I don't think anyone said for sure it came from the island (that guy must have missed those breads). In fact the general consensus was that it would have been a sub launch (eg Trident D5) if anything.
A helicopter would have nav lights at minimum, possibly others in takeoff configuration.
But ok, from now on shall we refer to it as the Whidbey Island Helicopter Search Light Incident of 2018?
