This has been my response to people who find POTUS abrasive. "If I have a choice between a person who speaks nicely, yet lies to me and a person who speaks gruffly yet tells it like it is, I will choose the one I know who tells it straight, even if I don't necessarily agree because at least you have a starting point for discussion. 90% agree with that assessment.
