Two Marine aviators involved in a sky penis drawing over the skies of California in October have been disciplined but will be allowed to continue flying, according to Marine officials.

Details of the punishment were not available due to the administrative nature of the discipline.

In October, the Marine pilots with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, or MAW, based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, flew a flight pattern in their T-34C that resembled a penis.

The flight pattern was picked up by radar and shared by the Twitter account Aircraft Spots.

The pilots were temporarily grounded pending an investigation.

"Two Marine Corps aviators were administratively disciplined following the completion of an investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding an October 23 irregular flight pattern that resulted in an obscene image,” Maj. Josef Patterson, a spokesman with 3rd MAW, told Marine Corps Times.

Patterson said the pilots retained their wings and will continue to serve with 3rd MAW.

The punishment was similar to two Navy lieutenants who drew a sky penis in their EA-18G Growler over the skies of Washington state last year.

Those pilots also received administrative punishments.
