yes exactly this
there's a fungus, lives in the white blood cells, mimics all the autoimmune conditons and is itself "autoimmune" because the body attacks the infected cells. the fungus uses horizontal gene transfer to steal strategy DNA from other organisms (incl. bacteria). use of antibiotics wipes out the beneficial gut bacteria and the fungus gets established. glyphosate residues also have this effect.
