It looks like Reid and Brennan worked together to shape the narrative that would be fed to the FBI and leaked to the public very early on in the game.

Below is a link to a Washington Times article about the early Brennan/Reid communications on the dossier. As you read it please keep in mind these are spy games. The article is a framing of the framing designed to present facts in a very particular way - that Reid was "doing his duty" and leaking against Brennan's wishes. If you expand your thinking you see that is not exactly what occurred. What you see is Brennan had an early secret phone call with Reid; Reid drafted a letter to the FBI; Reid conducted a meeting with Senate Intelligence Committee with Brennan in attendance; Reid leaked the letter to the public - all before the dossier was given to buzzfeed.

So I have big questions. Why does the intelligence community have the need for a big enemy and why particularly Russia? Did they know ahead of time that Trump would not play ball? Why does China never play a role in these narrative spy games?

That is the simple answer and partly true. But I've been looking at the spy games with the intelligence community manipulation of the public for a lot of years. This is more than simple corruption. This is a big game that spans many decades and involves the shadow government and the military industrial complex. Greed is just another tool in the tool box of manipulation.
