Vatican official Hermann Geissler, who handled sex-abuse cases, quits after being accused of sex abuse by a former nun

A Vatican official who handles sex-abuse cases for the Catholic Church has quit two months after being accused of sexual abuse.

On Monday, Hermann Geissler resigned from his position as chief of staff in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, a body that handles discipline in sexual abuse cases within the Catholic Church, according to a statement from the Holy See’s press office. Geissler maintained his innocence but said he was resigning to protect the church.

“[Father] Geissler decided to take this step to limit the damage already done to the Congregation and to his Community,” the office stated.

Last year, a former nun accused an unnamed priest of making sexual advances toward her while in confessional. That woman, Doris Wagner, later identified the priest to be Geissler, according to the National Catholic Reporter.

Government to Facebook Pipeline Reveals a Corrupt Mix of Social Media and the State

As the Free Thought Project has previously reported, the phrase “Facebook is a private company” is not accurate as they have formed a partnership with an insidious neoconservative “think tank” known as the Atlantic Council which is directly funded and made up of groups tied to the pharmaceutical industry, the military industrial complex, and even government itself. The Atlantic Council dictates to Facebook who is allowed on the platform and who is purged.

Because the Atlantic Council is funded in part by the United States government—and they are making decisions for Facebook—this negates the claim that the company is private.

Since our six million followers and years of hard work were wiped off the platform during the October purge, TFTP has consistently reported on the Atlantic Council and their ties to the social media giant. This week, however, we’ve discovered something just as ominous—the government to Facebook pipeline and revolving door.

It is a telltale sign of a corrupt industry or company when they create a revolving door between themselves and the state. Just like Monsanto has former employees on the Supreme Court and Pharmaceutical industry insiders move back and forth from the FDA to their companies, we found that Facebook is doing the same thing.

Below are just a few of corrupt connections we’ve discovered while digging through the list of current and former employees within Facebook.

Trump reinstalls Ronny Jackson as personal physician

Feb. 3 (UPI) – President Donald Trump has appointed Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson, the president's former physician who withdrew his nomination as secretary of Veterans Affairs, to serve again as assistant to the president and chief medical adviser.

Last March, Trump nominated Jackson for the cabinet post before allegations of drinking on the job, improperly dispensing medication and creating a hostile work environment.

Jackson, who has denied all allegations against him, also withdrew from his position as the president's physician and became a member of the White House medical unit

Professor suspended a second time allegedly for requiring respectful class conduct

Media are spinning the story, students claim

Students at the University of Texas at San Antonio are rallying behind a professor there after she was suspended a second time allegedly for demanding respectful conduct while in her classroom.

The school suspended biology professor Anita Moss last semester after she called the police on a black student resting her feet on a chair. Moss was known to demand respectful behavior from students in her classroom, including “keeping their feet off chairs, putting away their phones and not talking.”

Though many presumed the incident was racially charged, a school investigation determined race was not a factor in Moss calling the police.

Now the school has suspended Moss again. The student newspaper The Paisano reported that Moss was yanked from the classroom due to “a new concern regarding classroom management.

'Yellow vests' hit German streets in pro-diesel protest

Hundreds of people demonstrated Saturday in Stuttgart, the bastion of Germany's car industry, against a recent driving ban on older diesels, wearing yellow vests to match protesters in France whose movement began as a reaction to proposed fuel hikes.

Since January 1st, only diesel vehicles meeting the Euro 5 emissions standard are allowed into Stuttgart, home of Mercedes-Benz maker Daimler, Volkswagen subsidiary Porsche and the world's biggest car parts supplier Bosch.

The demonstrators held banners saying "Pro-diesel" and "Diesel drivers mobilise" as they gathered outside a car emissions centre.

"What's happening to people is unjust," joint organiser Vasilos Topalis told AFP.

"Tens of thousands of people are affected and can't afford to buy a new car" following the court-ordered ban, he added.

Merkel spokesman says reopening Brexit deal is 'not on agenda'

Germany on Wednesday slapped down Britain's hopes of persuading Brussels to rewrite the Brexit deal, with Chancellor Angela Merkel's spokesman saying re-examining the agreement was "not on the agenda".

"Opening the withdrawal agreement is not on the agenda," said Steffen Seibert, a day after British Prime Minister Theresa May said she would seek to revisit the pact she sealed with the 27 EU leaders at a summit last month.
