Does ANYONE who wasn't hauled under threat of an butt-whooping by their mama to church every single Sunday of their youth know the Apostle's Creed by heart?
Presbyterian & southern here. It's burnt into my brain like the Pledge of Allegiance.
Not everybody grew up like that.
The word "catholic" in the Apostle's Creed is spelled with a lower case "c"
It does not mean Pope/Vatican/Rome/Catholic.
It means:
"The word “catholic” means “relating to the church universal” and was the word used in the original version of the Creed. It does not mean the Roman Catholic Church, but the church, the body of Christ, as a universal fellowship."
