China's Red October

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, CCP, will commence on October 18, a little over six weeks from today. This will be the most important CCP meeting since the death of Mao Zedong and the rise of Deng Xiaoping in the late 1970s.

Communist societies such as China have a dual or parallel government structure. On one side is a normal government with a president, vice premier, cabinet ministers and other subordinate posts. On the other side is the CCP leadership consisting of a General Secretary, Politburo Standing Committee, Politburo, and Central Committee.

The seven-member Politburo Standing Committee runs the CCP. The General Secretary is the single most powerful person in the leadership. The conventional government is controlled by the CCP, which holds the real power

In recent decades, the General Secretary serves two five-year terms, and is then succeeded by another member of the Standing Committee. At the end of the first five-year term, the Standing Committee elevates one or two candidates who are most likely to succeed the General Secretary at the end of his second term.

The process is carried out in secrecy and decisions are arrived at by consensus. The process is designed to insure smooth transitions and to avoid the cult of the individual that surrounded Mao Zedong.

General Secretary Xi Jinping is trying to upend these traditions. He will certainly be reappointed to a second five-year term next month. But, the standing committee may not elevate likely successors, or may appoint a weak placeholder who will do Xiโ€™s bidding. This would pave the way for Xi to become the new โ€œbig manโ€ and the most powerful General Secretary since Mao Zedong.

worth digging on

Does Red October have to do with China and it's dollar/economy?

China is about to build a real 'Red October'

When The Hunt for Red October came out in 1984, and with it the invention of the techno-thriller genre (author Tom Clancy's claim to literary greatness), one of the stars was a modified Typhoon-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN). That novel, of course, was adapted to film in 1990.

The book and the film featured two different versions of the silent drive. The book used impellors, while the film used magneto-hydrodynamic propulsion. Now, something that is somewhat similar to the latter version of the Red October's silent drive could be a realityโ€ฆ thanks to the People's Liberation Army Navy.

According to a report by Popular Mechanics, the Chinese have tested a drive using a "permanent magnet motor" near Hainan Island. A release by the Chinese military noted that China was also experimenting with a "shaftless" pumpjet propulsion system.

Permanent magnet motors run much more quietly than conventional types currently in use on submarines. This is due to their "brushless" nature, which also means they can be smaller, taking up less volume on submarines (which are notoriously cramped) and increasing their reliability and also improving their endurance.

According to GlobalSecurity.org, China has a small number of nuclear submarines at present, roughly a half-dozen attack subs and four ballistic missile submarines. While greatly outnumbered by those of the United States, China is planning to build many more nuclear-powered subs by 2030, including versions more modern than the Shang and Jin classes that are their current state of the art.

The United States is not standing still. Reportedly, the new Columbia-class SSBNs will also be using a magnetic-drive technology. That said, it should be noted that in both the book and movie versions of Hunt for Red October, the United States Navy was able to track the titular submarine.

โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€“

I think I figured it out. China is the real threat. Obviously. It's their sub(or their cabal) not sure. Hunt for Red October was the hunt for the Chinese made submarine with magnetic motors. Hence the "silent rigging" Q post? Then we have the Russia Sub Threat. China owns a lot of people probably in our businesses and or politicians. Either through spying hence the "tech issue"

The whole damn thing is about China wanting Russia and America to fight and destroy each other. Just like everyone else. Either China was about to use some kind of sub attack on us. Blame it on Russia hence the media backing up and chirping that threat. IT'S ALL ABOUT CHINA BOYS! COMMIE BASTARDS!
