Poland Rises Up Against EU's Copyright Censorship Plan Dubbed 'ACTA2'

The people of Poland are on the front lines of preventing the forced collective suicide of Europe, not only on immigration but also on copyright censorship.

Six years ago, Polish activists flooded the streets to oppose ACTA, an incredibly damaging, secretly negotiated Internet treaty hatched in the US to push both America and its European trading partners well beyond anything that could be democratically arrived at.

Six years later, as the EU fumbles its way to an even more extreme Internet censorship proposal through the new Copyright in the Single Market Directive, the spark of rebellion is being rekindled in Poland, where the Directive is being referred to as "ACTA2."

Leader of Boston-Based Drug Trafficking Organization Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison

BOSTON – The leader of a Boston-based heroin and fentanyl trafficking organization was sentenced yesterday in federal court in Boston.

Jose Antonio Lugo-Guerrero, a/k/a Fernando Rivera-Rodriguez, 40, a Dominican national formerly residing in Mattapan, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani to 16 years in prison and five years of supervised release. Lugo-Guerrero will be subject to deportation proceedings upon completion of his sentence.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, New York State Senator Jose Peralta, 47, died tragically and suddenly of what is being called ‘septic shock’.

This New York Post article interviewed Peralta’s wife Evelyn who offered a few details:

“All they said is that he was septic,” Evelyn Peralta said Friday afternoon, after meeting officials with the city Medical Examiner’s office. “And that led to organ failure,” she said of her 47-year-old husband, the state Senate’s first Dominican-American member.

“They need to do additional tests,” she said. “There is no final conclusion yet. They don’t know” what caused the fatal blood infection, she said. “His body was poisoning itself.”

She added, tearfully, “I just came back from viewing the body. The doctor said it’s rare, [given] his age and that it happened so quick … he was healthy. He was a healthy guy.”

The New York Post article mentions nothing about a flu shot that Peralta had taken two weeks earlier.

Our Ignorance of Socialism Is Dangerous

A recent Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation survey found that 51 percent of American millennials would rather live in a socialist or communist country than in a capitalist country. Only 42 percent prefer the latter.

Twenty-five percent of millennials who know who Vladimir Lenin was view him favorably. Lenin was the first premier of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Half of millennials have never heard of communist Mao Zedong, who ruled China from 1949 to 1959 and was responsible for the deaths of 45 million Chinese people.

The number of people who died at the hands of Josef Stalin may be as high as 62 million. However, almost one-third of millennials think former President George W. Bush is responsible for more killings than Stalin.

By the way, Adolf Hitler, head of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, was responsible for the deaths of about 20 million people. The Nazis come in as a poor third in terms of history’s most prolific mass murderers. According to professor Rudolph Rummel’s research, the 20th century, mankind’s most brutal century, saw 262 million people’s lives destroyed at the hands of their own governments.
