Al-Jaafari: Constitution sovereign issue, foreign interference rejected

All Foreign Troops Except Russian Military Must Leave Syria - US Envoy

Earlier, the envoy claimed that US troops would be staying in the Arab Republic until the "enduring defeat" of Daesh*. He also said that Bashar Assad should not govern the country in the future, noting, however, that it's not the US' job to oust him. Apple's iOS Boots Tumblr from App Store over Child Pornography

Apple has booted the notorious left-leaning social media titan Tumblr from their iOS app store over allegations swirling around child pornography, according to CNET.

The application’s disappearance has sent shockwaves across the industry, where it appears that child porn slipped past the company's filters and algorithms to make itself readily available for distribution and download.

A Tumblr spokesperson released the following statement:

"We're committed to helping build a safe online environment for all users, and we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to media featuring child sexual exploitation and abuse. As this is an industry-wide problem, we work collaboratively with our industry peers and partners like [the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children] (NCMEC) to actively monitor content uploaded to the platform. Every image uploaded to Tumblr is scanned against an industry database of known child sexual abuse material, and images that are detected never reach the platform.”

”A routine audit discovered content on our platform that had not yet been included in the industry database. We immediately removed this content. Content safeguards are a challenging aspect of operating scaled platforms. We're continuously assessing further steps we can take to improve and there is no higher priority for our team.”

Child pornographic content found on any major social media website tends to involve coordination with federal law enforcement agencies, explaining the lack of explanation as per Tumblr’s removal.

At The Goldwater, we've focused heavily on reporting surrounding the arrests of pedophiles or in relation to child pornography, and have reported several cases where a suspect was engaged in sharing child pornography via the Tumblr platform.

As of this time, Tumblr has yet to address when they'll be available for download again via the Apple store.

Saudi-led Forces Resume Attacks on Yemeni Port of Hodeidah

As Houthis express openness to truce, Saudi warplanes pound city

Saudi Arabia’s ceasefire in the vital Yemeni aid port of Hodeidah has come to an end after a brief lull in fighting. Now, Saudi warplanes are again pounding the city, and Saudi-backed forces are again carrying out offensives in the suburbs.

It had previously been assumed, though not outright said, that the ceasefire was going to last up to the peace talks, expected at some point in December. The timing is particularly bad, as it comes just a day after Yemen’s Houthis backed a ceasefire, and announced a halt toward firing missiles or using drones.

It is unclear why the new offensive was announced at this point, though it comes just a day after Saudi-backed forces carried out an offensive against northwestern Yemen, another Houthi-held area.

The new offensives aren’t a good sign for the upcoming peace talks, though they may also represent an attempt to secure some last-minute gains before coming to the negotiating table. Either way, renewed Saudi airstrikes in Hodeidah is doubtless to mean another upswing in civilian casualties.

Kremlin blasts US senators for meddling in Interpol election

SOCHI, November 20. /TASS/. A letter from some US senators who seek to block the Russian candidate Alexander Prokopchuk from being elected as Interpol chief is an obvious example of exerting undue pressure and election meddling, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, this move by US lawmakers can certainly be regarded as undue pressure.

"This is probably some kind of meddling in the electoral process, in elections to an international organization. How else can that be seen? Here, this is a clear manifestation (of meddling)," he noted.

"Nevertheless, the elections will take place, so let’s wait for the results," Peskov concluded.

Interpol election and senators’ letter

On Monday, a group of US senators from both parties made public an open letter to US President Donald Trump, asking him to influence members of the Interpol General Assembly in order to prevent Russian national Alexander Prokopchuk from becoming the new Interpol head.

In August, US senators put forward an initiative to limit Russia’s right to use the mechanism of Interpol’s so-called Red Notices (putting individuals on an international wanted list), accusing Russia of taking advantage of that opportunity. The senators asserted at that time that the individuals wanted by Interpol at Russia’s request should not be restricted from entering the US and should not be denied political asylum.

Former Interpol chief, Meng Hongwei, resigned in October after being detained in China on suspicion of corruption. Moscow hopes that Russian candidate Alexander Prokopchuk will win the elections scheduled to be held on Wednesday, November 21. He served as the head of Interpol’s National Central Bureau at the Russian Interior Ministry since 2006 and the Vice President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) since 2016.

Judicial Watch Uncovers Email Revealing Top Pentagon Leader Ordered Destruction of bin Laden Death Photos

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that on January 31, 2014, it received documents from the Department of Defense (Pentagon) revealing that within hours of its filing a May 13, 2011, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking photos of the deceased Osama bin Laden, U.S. Special Operations Commander, Admiral William McRaven ordered his subordinates to “destroy” any photos they may have had “immediately.” Judicial Watch had filed a FOIA request for the photos 11 days earlier.

The McRaven email, addressed to “Gentlemen,” instructs:

One particular item that I want to emphasize is photos; particularly UBLs remains. At this point – all photos should have been turned over to the CIA; if you still have them destroy them immediately or get them to the [redacted].

According to the Pentagon documents, McRaven sent his email on “Friday, May 13, 2011 5:09 PM.” The documents do not detail what documents, if any, were destroyed in response to the McRaven directive. The Judicial Watch FOIA lawsuit seeking the documents was filed in the United States Court for the District of Columbia only hours earlier. Judicial Watch also announced the filing at a morning press conference.

On May 2, Judicial Watch had filed a FOIA request with the Defense Department seeking “all photographs and/or video recordings of Usama (Osama) Bin Laden taken during and/or after the U.S. military operation in Pakistan on or about May 1, 2011.” Federal law contains broad prohibitions against the “concealment, removal, or mutilation generally” of government records.

Twitter co-founder ‘sorry’ if social media site helped elect Donald Trump, decries online free speech

In an interview with the New York Times, Twitter co-founder Evan Williams apologized if the site he helped create played a role in electing Donald Trump to the White House, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.

“It’s a very bad thing, Twitter’s role in that,” he said. “If it’s true that he wouldn’t be president if it weren’t for Twitter, then yeah, I’m sorry.”

“The president has credited Twitter with his election to the highest office in the land,” the Associated Press said.

The AP added:

The 45-year-old Silicon Valley entrepreneur also said the internet is obviously broken because it rewards extremes.

Williams also says he was wrong thinking that the world would be a better place if there was a platform for everyone to freely speak and exchange ideas.

Translation: Free political speech is doubleplus ungood and must be curtailed, the First Amendment be damned.

Trump’s use of Twitter has long been the source of criticism, especially now as he holds the highest office in the country. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that Trump’s aides recently held a social media intervention with the president due to concerns his tweets could have political and legal ramifications.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment on Williams’ remarks, according to the Times.

But, Newsmax said, Trump’s tweets have “often become major news stories of their own, and allow him to present his opinions without having to rely on the media, with whom he has a contentious relationship.”

That’s putting it mildly. The so-called “mainstream media,” known here as the Democrat-media complex, has embarked on a jihad of sorts in an effort to foment hate and drive the president from the White House, in many cases pushing fake or distorted “news” based on anonymous sources and innuendo.

According to the Washington Examiner, a Harvard study revealed that 93 percent of the coverage provided by CNN and NBC has been negative toward the president.
