Newly-declassified documents show the CIA intercepted sensitive Congressional communications about intelligence community whistleblowers. The intercepts occurred under CIA Director John Brennan and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. The new disclosures are contained in two letters of “Congressional notification” originally written to key members of Congress in March 2014, but kept secret until now.

In the letters, then-Intelligence Community Inspector General Charles McCullough tells four key members of Congress that during “routing counterintelligence monitoring of Government computer systems,” the CIA collected emails between Congressional staff and the CIA’s head of whistleblowing and source protection. McCullough states that he’s concerned “about the potential compromise to whistleblower confidentiality and the consequent ‘chilling effect’ that the present [counterintelligence] monitoring system might have on Intelligence Community whistleblowing.”

The idea that the CIA would monitor communications of U.S. government officials, including those in the legislative branch, is itself controversial. But in this case, the CIA picked up some of the most sensitive emails between Congress and intelligence agency workers blowing the whistle on alleged wrongdoing.

When not calling Trump supporters “Nazis” as a means to dehumanize us, the establishment media like to whine about the lack of civility in American politics, even as they cover up, ignore, downplay, or straight-up approve of the wave of violence and public harassment we are seeing against supporters of President Trump.

It is open season on Trump supporters, and the media is only fomenting, encouraging, excusing, and hoping for more… The media are now openly calling Trump supporters “Nazis” and are blaming Trump for a mass murder he had nothing to do with. This, of course, is a form of harassment because it incites and justifies mob violence.

Here is the list, so far, and remember that if any one of these things happened to a Democrat, the media would use the story to blot out the sun for weeks. Remember how crazy the media went over a nobody rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask, a GOP staffer who criticized Obama’s daughters? And yet, hundreds of Trump supporters are harassed and brutalized and the media only dutifully report them, if at all. That is because the media are desperate to normalize and justify violence and harassment against Trump and his supporters.

And while the media openly encourage this violence against us, the media also campaign to disarm us, to take away our Second Amendment right to defend ourselves.

FDA Approves New Potent Battlefield-Suitable Opioid Despite Drug Epidemic

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday approved a powerful new opioid to use in care settings despite criticism from one of its own advisers.

FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb issued a special statement on the approval of the new drug, Dsuvia, noting that its use will be strictly controlled and that the agency understands the controversy behind its decision, the Washington Post reported.

“It fills a specific and important, but limited, unmet medical need in treating our nation’s soldiers on the battlefield,” Gottlieb said, noting that the drug will be sold in the form of a 30-microgram tablet designed to be put under the tongue, making it more suitable for battlefield situations where people cannot easily inject a drug.

Gottlieb also noted that the drug will only be authorized for use by professionals in healthcare settings and possibly on battlefields, so patients will not be able to get it at a pharmacy and take it home. Dsuvia is reportedly 10 times more powerful than fentanyl and 1,000 times more powerful than morphine. It was developed by manufacturer AcelRx in cooperation with the Pentagon, which spent millions of dollars on the project.

Public Citizen, a consumer rights advocacy group, objected to Dsuvia’s approval, as did Raeford Brown, the chairman of the FDA advisory committee, who wasn’t present during the vote regarding the drug.

“It is certain that Dsuvia will worsen the opioid epidemic and kill people needlessly. It will be taken by medical personnel and others for whom it has not been prescribed. And many of those will overdose and die,” Sidney Wolfe, the founder of Public Citizen’s Health Research Group, said in a statement.

Gottlieb, however, said the FDA would do more to balance efforts to fight the epidemic with the needs of people who need strong painkillers.

“We need to address the question that I believe underlies the criticism raised in advance of this approval. To what extent should we evaluate each opioid solely on its own merits, and to what extent should we also consider … the epidemic of opioid misuse and abuse that’s gripping our nation?” Gottlieb wrote in his statement.

The US is facing what has been called the worst drug crisis in the country’s history, with overdoses killing a record 72,000 users in 2017, according to preliminary data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As in 2016, which had a death toll of approximately 64,000, the 2017 US death toll from drug use was higher than all US military casualties in the Vietnam and Iraq wars combined.

Trump stuns reporter with reply to her very pointed question – here’s what he said

President Donald Trump didn’t take kindly to a question from a reporter about political violence Friday and he threw it right back in her face with his fiery response.

“You are creating — you!”

ABC News correspondent Karen Travers asked the president to comment on a poll that said many Americans blamed his rhetoric for inspiring political violence.

“Some Americans say you are encouraging politically motivated violence with the way you speak,” she said.

“No, no, you know what? You’re creating violence by your questions,” he responded.

“Me?” she said, stunned.

“You are creating — you!” he said, pointing directly at her.

“Also a lot of the reporters are creating violence by not writing the truth,” he explained. “The fake news is creating violence.”

“And you know what?” he continued. “The people that support Trump, and the people that support us which is a lot of people, most people, many people, most people know when a story is true and they know when a story is false.”

“And I’ll tell you what,” Trump said, “if the media would write correctly and write accurately and write fairly you’d have a lot less violence in the country.”

“The president is not placing blame”

Travers responded to the altercation later with a tweet from her social media account.

“Reminder that earlier this week, Sarah Sanders said ‘The president is not placing blame,'” she tweeted.

“Today he points a finger at me and says, ‘You’re creating violence by your question. You are creating – you.'” she added.

The Film The Israel Lobby Doesn't Want You To See

Today The Electronic Intifada published the first two parts of "The Lobby – USA", a four-part undercover investigation by Al Jazeera into Israel’s covert influence campaigns in the United States.

The planned broadcast of the film was prevented by Qatar, which owns Al Jazeera, on behalf of Israel.

It is amazing that Israel gets away with such spying and intelligence operations against U.S. citizens and within the United States.

Israel and its lobby did a lot to suppress the movie and its wider distribution. That can only mean that it is good and deserves a large viewership.
