Finnish police ordered not to speak of asylum seeker crime

Häme Police Department personnel received internal communications instructions on police information related to the current situation of asylum seekers.

The six-page guidance signed by the Police Chief and the Communications Officer of the Department has raised a lively discussion among staff in the facility. Many experienced police consider it exceptional.

Discussion has been raised by a daily police newsletter that [police should] “not mention the status of the suspect as an asylum seeker when reporting offenses”.

New regulations are also justified in the Communication Guidelines. Communication aims to promote security and social peace.

Communication also aims to strengthen trust in police activities and to prevent radicalisation and racist phenomena.

The instruction reminds the police not to take sides. Asylum seekers should be treated neutrally, impartially and objectively.

The guidelines have also been extended to private, free-time discussions:

“Police officers must, in accordance with their role, duties and behavioral responsibilities, treat asylum seekers in a neutral manner also in their personal leisure activities.”

The guidelines also cover the risks associated with the current situation: radicalisation of the population or asylum seekers, the spread of racism and the erosion of public order and security.….

The memorandum estimates that “the registration of asylum seekers, asylum investigation and, subsequently, possible reversals, will involve the police more than usual for at least the next two years”.

Plan A – Illegal Spying

They learn to manipulate the NSA database. Query the system, you can get a lot of info. Thru unmasking—wiretapping—they can get all the info they need on the Trump team. Problem: Mike Rogers, head of the NSA, sniffs them out. Rogers goes to FISC and tells them, “We got a problem.” Read it, especially p. 80, which tells us the NSA was being queried by private contractors. Rogers smell a rat; people panic in the govt. About 10 days after the election, Rogers—who knew this had been going on all along—goes to Trump Tower (time enough for a SCIF to be set up).

The next day, Trump leaves Trump Tower and goes to Bedminster, never to return. Same time: Obama admin calls for Rogers to be fired. “Could you be any more obvious?” Suddenly, people start resigning from the federal government; also, Bob Hannigan, head of the GCHQ (the British NSA). Why? Because American intel community is not only listening in to hurt the Trump team during the campaign but they’re working with British and Australian intel to pass info to the Obama admin. There’s more to Plan A, but there’s no time, so it’s onto…..

Plan B – Legal Spying

They say, “well, if we can’t spy on them [Trump team] illegally, let’s spy on them legally.” We have this FISA Court, and we can walk in and get a warrant, and once you get it, they have this “two hop” approach that says, If I can get something on somebody on the Trump team, I can investigate all of them. Beautiful, right? But they were stupid and screwed up. Problem with FISA Court: they needed actual evidence that Trump team in front of a judge, that Trump was working on behalf of a foreign power but doing it in violation of at least one US law. “Folks, they had NOTHING—ZERO!”

So what does the State Dept do? They just make it up! They had this guy they worked with in the past, Christopher Steele. Hey, anybody read the Dossier? No? Don’t worry. It was already written on April 17, 2007. NOT 2017. Who wrote it? Glenn Simpson and Mary Jacoby his wife: WSJ “How Lobbyists Help Ex-Soviets Woo Washington.” It’s the same story, written 11 years ago!! Read the names in the article—Paul Manafort and all of these players! So probably, after Plan A collapsed, HRC went to Simpson, who scratched out the names and put in Donald Trump’s name in there. The Dossier is this recycled article. It’s a scam.

To buttress Plan B, tried to connect Michael Cohen, Trump’s lawyer, with the Russians by saying he went to Prague to set up something with the Russians. Probably got the name from the NSA database. But they got the wrong Michael Cohen! (He’s never been to Prague, his passport proves it). Then: Donald Trump wins the presidency—and Plan B falls apart!

Plan C – “Clean Up on Aisle 4”

DJT win wasn’t expected. Big problem and they know it. Right before the election, Brennan met with Bob Hannigan (British intel); right after election, he quits. Ditto for John Carlin, the head of the DOJ Natl Security Division (authorizes FISA warrants) . John Carlin previously worked before the DOJ under Robert Mueller (Carlin was his Chief of Staff)! People start panicking. Now there’s a huge paper trail to clean up. Mueller’s job: to keep the heat on Trump, impeach him, because otherwise they’re done.

Why Mueller? Because he knows every player, via Enron case when M was FBI director, people like Andy Weisman role who hates DJT. M also knows Kathryn Ruemmler from Enron, Obama’s WH counsel—who has also been George Nader’s attorney; Nader’s been M’s lead cooperators who’s been selling out Trump since Day 1. KR is the “fixer” who fixed everything for them—Benghazi, IRS, Secret Service scandals. M knows Lisa Monaco from Enron, Obama’s Homeland Security & counterterrorism advisor. The agreement outlines a committment from the Taliban that Afghanistan not host terrorists or terror networks and the U.S. begin a troop withdrawal in return for a cease-fire and further talks.

“We have a draft of the framework that has to be fleshed out before it becomes an agreement,” an American envoy, Zalmay Khalilzad, told The New York Times in Kabul. “The Taliban have committed, to our satisfaction, to do what is necessary that would prevent Afghanistan from ever becoming a platform for international terrorist groups or individuals.”

He added: “We felt enough confidence that we said we need to get this fleshed out, and details need to be worked out.”

A senior U.S. government official, speaking after six days of talks between a U.S. team and the Afghan Taliban, also told Reuters on Monday that Washington was committed to the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan after 17 years of war.

The official, who declined to be identified, described "significant progress" in talks last week with Afghan Taliban militants in Qatar on a foreign troop pullout, but more negotiations were needed on a ceasefire and its timing.

"Of course we don't seek a permanent military presence in Afghanistan," the official said in the capital Kabul.

"Our goal is to help bring peace in Afghanistan and we would like a future partnership, newly defined with a post peace government," the official told Reuters. "We would like to leave a good legacy."

There could not be a withdrawal without a ceasefire, the official added.

Both U.S. officials and the hardline Islamic group hailed progress after the talks on Saturday but the U.S. official said that no draft deal had been finalised.

After being toppled by a U.S.-led invasion in 2001, the Taliban control about half of Afghanistan and are staging daily attacks amid the diplomacy.

Further talks are due to start in Qatar on Feb. 25.

As well as the withdrawal of troops, the official said progress was made on addressing U.S. concerns that Afghanistan is not used as a base by al Qaeda or Islamic State for attacks against the United States and its allies.

Apple Is Working on Tech That’d Let Your iPhone Detect Poison

Breathe Easy

Apple devices can already count your steps and monitor your heart rate. But in the future, they could help you stay healthy in another way: by making sure you don’t inhale poison.

On Thursday, Patently Apple reported that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published an Apple patent application for a miniature sensor that would give its iPhones, Apple Watches, and MacBooks the ability to detect poisonous gases — the latest sign that Apple is leaning into a dystopian future.

Clear the Air

According to the patent, which Apple filed in July 2017, the company envisions each sensor featuring an array of electrodes on a silicon-based substrate, with a “gas-sensing layer” over the electrodes. Another permeable layer on top of that would selectively filter out gases, letting only the “target gas” through to the gas-sensing layer.

As for what gases the device would sense, the Apple patent lists several, including sulfur dioxide, methane, and carbon monoxide (CO), the odorless, tasteless gas that kills more than 400 Americans every year and sends another 20,000 to the emergency room.

Apple and the Apocalypse

Apple seems to be preparing for the worst with this patent application. After all, there’s really no discernible use for these sensors other than to help people avoid catastrophe — but catastrophe does seems to play a big role in Apple’s vision for humanity’s future.

Earlier this week, Motherboard revealed the contents of Apple’s filing to CDP, an organization that grades companies’ environmental impact. Based on that filing, Apple expects people to rely heavily on their devices as climate change wreaks havoc on the planet.

They envision customers using their iPhones as flashlights and sirens during severe weather events and turning to the devices when they need instructions for emergency aid.

If this apocalyptic scenario unfolds as Apple expects it might, a phone that could tell you if the shelter you’ve sought while the latest hurricane rages on outdoors includes a carbon monoxide leak might actually prove useful.

German military is plagued by various blunders these days, and there is one more – it emerged that only half of potential recruits are suitable for service, Bild revealed. Others are reportedly unfit or have no German passport.

Bad news about the imperfect state of the Bundeswehr are coming regularly, but this one seems to be even worse, according to Bild am Sonntag tabloid. Citing internal army papers, outlet writes that only half of the 760,000-strong pool of potential recruits is eligible to serve.

The rest of young candidates have no German citizenship, fail to meet minimum fitness standards or reject the idea of military service at all. Meanwhile, the army themselves refused to acknowledge the problem, telling Bild: “We are on the right path.”

The reality, however, looks murky as around 25,000 army jobs are up for grabs due to the lack of available personnel. In addition, every fifth civilian position in the Bundeswehr remains vacant.

IT professionals or doctors are most wanted in the Bundeswehr, but there is a shortage of other specialists such as combat swimmers. That said, shortage of personnel is so dire that the military are recruiting almost everyone who meets their minimum criteria.

Bild cited a strategy paper by Boston Consulting Group compiled for Defense Ministry, which said that only one in four applicants was hired in 2015. Two years later, every second applicant was deemed robust enough to serve.

The Bundeswehr has significantly reduced its manpower since the Cold War, especially after conscription was abolished in 2011. Since that time, the Defense Ministry has been struggling to fill the army as German citizens were reluctant to join the army of their own free will.
