They believe that they are enlightened, superior humans, and the rest of us are just sheep who would never understand. It's not that far removed from the relationship we have with normies. We know and see stuff that the normies refuse to believe even when we painstakingly try to explain it to them.

There's speculation that the paintings are based on photographs given to the artist. Probably some sort of sick service where the pedos take pictures of their favorite victims and have it immortalized later in a painting.
