Disgraced Mogul Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison in NYC Court
The long NYC effort to get Weinstein to pay for his alleged crimes comes to an end.
The convoluted legal drama involving the NYC trials of Harvey Weinstein has finally ended as he is sentenced to 15 years in prison after 2 retrials that ended in hung juries.
Quick explanation: the disgraced Hollywood mogul was convicted in California in 2022 for three sex crimes, committed in 2013, against an unidentified Italian model and actress: forcible rape, Forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration by a foreign object.
For the crimes in this California trial, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison, a conviction that he is serving now, although he is to be resentenced in the future.
But in New York, things have been even more complex.
His original 2020 NYC conviction was overturned by New York’s highest court in 2024 due to improper admission of testimony from uncharged accusers.
So, Weinstein had a 2025 retrial, in which prosecutors charged him with crimes against three women: the 2025 jury convicted him of one criminal sexual act count (involving Mimi Haley), acquitted him on another (involving Kaja Sokola), but was deadlocked on the Jessica Mann rape charge — leading to a mistrial.
Weinstein had a second retrial on the Jessica Mann charge in 2026, and a mistriProsecutors declined to try him again, in part because Jessica Mann refused to testify for a third time and face a grueling cross-examination.
So, now, all that’s left if for the decaying mogul to be sentenced for his conviction for a criminal sexual act count involving Mimi Haley from the 2025 retrial.al was declared again.

“Decrepit Harvey Weinstein will finally learn his fate in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday — as the disgraced Hollywood mogul faces up to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a former TV production worker. Weinstein, 74, was convicted in June 2025 of first-degree criminal sex act for attacking former ‘Project Runway’ production assistant Miriam ‘Mimi’ Haley inside his SoHo apartment in 2006.
[…] The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is arguing that Weinstein should be locked up for 20 years on the conviction, citing the ‘significant harms’ the ex-Miramax boss caused to Haley. The once powerful producer’s long-delayed sentencing comes nearly a decade after an avalanche of sexual misconduct allegations ended his career and kick-started the #MeToo movement.

While the trials and retrials have been going on, Weinstein has been incarcerated at Rikers Island, battling health concerns while serving his conviction and awaiting his LA resentence.

A strange, boat-like landform high in Turkey’s mountains has reignited one of history’s most enduring mysteries: could it be the buried remains of Noah’s Ark?
In the biblical account, Noah’s enormous vessel carried his family and representatives of every animal species through a devastating flood—an event that some biblical timelines date to more than 4,300 years ago.
Researchers from several countries studying the Durupınar Formation near Mount Ararat now say they are “100 percent confirmed” that the site is not a naturally formed geological structure, but instead a “man-made object.”
New ground-penetrating radar scans have reportedly identified what appear to be layered structures, unusually straight features, right-angled junctions and large voids buried at different depths.
The most eye-catching interpretation involves possible chambers, passageways and tunnels beneath the surface. Investigators also identified a substantial underground layer that appears to divide into three sections, which they have linked to the three-deck design described in the Book of Genesis.
Core samples taken during drilling revealed a stratum containing abundant organic material. Scientists are now examining those samples to establish whether any of the material could be decomposed wood.
Jones stressed that the findings have not conclusively proved the formation is the vessel described in the Bible.
Even so, he said: “I firmly believe the Durupınar Formation is the buried remains of Noah’s Ark.”
He characterized the latest radar results as a “compelling new line of evidence” that the site may contain structures created by humans, while acknowledging that the scans do not amount to final proof.
An earlier radar survey carried out in 2019 revealed a series of straight and angular abnormalities. The research team interpreted those patterns as possible walls, corridors and individual internal compartments.
A more extensive survey in 2026, led by Dr Khosrow Bakhtar, employed a high-powered radar system developed through US Air Force research. The technology was designed to penetrate considerably deeper than the equipment used in previous studies.
The deeper scans recorded broad, layered reflectors—subsurface boundaries that send radar signals back toward the surface—as well as features the researchers believe could be cavities partially filled with sediment.

Two additional large anomalies were estimated to be roughly 26 feet and 39 feet high. A separate underground feature measured approximately 23 feet in height.
