Short version: Cars form 2012 onward are designed to handle it. Older cars, not so much. But I imagine we'll still be able to choose non ethanol fuel right? Also it could potentially be exported. For instance, Canada's imports have climbed from over 500,000 barrels per month this past February, to almost 900,000 barrels in

Ethanol is fucked up for a lot of reasons. But you have to weigh that against what the stakes are here: we're in a trade war with China and they're targeting the corn belt in an attempt to impact the midterms. If we lose the house OUR fucking engine is going to be gummed up with Democratic sludge and we'll nothing done outside executive orders. We'll also send the message to all of our rivals that that type economic targeting works. And our allies will see that we won't stick up for them. So, it's like, pick your poison.
