We tried Ritalin for my son who is on the autism spectrum when he was 7 or 8. He was a perfect 85 lbs. for his size. Less than 2 months later he lost 15 pounds, would have major emotional meltdowns when the medication wore off and looked liked he was starving to death.
I said NEVER AGAIN would I give my son something to make him more acceptable for the educational system.
He is a healthy 16 year old today who still has a focus and attention problem, but the Ritalin didn't change that anyway.
I always wondered why they pushed so hard when he was so young.
Stopped trusting BIG PHARMA a long time ago. These statistics do not surprise me at all.
