China Starts "Debt Shaming": New App Warns Users If They Are Walking Near Someone In Debt

Authorities in the northern Chinese province of Hebei have rolled out an app over WeChat which can tell people if they're walking near someone in debt, according to China Daily.

The program, aptly named "map of deadbeat debtors," flashes a warning if someone in debt is within a 500-meter radius - showing their exact location according to a screenshot of the app.

Whether the app reveals the debtors' names or photos is unknown, nor does China Daily mention how much money is owed or to whom - but according to paper the app allows people to "whistle-blow on debtors capable of paying their debts."

"It's a part of our measures to enforce our rulings and create a socially credible environment," said a spokesman for the Higher People's Court of Hebei - which is behind the app.

The "map of deadbeat debtors" is yet the latest in China's push towards a shame-based "social credit score" system which has already been deployed in several parts of the country. According to a November report, Beijing has an ambitious plan to control China's citizens through a system of social scoring that punishes behavior it does not approve.

China's Military Cuts Ground Force By Half In Major "Transformation" To Boost Navy, Air Force

China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has announced major changes aimed to transform itself into a modern fighting force taking its focus away from land-based fighting which has defined much of the 20th century since WWII whiling boosting its navy, air force and new strategic units focused on emerging hi-tech threats such as cyberwarfare.

A new report this week in the official Xinhua News Agency has touted the military's "transformational changes" which has seen its infantry and ground operations branch outpaced by the others as part of what's described as a "strategic shift designed to transform the People’s Liberation Army into a comprehensive modern force." The shift is so significant that it's seen the navy, air force, rocket force and a "strategic support force" (responsible for areas like cyberwarefare) climb to over the 50% of total PLA troops, further leaving the total number of officers in the PLA reduced by 30% (as traditionally large ground forces require more officers for those units).

A Desperate Man : Michael Cohen

Don't be distracted by the gossip and tittle-tattle being spread about Michael Cohen. Forget taxi medallions and porn stars. They're meant to distract. As REX explains, the true DOJ investigations are likely focussed on Cohen's connections to illegal lobbying by Clinton proxies, on behalf of Ukraine.

Keep those names Yanukovych, Vekselberg and Poroshenko in mind, by the way. All were HUGE backers of The Clinton Foundation, which took the majority of its donations from Ukraine. And here's another fact that the mainstream media fail to mention: Cohen's connections to the Democratic Party and in particular, the Clintons.

So is this the likely reason Cohen is going down?

For the shill's on this board … looks like Sam (a brilliant off the charts IQ) genius just nailed your pathology. Very serious and it doesn't look good for a long life expectancy.

See for yourself.

Baker … I think we need to clock them for their own safety.

Not necessary to leap. Many people experience it in this life. I find it interesting no two reason's for catapulting them into experiencing it are alike.
