Medicinal marijuana needs to be legalized. I work in healthcare. None of those opioids are safe or non-addictive. None. But pharma makes bank and doesn’t want THC cutting into their bottom line. They can’t control it or market it, they make it illegal.

Docanon here. Agreed. When we went through our training, it was “pain is the fifth vital sign.” OxyContin for cancer patients and patients with severe radiculopathy and things like neurogenic claudication benefitted greatly from a slow release opioid that managed pain and doesn’t make them loopy. Methadone works really well in this regard, but patients don’t want it due to the injection and the stigma. As you said, Pharma got greedy, and people figured out chopping and snorting the stuff made the slow release quick. Demand went up and so did supply. Then addicts couldn’t get it legally and couldn’t afford it in the street, but learned heroin gives the same high for cheap. Voila!! Instant opiate crisis.
