I just had the pleasure of chatting with a former and future resident of San Diego, California. This gentleman is currently residing in Iowa taking care of his mother in law for a couple years.
If you remember my comments from last night, this gentleman lives next door to the Witch House that I am trashing out and I went over to inform him that he had witches for neighbors for some time. His wife had told me that the city had gone through and found bats/mice/dead cats and all kinds of crap.
We had a pleasant conversation, for the record I am quite conservative and I do like Trump. This fellow did NOT like Trump at all. He called Trump a bigot, a liar, and a sleaze. I admitted that at times in Trump's life those could all appear to be true. He said that the smugglers were digging tunnels under the border that were 20 miles long, from Tijuana to San Diego and that the border wall was worthless and pointless.
He repeatedly told me that the Guatemalans and the Hondurans are all coming because they live in poverty and he knows a good number of them, and that most of them are good people just trying to get a better life in the United States. I gave him a quick rundown of globalism and indicated that the globalists are causing issues in their home countries, forcing them to emigrate.
I got the general impression that he felt that there was nothing that could be done about the illegals and that the United States should just roll over and take all of these people in.
He indicated that he had friends who lived on a ranch outside of San Deigo that he takes care of on a regular basis and that it was common to see illegals walking through the ranch. He also said that he sleeps with a shotgun by the bed and other guns in the house.
I told him that I liked Trump's tax cuts. I got the indication that he could care less about the tax cuts and that they didn't help him any.
All in all it was an interesting conversation with a Democrat and an insight into how they think.
