Watching The Sum of All Fears right now and something clicked. Well several things actually, but this for now.
Plants need WATER.

Feels like two dots just connected for me.
Several theories about WHAT the water is, and probably has more than one meaning, but, WATER may mean information, purposely released information to feed the plants. Something about the info that we or someone else needs to watch or follow.
Another thing that stands out, in the movie at least, is that the Russians are being setup by another group. It got me to thinking. A lot of mischief is from the EU and the "royal" families. WHO would or could potentially benefit from Russian and the US coming to blows? Russia, China and the US are basically the big three players, what if certain groups within the EU are trying to make a power play?
Sounds kind of out there but who knows.
