As President Donald Trump named his picks to fill two influential seats on the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors, the price of gold surged. That may be because one of the them, Judy Shelton, is a believer in the return to the gold standard, a money policy abandoned by the U.S. in 1971.
Shelton is raising eyebrows among mainstream economists for her views, which include slashing the Fed's benchmark rate to zero and pegging the value of the dollar to gold prices. She's not the first Trump pick for the Fed to advocate a return to the gold standard, with his two previous failed Fed choices Stephen Moore and Herman Cain also advocating for a revival of the policy.

It makes no difference who owns what, if they
employ engineers who turn up to work on pushbikes,
they will all fail.
Auto engineers must love cars without the environment as
one of their issues.
And that is the downfall of the eu auto industry.
People who hate cars are employed to sabotage
auto engineering costing manufacturers billions
in profit per model run.
It's basically industrial espionage from the HR departments.
Because they're building for a cars lifespan of 5 to 10years max,
ten dispose.
the problem is they're not even reaching that age, due to regulation restrictions, meaning
engines are lasting less than 50 thousand kilometres.
They purposely design in plastic parts, water hoses etc, to run in hot areas of the engine bay.
For example between the V of a V6 or V8, underneath the intake assembly, where you can't see the small crack in the hose,
it bursts, coolant is lost, stupid driver doesn't stop,
goodbye engine, still in warranty, recalls etc, don't help,
manufacturer loses billions, including reputation.
It completely fucked I tell you.
Exactly, transmissions with no dipstick, you can't even change the transmission fluid.
There is no drain plug.
They call it a lifetime filling, but that lifetime is around 60 thousand Kilometers for an average car.
