Im kind of tired of the Rothschild Sold APACHE spam. They sold 3500 shares out of 10000 they owned. The value of the sale was $120,000.00. connected names but very little meat on that bone.

UK supreme Court, but still its HUGE. Wikileaks drops being admissible in court give them 10x the power regular disclosure provides. Prosecutors in the UK will no longer need to create parallel construction to bring charges.

This has massive implications for UK subjects involved in the Panama Paper drops.

There are multiple steps. Assets first get "Frozen". Once assets are frozen, due process happens. The government cannot seize an asset until a court has given it permission. There are rules for how assets are disposed of based on the type of asset. Securities are generally sold off subject to prudent market conditions. Tangible property is auctioned at public sale. If there are unusual circumstances involved the court can approve any disposition plan brought before it. Proceeds from the sale are deposited in accounts owned by the Treasury if its a federal case.(It used to be the investigating agency kept the funds and this led to all kinds of abuse where DEA or FBI would target wealthy individuals for the purpose of shoring up their budgets).

There was a case in the early 90s in Iowa where the DEA went after a wealthy individual in a massive CCE rico case alleging he was basically walter white. The case involved a judge who was the father in law of the AUSA prosecuting the case. They indicted this guy, his 75 year old parents(one of whom died before he could stand trial). Joe diGenova of all people discovered the existence of a secret memo issued by the DC DEA instructing the Iowa field office to pursue "creative test cases to force settlements against high net worth individuals to satisfy budget shortfalls". The case went to a Jury and he was acquitted on 50+ charges after 2 hours of deliberation.

If the asset is outside of the US maybe they would do something different, but if its a security held by an american custodian institution, it sits where it sits until due process happens. No access to the funds without the court giving permission. They will give you permission to use frozen assets to pay for legal defense and basic maintenance. You can use the money to pay your mortgage(the house is probably frozen too).
