I feel you. I hope this message reaches you. I used to drink about 8-10 beers a day for 10+ years. Was up to 209lbs before I stopped, which for a 5’7 guy was fat as fk. I was very depressed and suicidal. Alch is a depressant. Remember that.
For me it was a bad break up. I didn’t want to live like that anymore. I started praying and meditating a lot. Every night I envisioned where I wanted to be and I prayed to God and the Holy Spirit for help. I gave myself 3 months to change my life around.
I joined a gym, and got a trainer. It was intimidating at first but everyone starts somewhere. Ate only oatmeal, celery and protein, w protein shakes, glutamine for recovery, and collagen so fat loss wouldn’t leave me w loose skin. Substituted beer for black iced coffee. No sugar and all. No bread at all. No carbs at all. Each beer is roughly 160 calories and alch turns to sugar. 3000 calories is 1lb of fat. Coffee is 5 calories. Pushups, lunges, weights. No cardio.
Saw a shrink. Went to the beach a lot. Spent time in the gym instead of drinking or in front of the computer. Mind gained clarity. Depression went away. Bowl movement became normal. Lost 70lbs of fat in the 3 months and gained a few lbs of muscle. Dick worked like I was 20 again. Got a lot of attention and pssy. Got a better job and treated myself nicer. Did the things I wanted instead of thinking about the things I couldn’t. Dropped down to 135 ripped.
4 years later no beer. I didn’t drink at all for a year. Now I’ll have a glass of whiskey every few months or a glass of wine w my wifey.
Oh ya, I got married to a beautiful and kind woman about 2 years ago as well.
You can do it, just think about what you want more in life. The beer or happiness. Keep that in mind every moment and take one step at a time. Remember the alchy is not making you happy. Make it a mantra. You are choosing to be happy. You are choosing to be happy. You are choosing to be happy.
