The font change is probably just stretching. The line below it is a little squashed if you take a close look. Probably an artifact of scanning/faxing.
However using that obvious blemish to distract from the content of the letter is exactly what the left would do. I would say it's dishonorable except we know the accusations are garbage so give them a taste of their own medicine, i say. Take advantage of every weakness.
