>Most people can see the inherent benefits in pragmatic approaches to policy, because they’re not irretrievably committed to principles in their own political worldview. This is the chink in their armor.

Good point anon. And I do see where you're coming from. You can't bake religion/principles into someone but you can certainly show them that policies "just make sense".

hey anon

get your fucking panties out of a wad.

You don't need to be an ass here. You can talk like you're talking to your grandmother/father figure/ or what ever.

This is the fucking hive mind. Respect it or gtfo.

We are anonymous. That includes the bakers. The bakers are SUPPOSED to put baker change but don't assume that they do. So don't complain if something that you liked didn't get to notables. I had 2 posts a couple breads ago that should have been notables. Only one is in there. Maybe I'll repost the other one and see if the new baker approves of them.

You can do the same. If you can't handle the baker ignoring (or skipping ) your post then simply repost it.

Thank you for a well reasoned and well thought out post. And you have an excellent point about epithets- betterment of the lives of every American citizen.

How do you approach the black community? As a white person I don't care for /them/ too much. But if I was really honest with myself, it's not the person itself. I grew up with black friends, it's just the proclivity of a certain (larger) percentage (than white people) of black people to commit crimes and such. I don't care to live within proximity of them because they tend to commit crime.

You don't seem too familiar with 8ch. May I suggest picking up this javascript and installing in your browser?

I also suggest turning on color ID and enable inlining.

1950

Often looked to as a model era, the 1950s may have been nearly as picture-perfect as

Leave it to Beaver

seemed to suggest―minimum wage workers could pay rent for a month for less than a week and a half of full-time work―or catch Disney’s

Cinderella

for just over a half-hour of labor.

Minimum wage:

$0.75/hour

Gas:

$0.27 or 22m

Movie ticket:

$0.48 or 38m

Rent:

$42 or 56hrs

(All figures represent the average cost of a movie ticket, a gallon of gas, and the median rent.)

2010

Though the housing crash actually made rent more affordable, minimum-wage workers still had to put in 109 hours of work (or more than 60% of monthly income) in 2010. Of course, in cities like New York, the numbers are much higher. In 2010, the NY-Northern NJ-Long Island area had a median gross rent of $1,125, which equals 155 hours of work. Basically, if you worked full-time, didn’t eat, commute, or pay utilities, and gave nearly every penny to your landlord, you could just make it in the Big Apple.

Minimum wage:

$7.25/hour

Gas:

$2.78 or 23m

Movie ticket:

$7.95 or 1hr, 6m

Rent:

$602 or 109hrs

>I really like how you factored the time in proportional to the minimum wage. Ultimately that is what really matters.

I pulled it from the website I sourced right after.

I wish there was a more apples to apples comparison than this…. would really like to see an overall perspective. One meme I should have somewhere stated that in 1979 a man could get a job paying $45K a year with no problem today it's 20K a year
