You realize all of the symbols used to decorate the I215 overpasses etc. around Vegas are taken from Anasazi petroglyphs in the southern Nevada area, don’t you?
The appropriation of local symbols for the decoration of new infrastructure and landmarks was to provide visible and lasting historical and cultural markers to Las Vegas, a city that previously lacked any authentic connection with the landscape it occupies or any former human residents of the area.
I was present around 20 years ago when some of these matters were discussed and decisions taken. If someone wants to argue that the symbols were selected for other reasons, that’s their prerogative; but the burden of proof is on them.
There are countless symbols decorating overpasses etc. around I215 and they all have precedent in Anasazi petroglyphs hundreds to a thousand+ years old and found within a c20 mile radius of the Strip.
Was the highway design program, and the plethora of symbols used in it, merely cover for the use of one particular symbol, part of the authentic set but now discovered also to be meaningful to pedophiles?
Make the case, if you can.
