Think about the exponential population growth and all the immorality they nurture.
If you KNEW that you were living in a sim and wanted out, how would you force the programmer, ('God'), to come back?
Increase the population and you increase the amount of eyes looking at the simulation at any one time.
Thus, you increase demand on processing power.
You see, it's all about hacking the simulation's code and forcing a kernel panic so 'God' is forced to return and fix it.
