Ukrainian martial law declaration may be preparation for war with Russia

Imposition of martial law is likely part of the plan, as Ukraine has been increasingly provocative on several fronts recently.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is imposing martial law after his country’s ships faced off with Russian ships near Crimea. The Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovnaya Rada, has at this time not yet signed off on this order, but they are expected to do so.

The martial law status will be in effect from November 26 to January 26, about sixty days.

This happened because Ukrainian ships ventured deliberately into Russian territorial waters near the Crimean Peninsula, apparently not notifying Russian authorities before doing so, though the Ukrainians claim they did warn of their crossing.

RT chronicled the events from the Russian point of view, which we provide here with emphases added:

The waters near the Crimean peninsula were the site of a tense standoff between Russian and Ukrainian ships that involved a chase, some gunfire, and fighter jets, followed by strong statements from Moscow and Kiev.

The Ukranian vessels were sailing between two Ukrainian ports: from Odessa in the Black Sea to Mariupol in the Azov Sea. The only waterway that connects these is the Kerch Strait between Crimea and mainland Russia. Kiev says it notified Moscow in advance that its navy ships would be sailing through the area. Moscow denies that it was given warning.

While both Russia and Ukraine have freedom of navigation in the Kerch Strait under a 2003 treaty, there are detailed technical rules on how vessels should pass through the narrow, complex waterway. All traffic in the area is controlled by the Crimean sea port of Kerch, and every ship should contact the facility, report her route and destination, and receive permission to sail through the Strait.

At around 7am Moscow time (4am GMT) on Sunday, two artillery boats and a tugboat belonging to the Ukrainian Navy crossed the Russian maritime border in the Black Sea and headed to the Kerch Strait.

These ships had not followed the procedure, said the Russian Federal Security Service responsible for maintaining order at the border.

POTUS Donald Trump did two things last week that were vitally important for the safety and security of our country, as well as supportive of the rule of law.

He gave U.S. military forces deployed along the border with Mexico permission to use lethal force in support of Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection agents attempting to keep thousands of migrants from crossing illegally into the country. And he said he would have no problem shutting down the entire U.S. border with Mexico if it meant protecting the integrity of our boundaries.

“We, as a country, either have borders or we don’t. IF WE DON’T HAVE BORDERS, WE DON’T HAVE A COUNTRY!” he tweeted.

Is the president overreacting? Is this just him being a “bigot” and a “racist?” Hardly.

Developments over the weekend indicate that a growing number of mostly male, military-age migrants — who already number in the thousands with more arriving near the border all the time — plan to rush the border at various points in an attempt to overwhelm U.S. security and military forces.

This comes on the heels of an agreement reached between the U.S. and the incoming Mexican government under Andrés Manuel López Obrador to keep migrant asylum seekers in Mexico for the time being.

As noted by The Epoch Times, more than 5,100 mostly Honduran migrants are currently crowded into a migrant camp in Tijuana, Mexico, near the U.S. border in southern California. The news organization even posted a video of migrants in the camp who were lining up for food:

“The line for food just outside the camp confines. Free meals are served at 10am and 5pm. There are 5,150 migrants now at the camp in Tijuana,” the news site tweeted.

Luke Rosiak, an investigative reporter for The Daily Caller, made the observation on Twitter that women and children are suspiciously missing from photos and videos taken at the camp.

Mother Jones exclusively obtained the video of the SS agents questioning Tom Arnold for an hour in his home on October 25th to determine if he posed a threat to President Trump.

Secret Service agents warned Tom Arnold his threatening tweets to the President can incite violence.

The agents asserted that Arnold had not been singled out. “We go out on any and all tweets and Facebook posts or any type of threat,” one said. “We don’t just focus on—it doesn’t matter if you have 100 followers on Facebook or 500,000 followers…We have to do our due diligence.” The two men had a list of routine queries for the actor: his height, his weight, his Social Security number.

They asked whether he had ever been trained in martial arts. (No.) Did he have any intention of attending a Trump rally? (No.) Not even as a publicity stunt? (No.) Did he have any plans to fly to Washington to try to confront Trump? (No.) How does he typically behave when he gets angry in the workplace? (You put it into the performance.) When was the last time he fired a gun? (“I fired for movies.”) Did he know how to make IEDs? As TGP reported in October, Tom Arnold issued a thinly veiled threat to President Trump in a series of tweets.

Tom Arnold got triggered over president Trump’s comment at a Montana rally wherein he made a joke about Rep. Gianforte body slamming a liberal journalist.

First, Tom Arnold challenged President Trump to a fight at “any rally” between now and the midterms.

Tom Arnold said, “I’m pretty fat myself, but yeah I’d kick his ass buddy” in response to a Twitter user who said “Tom, he out weighs you by about 300 lbs, but i would still bet on you.”

Tom Arnold then took his rhetoric and threats to the next level when he responded to a Twitter user who said Kathy Griffin should officiate the fight between him and Trump.

“Next time Kathy won’t be holding his fake head!” Tom Arnold said referring to Kathy Griffin’s Trump beheading photoshoot.

Twitter never took action against Tom Arnold, but the Secret Service did!

Theresa May Accused of “Major Cover-up” Over Brexit Donor

Theresa May is under increasing pressure to clarify reports that she blocked an investigation into Brexit bankroller Arron Banks in the run-up to the 2016 referendum after the Home Office refused to reveal information about the controversial Leave.EU and UKIP donor.

In an “extraordinary” response to a freedom of information request from openDemocracy, the Home Office refused to confirm or deny whether it holds any material from 2016 about Leave.EU and Banks. The department said that doing so “would impede the future formulation of government policy”.

Opposition MPs have accused the Home Office of a “major cover-up” and called on the government to “ditch the obfuscation” and “come clean”, amid media reports that May, as home secretary, blocked a proposed probe into Banks ahead of the Brexit vote.

In a letter seen by openDemocracy, Liberal Democrat MP Tom Brake has called on the prime minister to “clarify whether you were aware of any concerns regarding Arron Banks’s finances and alleged relationships with foreign states”. Agence France-Presse quoted the OPCW director-general, Fernando Arias, as saying that The OPCW Secretariat has been monitoring the situation. The FSB reported that the three ships from the Ukrainian Navy, Berdyansk, Nikopol and Yany Kapu, had been detained after violating the Russian state border.

Three ships from the Ukrainian Navy, in violation of Articles 19 and 21 of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, crossed the Russian maritime border on 25 November, entered the temporarily closed area of the country's territorial waters, and were moving from the Black Sea toward the Kerch Strait, according to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
