A JetBlue airliner, about to take off from JFK on Tuesday night, turned back to the terminal after an issue with its communications system and was surrounded by police cars and other first responders on the tarmac.
The pilot of Flight 1623, bound for Los Angeles, reported a problem with the plane’s radio equipment, FAA sources said.
It wasn’t immediately clear why there was such a large response from Port Authority cops and firefighters.
