RUSH: It’s funny to observe official Washington. You can do that by tuning into any Washington-based media. From day to day, you can see what the narrative, the top narratives are. The soap opera script of the day. It seems today that one of the overriding concerns among the Drive-Bys is the president’s relationship with Rod Rosenstein. The debate today centers on whether or not Rosenstein was kidding or not in a meeting with other FBI officials when he suggested wearing a wire the next time he went and talked to the president.

What’s compounding this or confusing to people is that Trump has not fired Rosenstein. In fact, he had Rosenstein up to the White House and then had him on Air Force One, flew him around and got off the airplane with him. He said they have a good working relationship. The president still will not declassify documents that Devin Nunes and a number of other people want declassified, which would answer a whole bunch of questions about the soft coup and who really started it and when and where and all of that.

When prescription drugs are involved, methadone and oxycontin are at the top of the list, and these drugs are notoriously acquired and used illegally.

Yes, there has been an upsurge in the prescription of opioids in the US over the past 20 to 30 years (though prescription rates are currently decreasing). This was a response to an underprescription crisis.

Severe and chronic pain were grossly undertreated for most of the 20th century. Even patients dying of cancer were left to writhe in pain until prescription policies began to ease in the 70s and 80s. The cause? An opioid scare campaign not much different from what’s happening today.

Certainly some doctors have been prescribing opioids too generously, and a few are motivated solely by profit. But that’s a tiny slice of the big picture. A close relative of mine is a family doctor in the US. He and his colleagues are generally scared (and angry) that they can be censured by licensing bodies for prescribing opioids to people who need them. And with all the fuss in the press right now, the pockets of overprescription are rapidly disappearing.

But the news media rarely bother to distinguish between the legitimate prescription of opioids for pain and the diverting (or stealing) of pain pills for illegal use.

Why not clarify that most of the abuse of prescription pain pills is not by those for whom they’re prescribed?

Wouldn’t it be sensible for the media to distinguish street drugs such as heroin from pain pills? We’re talking about radically different groups of users.

Virtually all experts agree that fentanyl and related drugs are driving the overdose epidemic. These are many times stronger than heroin and far cheaper, so drug dealers often use them to lace or replace heroin. Yet, because fentanyl is a manufactured pharmaceutical prescribed for severe pain, the media often describe it as a prescription painkiller

I’m so frustrated over the seemingly slow pace in draining the swamp and putting some criminals in jail that I could spit nails. Sooooo …. I had a sit-down with myself and tried to use some logic instead of emotion and here are my thoughts for what it's worth.

My primary question is “Why the delay in the declassify of Fisa and other documents and why no arrests?”

The outcry over the bad treatment of Justice Kavanaugh has the public riled up and has tipped the scale in the favor of Republican votes. Declass now would dilute this outcry and not produce the desired result. Everything that the declass will prove is already widely known and has been processed by voters. Constantly reminding voters of the positive economy and the mob mentality of the Dems seems like a better strategy.

A declass now would allow the fake news media to spin the release as the Republican attempt to cover up the Russian collusion crimes. Fake news would create a massive tsunami of lies which would confuse many who have not woke and cause them to stay home on election day or vote Dem.

By waiting until after midterms to roll out the declass and then the indictments we have a two year time frame to decimate the Cartel. Even if the Dems win mid term we have enough ammo in the system to turn the tide. Remember also that many of the sitting Pols will get the noose! If we win the mid-term (which I believe we will) then ‘Kati bar the door’, heads will roll like bowling balls and the Second American Revolution will be won by the Patriots.

As it stands right now the POTUS has tipped the Supreme Court in our direction and has managed to get a lot of other honest judges appointed to other positions. The process of Senate approval of nominees has been slow but is moving along. If sealed indictments are opened now, many of the bad guys would face justice, however, many more of them would be tried in corrupt courts. By waiting until after mid-term elections we will be no worse off even if Dems win and if we win we will be way better off.
