>the Wx Hype Machine is out of control

Yep but.

That big HP ridging is classic Super El Nino.

All that Western Pac heat that's now Eastern Pac heat has to go somewhere.

Hello Dixie/Tejas how are ya!

Also, the lack of a Atlantic/Gulf cane season is yet another classic sign that played out per usual.

Which prolly means a very wet southern half USA winter since, once again, all that pent up Gulf heat/moisture has to go somewhere.

Big heat ridging until deep into the Autumn.

The question is always where it's centered (SW? Tex? Dix?).

Then late Autumn through Spring the so-called Pineapple Express gets cranking with non-stop action from Cali through the Gulf Coast.

That's when all the flooding gets cranked up.

Now, if you're north of the Mason-Dixon line there's a strong chance of a dry/mild winter (especially the Northern Plains).

That said, many such Wx Geeks say that's moar strongly dependent on the other oscillations that impact those regions not going mental at the same time.

So, lovers of Nor'Easters need not fret since there's still a chance with all that southern moisture available.

1982-83 | 1997-98 | 2015-16

Those are the previous 3 (near) record temp displacement seasons that are considered Super El Nino.

Those are the ones that have begun to show consistency, at least in the regional geographic sense.

The others (such as 92-93) are considered just Joe Six Pack regular El Ninos that are moar heavily influenced by the other oceanic based oscillations.

So far this Super is looking generally the same as the other Supers.

We'll see if it holds or becomes a yuge past performance is not indicative of the future.
