to be discovered.

 

Search for life beyond Earth

Earth is the only planet we know of that is inhabited with life. For life as we know it to survive on other planets in the solar system or beyond, organisms might have to cope with environmental conditions that are very different from those found here at home.

“Studying extremophiles helps us better understand the biochemical and physiological limitations of life as we know it on Earth,” says Alison Olcott, program scientist for Exobiology at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

“This information, in turn, helps guide NASA’s search for life as it expands the range of conditions we think life could potentially be inhabiting elsewhere.”

 

In particular, the study increases our understanding of where and how life with complex cells might persist on Earth and beyond.

“Finding eukaryotes surviving in high temperature environments not only expands our understanding of where life could be found, but also of how complex that life could be,” says Olcott.

 

However, the researchers do point out that survival depends on many factors that are part of a larger ecosystem.

“It could certainly be possible for complex life like I. cascadensis to survive on another planet, but Earth is the only planet we currently know of to have all the requirements for I. cascadensis to be happy,” says Rappaport.

“It’s not just about temperature. An environment also needs the right acidity, oxygen levels, pressure, water, and food. I. cascadensis could not survive on its own. It needs other life to be supported as well.”

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope completed its 200,000th orbit around Earth on Sept. 19, marking another new milestone for an observatory that continues to transform our understanding of the universe.

 

Hubble has traveled more than 5 billion miles around Earth over its 36-year lifetime, exceeding 1.7 million total observations.

An observation completed on the day of the 200,000th orbit pertains to one of Hubble’s defining scientific legacies: measuring the expansion rate of the universe, or the Hubble Constant.

The image takes advantage of the telescope’s ability to return to the same regions of the sky over time to monitor for the reappearance of a supernova, or explosion of a star, called Athena.

 

Massive galaxy cluster MACS J0417, located at the left center of the image, acts as a gravitational lens, bending and magnifying light from objects far behind it.

Light from a supernova can reach Earth along multiple paths, causing the same stellar explosion to appear more than once at times separated by months or even years depending on the path it took.

Supernova Athena, discovered by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope in 2025, is predicted to reappear between now and early March 2027.

Measuring the timing of Athena’s reappearances can help researchers map the mass of MACS J0417, which acts as a magnifying, foreground lens for distant objects, and refine our understanding of the expansion rate of the universe.

 

After more than 36 years in space, Hubble still is reaching new heights of scientific productivity and impact.

Hubble’s unique ability to observe and analyze light in ultraviolet and visible wavelengths complements NASA’s James Webb and Roman Space Telescopes’ capabilities.

As a result, demand for Hubble observing time remains high as astronomers request about seven times as much observing time as is available each year.

US To Establish Two New Military Bases In Greenland

The United States plans to open two new military bases in Greenland, an expansion made possible by a new security agreement between the US, Denmark, and the semi-autonomous Danish territory of Greenland.

 

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen signed the new security agreement during a trilateral ceremony at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

 

The "agreement," which amends a 1951 defense treaty, allows the US "to establish an additional Defense Area at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig in accordance with modalities and technical details to be mutually agreed by the Parties," which is where the two new military bases will be created.

 

Narsarsuaq hosted the US Bluie West One military base in the 1940s and 1950s. Mestersvig is a current military outpost used by the Danish special forces unit called Sirius Dog Sled Patrol.

 

The agreement also allows the US to "modernize and expand its activities" at its existing Pituffik Space Base in northwestern Greenland, create additional military facilities on the island, and enjoy greater military access by land, air, and sea.

 

It also bans non-NATO nations from establishing a military presence on Greenland and provides the U.S. with economic privileges (such as “minerals cooperation”) in the resource-rich island.

 

During a speech to assembled world leaders at the UN before the trilateral ceremony, Trump spoke of the "unprecedented agreement regarding the northern frontier of North America, the large and strategically vital piece of land known as Greenland."

 

This rhetoric tracked with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s vow in March to establish a "Greater North America." However, the agreement does not have the US take over Greenland, as leaders on the island, in Denmark, and throughout Europe had feared earlier this year.

 

Such fears were well placed, considering that the US conquered Venezuela in January, has been working toward regime change in Cuba, and is currently at war with Iran.

Israel is facing accusations of genocide over its military campaign in Lebanon, where thousands have been killed and large areas devastated. RT correspondent Steve Sweeney reports from Nabatieh, a city in the south of the country that has been repeatedly hit by Israeli strikes.

 

More than 4,300 people, including over 250 children and 130 medical professionals, have been killed since the latest escalation began in March, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

 

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Doctors Against Genocide have accused Israel of pursuing what they called a “genocidal policy of absolute destruction,” targeting the foundations of life of Lebanon’s Shia communities. The groups said attacks on medical personnel were part of a sustained pattern affecting “the very systems necessary for civilian survival.”

 

Around 56,000 hectares of agricultural land have been affected, with losses to the sector estimated at more than $1 billion, according to Lebanon’s Agriculture Ministry.

 

Israel denies that its campaign targets Lebanon’s Shia population, saying its operations are directed against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese armed group. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has warned, however, that Beirut’s predominantly Shia Dahiya district would “look like Khan Yunis,” referring to a war-devastated city in Gaza.

 

The latest Israeli campaign in Lebanon began in early March, after Hezbollah attacked Israel following the start of US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Israel responded with airstrikes and later expanded its military operations in Lebanon.

 

Israeli attacks have continued despite a US-brokered framework agreed upon in June aimed at ending the fighting. The deal calls for a progressive Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon alongside Lebanese Army deployments and the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah, but implementation has stalled.

 

Under the 1948 Genocide Convention, genocide requires intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group. RT looks at whether the destruction and statements accompanying Israel’s campaign could meet that definition.

Ivan Raiklin says Dr. Terry Adirim mandated the emergency-use product, not the licensed one. Federal statute required a written informed-consent waiver requested by the Secretary of Defense and signed by the President. That paper was never signed. The troops still took the order — or lost the uniform.

 

Dr. Terry Adirim’s Sept. 14, 2021 memorandum ordered DoD providers to use EUA-labeled Pfizer-BioNTech and FDA-licensed Comirnaty doses “interchangeably” to vaccinate service members.

10 U.S.C. § 1107a says troops receiving an emergency-use product retain the option to refuse absent a written presidential national-security waiver. The Pentagon’s DoD Instruction 6200.02 says only the Secretary of Defense may ask for one.

 

Ivan Raiklin says that request never went up and no signed waiver came back. Adirim’s two-page memo told the force to treat EUA doses as licensed doses.

A federal claims court later rejected the argument that medical interchangeability erased the legal difference. It ruled that the Coast Guard, after offering only EUA vials, had to honor the right to refuse or seek the President’s waiver. It did neither.

 

The Pentagon’s May 2025 remedies guidance called the mandate “unlawful as implemented,” ordered record corrections, and opened a path to reinstatement and back pay. The troops paid first. Congress needs Adirim under oath.

The Harvest Moon is nearly upon us, and despite more than a trillion data points collected over decades of study, the Moon still holds many mysteries:

The Moon has been photographed, scanned, measured and mapped a lot, but making sense of information collected by different spacecraft, using different instruments, at different resolutions and under radically different lighting conditions is incredibly challenging.

The new NASA-IBM Lunar Foundation Model brings those pieces together into a single AI foundation model for the Moon. Based on the same architecture as our TerraMind Earth-observation model, the model allows scientists to analyze these different types of lunar data together. Think of it as a bridge helping scientists turn fragmented observations into a coherent picture.

AI finds what traditional analysis misses 💧

One of the model’s first jobs is helping scientists search for frozen water, in hopes that it could one day provide drinking water for astronauts, oxygen for life-support systems and even hydrogen and oxygen for rocket fuel.

The challenge is that these craters are incredibly difficult to study. At the lunar poles, the sun barely rises above the horizon. Long shadows obscure the terrain, while extreme temperature swings create some of the harshest conditions in the solar system.

These are precisely the kinds of environments where AI excels: situations with enormous amounts of data, incomplete information and patterns that are difficult for humans to spot.

In testing, the NASA-IBM model reduced ice-detection errors by 22% compared with a leading task-specific AI model.

One model with many missions ☄️

The same model is also helping scientists identify craters. 🕳️

 

Unlike Earth, the Moon has no weather, rivers or plate tectonics to erase evidence of the past. Impacts remain visible for millions of years.

By studying craters, scientists can better understand the age and evolution of different regions of the Moon.

Scientists are also using the model to study unusual volcanic formations known as irregular mare patches, which may be much younger than once thought.

If confirmed, they could reshape our understanding of when lunar volcanic activity ended. The more accurately scientists can map these regions, the closer they may get to answering one of the Moon’s enduring mysteries:

AI is both helping researchers answer existing questions and identify entirely new areas to investigate. Historically, scientists used computing primarily to accelerate known workflows.

Foundation models can also reveal patterns, anomalies and relationships that researchers might not have thought to look for in the first place.

GOP Senator Calls On Senate Judiciary Committee To Investigate Don Jr., Hunter Biden. Most Members Haven’t Even Opened The Letter

 

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee split along party lines on whether to support Republican Utah Sen. John Curtis’ calls to investigate and subpoena Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden despite not having read his letter.

 

Curtis urged the committee in a letter to investigate the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit, citing Donald Trump Jr.’s and Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. Some members of the committee appeared interested in supporting Curtis’ requests, though most of them have yet to read the letter.

 

“I therefore respectfully request that the Senate Judiciary Committee launch an investigation into the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit, preferential treatment, or access by domestic and foreign interests,” Curtis wrote. “As part of that investigation, I urge the Committee to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden to testify regarding their past business dealings, relationships with foreign individuals and entities, gifts, or other benefits they have received, and any instances in which their relationship to the President was invoked or understood to private value.”

 

Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley told the Daily Caller News Foundation and other reporters that he had not read the letter hours after its release.

 

“I can’t answer that question for you, or him, or anybody else because I just told a journalist downstairs I wasn’t going to answer the question until I read the letter,” said Grassley, an Iowa Republican.

 

When asked why he hadn’t read the letter,” Grassley said, “I just got to town.”

 

Retiring Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis said he would not oppose an investigation.

 

“I haven’t [seen the letter]. I hear it’s about an investigation. It’s up to the chair, I would oppose it,” Tillis told the DCNF when asked if he would support an investigation.

 

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said he did not know enough about the allegations against Don Jr. and Hunter Biden and said he would defer to Grassley.

 

Democratic ranking member Dick Durbin said he supported Curtis’ request to open an investigation.

 

“It was a great letter, I support it,” Durbin told the DCNF. “I think we ought to have an investigation into Donald Trump Jr.”

 

Durbin said Hunter Biden already agreed to cooperate with any investigation into his business dealings.

 

Democratic Delaware Sen. Chris Coons praised Curtis for wanting an investigations opened into possible corruption by Donald Trump Jr. He did not mention any possible corruption or wrongdoing committed by Hunter Biden.

 

“No one is above the law,” Coons said. “I’m glad to see Republican colleagues like John increasingly refusing to turn a blind eye to corruption from this administration and the Trump family. The American people want an equal standard.”

BOEBERT: Drones Are Bringing The Surveillance State To Your Front Door

 

At the moment, the United States government has no official public count of how many drones law enforcement agencies own and fly in the U.S. There is no list from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Justice (DOJ), or any state agency accessible to the public. Various industry estimates put police drone programs in the thousands — one recently cited as high as about 6,000. Congress should not have to take its numbers from corporate executives on quarterly earnings calls about how many drones are already circling overhead and surveilling the American people. The Department of Transportation, FAA, DOJ, and the Office of Justice Programs should put the fleets on the books and brief the House and Senate.

 

Until recently, most drones sold to police departments were made in China, raising significant concerns about Chinese government access and influence — either directly from China or through American companies that marked them up and profited. Congress has spent years trying to stop the Chinese drone invasion of our police departments. Those efforts were necessary. They are not finished. Even if new sales slow, fleets of Chinese drones remain deployed across the nation. And there are still continued efforts to keep Chinese components, software, and supply chains in the fleet.

 

Not one piece of hardware or software from the People’s Republic of China belongs on a police or federal drone in the United States, or in any piece of related equipment for that matter.

 

Not the chip, camera, battery, flight controller, app, firmware, or cloud login.

 

Grant funding, FAA registration, and operational approval should not be granted to aircraft or ground systems that contain Chinese hardware or software. American first responders deserve American supply chains.

 

That is already the direction of federal law, and it ought to be enforced without loopholes. Section 848 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 barred the Department of Defense from operating or contracting for covered foreign unmanned aircraft systems and critical components. The American Security Drone Act of 2023 was enacted as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024. The order on funding Unmanned Aircraft Systems says no Office of Justice Programs funds may go to unmanned aircraft systems manufactured or assembled by a covered foreign entity, with only limited exceptions.

 

Members of Congress should not have to guess how many drones are flying overhead. Congress must investigate and coordinate with executive agencies to determine the facts: how many unmanned aircraft federal agencies and state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies already fly; fleet size by agency; their missions and payloads; and under what rules, if any, they operate. That is the level of transparency we need for government-used drones. Existing fleets should be registered within 30 days of operational deployment so we can put the brakes on unfettered overhead surveillance.

 

Federal tax dollars should go to real emergencies — search and rescue, wrecks, officer safety, and a barricaded suspect — not ever-present aerial patrol above American homes.

 

Those dollars already flow through the Office of Justice Programs, the Community Oriented Policing Services Office, Byrne Justice Assistance Grants, among others. Unmanned aerial systems are an explicit priority for Fiscal Year 2026 Community Oriented Policing Services Community Policing Development. “Drone as first responder” is not a substitute for a warrant. Persistent neighborhood surveillance is a general warrant from the sky, and a microphone on a drone is an intercept. Listening should require the same legal process as a Title III wiretap under 18 U.S.C. §§ 2510–2523, or the state equivalent — no fishing expeditions, audit logs, and short retention.

 

Weaponized drones bought with Department of Justice grant money are already banned. That ban should apply to all related funding streams unless Congress authorizes otherwise.

 

No guns. No launchers. No explosives.

 

An officer with a badge and a lawful use-of-force policy is accountable. Flying weapons over Main Street is not how we support first responders.

The country’s deeper experience in this sort of warfare goes back ten years, Burnham said — not naming the defeat of progressive sentiment in the Brexit referendum ten years ago in 2016, but tacitly implying this was the first battle in this shadow war against information — stating British elections had also been targeted by Russia.

 

Because there is “no national security” without a cohesive society to build it on, Burnham said the level of threat he intended to fight justified extraordinary reach for this new information control body, stating:

This “industrial-scale assault by hostile actors on the information environment in the UK” by “Russian agencies” includes spreading disinformation to prey on ordinary people’s fears, he said, and amplifying “far-right narratives” by stoking “tensions and unrest in the wake of horrific events”, terror attacks.

More than a year later, both organizations’ names appear among roughly two dozen signatories on a June 1 letter to the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means urging lawmakers to advance House Bill 2554 (H.2554).

 

The bill would “remove the non-medical exemption from required school vaccines and enhance data collection and sharing to better track immunization rates,” according to the letter.

 

Patti Wukovits and Alicia Stillman, ASMP’s co-executive directors, and Chloe Schwartz, March of Dimes’ director of its maternal and infant health initiative, signed on behalf of their organizations.

 

Massachusetts currently allows parents to opt their children out of school vaccination requirements on religious grounds. The bill would eliminate that option, leaving only medical exemptions.

 

ASMP separately describes itself as focused on educating young people and parents about meningococcal meningitis. The March of Dimes has publicly credited Pfizer as an “inaugural supporter” of its vaccine-education campaign, describing a partnership that supports work encouraging adherence to the vaccine schedule recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

 

Neither organization has publicly addressed the timing of the donations relative to their support for H.2554.

 

Pfizer’s disclosure does not indicate the money was earmarked specifically for opposing Massachusetts’ religious exemption. The stated purposes are broader vaccine-policy campaigns tied to meningococcal disease and maternal immunization.

Iran Reaffirms Control Over Hormuz With Deadly Attack (Video, Photos)

 

A cargo ship caught fire after being struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on September 23, with two casualties reported and the crew evacuated, in the latest attack underscoring Iran’s tight grip on the strategic waterway.

 

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) center, which monitors maritime security in the Middle East, said it received a report at about from the vessel’s company security officer.

 

“The Company Security Officer of a cargo vessel reports being struck by an unknown projectile,” UKMTO said. “The vessel is on fire and adrift.”

 

“All crew have been evacuated with 2 casualties reported,” the agency added, advising ships operating in the area to exercise caution and report suspicious activity.

 

The vessel was later identified by maritime security sources as the Antigua and Barbuda-flagged bulk carrier Cape Dao. The Indian Embassy in Oman said one Indian national was killed in the attack and that it was coordinating with Omani authorities over the safety of the remaining crew, including 19 Indian nationals aboard the ship.

 

The attack also highlights the gap between Washington’s claims about freedom of navigation through the strait and conditions facing commercial vessels. President Donald Trump said at the United Nations a day earlier that the U.S. military had recently escorted more than 1 billion barrels of oil out of the Gulf.

 

“We recently announced we have escorted more than one billion barrels of oil out of the Gulf,” Trump said.

 

Trump has portrayed the U.S. military presence as restoring oil flows through the strategic waterway. U.S. Central Command has also affirmed that more than 1 billion barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz over a recent two-month period with U.S. assistance, alongside more than 2,000 vessel transits.

 

But the latest attack illustrates that Iran continues to exercise substantial control over the practical use of the strait despite those U.S. claims. Shipping through the waterway remains far below prewar levels, with Reuters reporting that only 17 commodity vessels crossed during one recent weekend, compared with an average of about 125 vessels a day before the conflict.

 

Iran has also continued to impose conditions on shipping through the waterway. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said this week that Tehran’s conditions for easing maritime restrictions included an end to the U.S. naval blockade, the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to the wider war.

 

The latest strike therefore comes despite Washington’s assertion that it has reopened and secured the Strait of Hormuz. With merchant ships still being attacked and traffic remaining heavily restricted, the waterway remains under tight Iranian control.

Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Production of Child Pornography

 

Tallahassee, Florida – Keagan Garrett Bohlinger, 26, of Monticello, Florida, pleaded guilty in federal court to 11 counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography from the internet. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

 

U.S. Attorney Heekin said: “It is one of my office’s top priorities to target and aggressively prosecute anyone who sexually exploits and victimizes a child. The fact that this defendant served as a public safety officer makes the commission of his heinous crimes even more egregious, and my office will pursue maximum punishment to achieve justice for the minor victim.”

 

Court documents reflect that the defendant was a Monticello Police Department Officer who sexually abused a young child and produced multiple videos and images of the sexual abuse on three occasions in January 2026. He also possessed videos and images of child pornography downloaded from the internet.

 

The defendant faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 350 years, which includes up to 30 years per production count, and 20 years for possession, all potentially running consecutively. After his release from prison, the defendant will be a registered sex offender and will be sentenced to supervised release for at least 5 years and up to life.

 

The case involved an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James A. McCain.

The panel included Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Ken Wilsbach and his wife, Cindy; Chief of Space Operations Gen. Douglas Schiess and his wife, Debbie; Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force David Wolfe and his wife, Dr. Doniel Wolfe; and Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force John Bentivegna and his wife, Cathy. Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Burt Field, president and CEO of the Air & Space Forces Association, moderated the panel at the association’s 2026 Air, Space & Cyber Conference on Sept. 16.

The discussion underscored a central theme: “Readiness begins at home.” The panelists agreed that strong families build strong units and a stronger national defense.

 

Evolving Perspectives on Leadership

Wilsbach explained how his view of leadership has changed over his 41-year career and 26 moves with Cindy. “When you start out earlier in your career, you’re very focused on the mission,” he said. “As I’ve gained rank and responsibility, the people piece really expands.”

Mrs. Wilsbach shared a memorable example from their time at Kadena Air Base in 2009. While meeting with deployed spouses, she noticed one woman who answered she was “fine” when asked by her husband but clearly was not.

“After watching the interaction, I knew she wasn’t fine, so I stepped back and said, ‘is everything okay’, and it wasn’t okay. She had a child with a health problem and was far away from family,” she recounted.

“That shows me the value of what I bring to this table. I sometimes see things, and I’m told things that he’s not.”

"All our family members are part of a team. When John gets deployed, that's his away game and he's busy taking care of his away game family,” said Mrs. Bentivegna. “But the other teammates are still at home with roles to play.

We still have our own goals, and in order to keep a successful team, we have to have good communication. We have to understand the mission, what's going on, and keep everyone, especially our kids, involved to feel part of the team."

 

Dr. Wolfe highlighted the power of simple kindness, quoting a lesson she learned: “If you treat everybody you meet as if they are going through some big trouble in their life, more than half the time you’ll be right.” She encouraged everyone to make saying “hello” a regular practice.

 

Family Stability Equals Warfighter Readiness

The panelists stressed that families directly impact the ability of Airmen and Guardians to focus on the mission. Gen. Schiess noted the unique challenges for a large portion of Space Force personnel who are employed in place.

"I learned early on that if I understand 'the why,' then I can invest more and I can support better as a spouse,” said Mrs. Schiess. “And so, taking the time to fill me in, even if he can't give me the details, to say, 'there's something big going on at work and stress levels are high.'

Those kind of pieces of information help me to better support him, and I encourage other military members to do the same."

 

The spouses and their counterparts in the other services are members of the Military Spouse Commission, which President Donald Trump established to advise and assist the president on policies that affect military spouses and families.

 

Advice to the Next Generation

Panelists were asked what advice they would give to young Airmen, Guardians and their spouses who are just beginning their military journey and offered the following responses:

• Take every opportunity to grow professionally and personally.

• Build and nurture strong relationships.

• Recognize that military service is a family service to the nation.

• Prioritize physical fitness, financial responsibility and emotional resilience.

• Understand the “why” behind the mission to support one another more effectively.

• Never underestimate the power of simple human connection.

 

"You have to really embrace the preciousness of time because you can't get it back,” said Chief Bentivegna. “We're always focusing on that next assignment, next rotation, or the next deployment.

You think, 'I've got plenty of time to focus on my finances, education, family, relationships … but you can't get that time back. Make the most of it."

In the biblical account, Noah’s enormous vessel carried his family and representatives of every animal species through a devastating flood—an event that some biblical timelines date to more than 4,300 years ago.

Researchers from several countries studying the Durupınar Formation near Mount Ararat now say they are “100 percent confirmed” that the site is not a naturally formed geological structure, but instead a “man-made object.”

New ground-penetrating radar scans have reportedly identified what appear to be layered structures, unusually straight features, right-angled junctions and large voids buried at different depths.

The most eye-catching interpretation involves possible chambers, passageways and tunnels beneath the surface. Investigators also identified a substantial underground layer that appears to divide into three sections, which they have linked to the three-deck design described in the Book of Genesis.

Core samples taken during drilling revealed a stratum containing abundant organic material. Scientists are now examining those samples to establish whether any of the material could be decomposed wood.

Jones stressed that the findings have not conclusively proved the formation is the vessel described in the Bible.

Even so, he said: “I firmly believe the Durupınar Formation is the buried remains of Noah’s Ark.”

He characterized the latest radar results as a “compelling new line of evidence” that the site may contain structures created by humans, while acknowledging that the scans do not amount to final proof.

An earlier radar survey carried out in 2019 revealed a series of straight and angular abnormalities. The research team interpreted those patterns as possible walls, corridors and individual internal compartments.

A more extensive survey in 2026, led by Dr Khosrow Bakhtar, employed a high-powered radar system developed through US Air Force research. The technology was designed to penetrate considerably deeper than the equipment used in previous studies.

The deeper scans recorded broad, layered reflectors—subsurface boundaries that send radar signals back toward the surface—as well as features the researchers believe could be cavities partially filled with sediment.

The international research team says it is “100 percent confident” the formation was created by humans

Two additional large anomalies were estimated to be roughly 26 feet and 39 feet high. A separate underground feature measured approximately 23 feet in height.

Why It Matters

A presidential commission studying whether to establish a U.S. Space Academy has just 120 days to recommend how to build a new military service institution from scratch.

President Trump signed Executive Order 14423 on August 28, directing the effort, and the commission must deliver its report by late December. The stakes are significant for Congress and the administration:

creating a federal service academy would require legislation, substantial appropriations, and decisions about governance, curriculum, and service obligations that will shape how the Space Force develops its officer corps for decades.

A new Congressional Research Service report examining the proposal notes that when Congress established the Air Force Academy in 1954, it took nearly seven years of review and debate before the legislation passed, and the initial appropriation alone totaled $126 million in 1954 dollars, equivalent to approximately $1.87 billion in 2026 dollars.

 

The Big Picture

The commission, chaired by the NASA Administrator, is tasked with developing recommendations across six critical areas: governance framework, curriculum, candidate eligibility, service obligations, site location, and coordination with existing federal programs.

The stated purpose of the executive order includes preparing the next generation of astronauts, scientists, engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and warfighters. One framework under consideration is establishing the academy within NASA.

 

The Space Force, established in 2019, currently develops officers primarily through the U.S. Air Force Academy and the Air Force's Reserve Officer Training Course, and has relied on interservice transfers to grow its uniformed workforce.

The service is the smallest branch of the Armed Forces, with approximately 15,400 uniformed and civilian personnel in fiscal year 2025 and roughly 4,700 active duty officers. In 2026, the Air Force Academy commissioned 93 officers into the Space Force out of 902 total graduates.

 

Five academies currently operate: the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, each operating under different departments.

The three military service academies and Coast Guard Academy require minimum commissioned service obligations in the Armed Forces. U.S. Merchant Marine Academy graduates are required to accept a reserve officer commission, obtain and maintain merchant mariner licensure, and serve a minimum amount of time as an officer or civilian employee in the maritime industry.

 

When Congress designed the Air Force Academy decades earlier, multiple governance and education models were considered before lawmakers settled on one largely mirroring the Army's existing structure.

That historical precedent suggests the commission's recommendations will face scrutiny about whether a new academy should follow established patterns or chart a different course.

 

The Bottom Line

The commission's December deadline will force early decisions on a question that consumed seven years of congressional debate in the 1950s.

RAF launches first ever space squadron dedicated to defending Britain's satellites

The RAF has launched No. III Space Effects Squadron, its first dedicated unit to counter hostile threats to UK satellites.

 

New No. III Space Effects Squadron will be the UK’s first unit dedicated to disrupting, degrade, and deny hostile threats in space.

The squadron will protect the critical satellites that guide British ships, connect mobile phones and warn of missile attacks.

Forms a key part of the UK’s ability to gain and maintain freedom to operate in space, as set out in the government’s Space Strategy published this month.

Satellites vital to everyday life in the UK are set to be protected from hostile threats, as the RAF launches the UK’s first ever dedicated space squadron focused on disrupting, degrading, and denying enemy activity targeting British interests in space.

 

Announced today by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smith at the first-ever UK Space Power Conference, No. III Space Effects Squadron will bring together specialist personnel from across the Armed Forces to counter hostile activity in orbit and defend the satellites the nation depends on every day.

 

While sister units No. I Space Operations Squadron and No. II Space Warning Squadron give the RAF the ability to watch and warn of threats in space, the new No. III Squadron will act against those threats, using advanced technology, including Electronic Warfare, to disrupt, degrade and deny hostile actions. The squadron will support both offensive and defensive space operations and will expand over time as new capabilities enter service.

 

It comes as the Defence Secretary Wes Streeting will give a keynote address at the Space Conference.
