I thought the same thing I've come up with two possibilities:
It wasn't the Saudi's in power that did it
The Saudi's in power did it and just sent a message to the world, they'll get you in the end and NO ONE (country) will do a damn thing about it.
Sanctions are biting Iran. They can't afford the war anymore, so quit while the quiting is good.
Something is not right with that statement. The two don't go hand in hand… I mean they're even backing off of Trumps statements and changing laws to allow it. Weird.
